Teddy Guinea pigs have arrived in our shed!

- This video is dedicated to the memory of Diane Whitcombe, a very close family friend and long time cavy fancier. Diane showed her cavies with her Daughter Emma, who has been a friend of ours for as many years as i can remember. so now Emma's Teddy's are living with us for a while. so i thought it would be nice for Emma to see the pigs on film and everyone else might like a little peek at the lovely Teddies that staying in our shed at the moment.

Could you kindly tell me how to recognize the difference between a Teddy and a Rex? I know this is an elementary question, but i guess if i dont ask i dont learn. Thank you 🇦🇺

I’ve always wanted a Teddy Guinea pig. They’re hard to find in east central Indiana

I have a boy that looks a bit like Alan.
He has a white line running down from the top of his head towards the tip of his nose.
Quite odd that all of my pigs have this in their coat patern.
Mine might be a Rex though...
Can never really tell the difference.
I think the curly whiskers are the giveaway?

I do love the colours that the Teddies come in, so vibrant!
I’ve always been a rex fan but these teddy pigs are certainly attractive - Hazelnut is my cup of tea. Great video.
I’ve only ever had Rex before, but the Teddies are a very special breed, and yes Hazelnut is a lovely cavy! I am taken with them very much.
They are beautiful colours! I have a couple of teddies so would love any showing tips for their coats!

Wow, gorgeous! Teddies are one of the breeds I so wish we had here in NZ! The closest thing we have is Rex
I did t realise you never had them in NZ, I do not k ow the history of the breed at present, it surely it can be recreated?
@@guineapigswithgreg4575 Seems like a plusher version of Rex, it would be amazing to somehow have them here. The Rex breed is quite popular here, there are many exhibitors working on them and they are lovely. I also wish we had the Californians!
