I had so much Deftones merch going back to Around the Fur. A wardrobe of their shit. The girl that I was with around Koi No Yokan took to wearing the shirts for night shirts ya know? We were both caught up pretty hard in the pill scene. Benzodiazapines and opiates. She didn't make it through that time period. Oddly enough it was Methadone mixed with Xanax that was a bit much one evening, after ages of heroin and Dilaudid with Xanax, pins, whatever. I lived with her and when she passed away, naturally her family blamed me. It might be petty, but I wanted all of my clothing back. Not just Deftones, but stuff from Depeche Mode going back to their world violation tour. I miss the girl dearly, but she's gone. I wasn't responsible. That memorabilia was a huge part of my life. 25 years of memories gone on top of her dying, not even knowing where her ashes are spread. I know I'm off track but it just triggered something. Her family was tough love as they called it, which meant they didn't give a shit about her struggle because it was bringing them down. Then when she died the hypocrisy was mind blowing. I was working and paying the rent for the apartment that we were in when she died. They wouldn't lend a penny towards security deposit and all of that. I got on Suboxone and white knuckled through benzo withdrawal. She insisted on methadone for herself. I remember many times when all we had was drugs, Deftones and our love for each other that nobody would ever understand, and we were the happiest people on earth. Didn't need material things. I can still see her in the oversized shirts at night. Dull love story surely, but it was perfect, perverse and twisted. That's how it should be. Love to her and love to all Deftones people, you know who you are. Just true music fans in general, not just a casual listener. Take care of yourself, your girl, your boy, whatever.
not only is he one of my biggest influences and one of my favorite players but this guy gives 100% energy every moment of every song. truly a legendary performer and one i cannot wait to see again! His stage energy is phenomenal, he explodes with every groove and beat, man his compositions are KILLER! LOVE IT!
This guy right here is a fucking drummer. And yes he is technical drummer. He has some crazy off beats that sound easy but they are not easy to do. I always feel his shit and that's what matters.

He's a great technique drummer and relies heavily on his kick to keep the bands sound together. It seems simple until you try and drum it yourself, and you quickly realize that he's got a lot of beats going through his bass drum and cymbals. He's not the greatest by far, but he's underrated and by far the best musician of the group.

Motin A Bordo although hes definitely not super technical, there are some exceptions where he does some cool shit. However, what makes him so great is his feel and overall sense of groove. He always plays super solid drum parts and knows when to throw in his little flairs, it makes his drummer really tasteful.
