You can download my backing tracks from my website: www.ianboyterb... Not the Neil Sedaka hit, but earlier. I don't know much about it. Can you tell me?
sat in bed on a hot summers night tonight in Barrow in furness, rampside, woke up heard the computor laptop werlling , so switched it on youtube was up, and your name was up , put it on and what a pleasure to listen to. So got up got a coffee and now having a lovely early morning awake with you playing Cryinng my heart out for you on clarinet, you are class. you hear of so many greats but the chaps who don't look for greatness pop up right in front of you with out them knowing it. brill
Once again................. just soo beautiful and sweet........... your interpretations are simply delightful. (as always !!!) ............. Thank you !
Dear Mr. Boyter. I really like your music, this clarinet sounds so jazzy, so good. I play music too, but I play folk music in flute and other woodwind instruments. Many greetings from Hungary. 🇭🇺👋😁
Thanks you. The clarinet is a beautiful instrument, not easy to play in my opinion, (I find sax a lot easier) but if you put in the hard work and do it regularly it repays your efforts.
Ian Boyter You not being able to play fast on it is fine by me because I much prefer the less is more approach when it come to music, jazz in particular. Can't stand Charlie Parker type bebop that's played at lightening fast speed, but instead am really drawn to the ballads. Players like Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, and Scott Hamilton. To me it's more about how it's played and the tone than the speed. That said, you not playing fast is exactly what appeals to me about your playing. And I recently got a great deal on a clarinet myself and have started to learn to play it, and you, along with Evan Christopher, is who really got me to wanting to learn to play it too. I prefer its more mellow tone over that of the soprano sax, and love the sound of clarinet in jazz music - New Orleans jazz in particular. I'm having fun with it and can practice it at night after my wife has gone to bed. Can't do the same with my tenor. Clarinet is also harder for me than the sax is, so, it makes things seem easier to me on the sax now by comparison. I just turned 41, and will work to get where I can play it as well as you one day. Thanks again for the inspiration. I appreciate you taking the time to record and upload videos like you do.
Everything perfect, the performance and the performer. Ella Fitzgerald interpreted this song. But listen your clarinet solo and admiring you on that salmonish shirt make me shiver. Sorry you can say I'm inconveniente. But I'm so old that Ifeel the right to express my feelings like a child would do.

Hello Levente, I'm glad you like my music, greetings from Scotland. Lang may yer lum reek. Is there a You Tube video of you playing?
What a beautiful song you play. I love it. I'm just a clarinet starter and you inspire me so much!

Great music Ian. Thanks.
Your sax playing is great too, but what you post of you playing the clarinet really does it for me. So good and inspiring.
Thanks Keith, I love the clarinet, but can't play very fast on it. I only took it up in my thirties and my technique is fairly rudimentary.
