A relaxing melody by Henry Mayer. I like using the lower register of my good old Borgani clarinet. Borgani now only make saxes, unfortunately. Like the summer hat?
Nice job! So pleasant hearing those woody tones in the lower register. Of course, those low tones are what Alberts are famous for. Beautiful tune, beautifully played!
I love that. Thank you Ian! ( I took my Buescher Alto to a repair shop for restoration, as you suggested, and I am impatiently waiting for it to be ready. So it is still only clarinet for me)
Hi George, I'm really no teacher, I'm a self-taught player so my advice, for what it's worth, is just to perhaps tighten up your embouchure slightly and make the air flow a little faster as you play the higher notes. Practice in the upper register by playing long notes, it's boring, but worth the effort, so that you get to understand how much air to put through the instrument to achieve the high notes. Good luck with it.
Thanks for the info Ian, do you go out on gigs, We play in the Colchester Essex area, I have a jazz club in Witham ,Ist Friday EVERY month British Legion Hall Newland st, 12 to 3PM come along AND HAVE A BLOW WITH US, ITS A 6 Piece Jazz band, cheers, George,
@@thetrombonekid1 Hi George. I do play gigs. I have my own band, 'The Joys of Swing' ua-cam.com/video/XdKqJTynQr4/v-deo.html There are other tracks on UA-cam too. And I have a Joys of Swing Facebook page. Getting back into harness after the pandemic hiatus. Yesterday did a funeral parade for the recently-deceased organiser of the Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival. Tomorrow I'm playing with a trio at an Austin 7 car rally near Perth. Outdoors... I hope the rain stays away. Thanks for the offer of a sit-in, but I'm based in Edinburgh.

Beautiful sound, a true lullaby (at least for your puppy ...) I like it a lot.
What a beautiful number and how wonderfully played! I have a redwood buffet crampon simple system on which I play along with you
very nice Ian...it's summer indeed!!!the hat says it all, great playing as usual..
Fine performance! But, please, could you tell us where to get such an Albert? That tone is incomparable.
Thanks Jimmie. There are Alberts around, on EBay and elsewhere. But you have to be prepared to totally refurbish and that’s not cheap.
Thanks Lean.
Thanks rbroldan,
