The Mantis ship actually has a ton of interesting interactions. One time a spacer ship hailed me to pirate from me, realized it was the Mantis, gave me 1600 credits, and said he has 15 kids so I shouldn't hurt him. I asked him the names of his 15 kids, he got 4, then gave me his last 790 credits and I let him go.

Dude I stayed up until 1am trying to finish this...felt bugged a few times and almost gave up but holy shit the loot at the end made it soooo worth it. What a thing...hundreds of us just found it at the same time, bhr separately
Awesome.. I found this side quest on Charon (one of Pluto‘s moons) yesterday while clearing an industrial site. It was so random that I didn‘t think that this quest was that big of a deal. Until now…

I just did it, the Mantis sounded like a bounty hunter to me. All of the combat training with weapons and martial arts and being used to killing people plus the armor and weapons and training her son in all of that obstacle course drills and trap removal.

I did this quest also early on in the game. It was just a random thing and I was like, HOLY SH*T!!!
Then when you enter into a planets orbit and if a merchant ship is under attack, you can save the merchant and the merchant will start blabbing about the legendary Mantis.
So there's more to the Mantis than the ship but I haven't found out yet.
I did this quest and the armor is amazing. The room with pressure l plates and turrets I hugged the right hand side of the room and ran straight though and made it to the other side to the door before they activated

Got the side quest by killing a random spacer on Piazzi 1. Seems to be a very accessible random quest to get.

How many can you have? Where do you store them? In the inventory? I'm pretty overwhelmed at this point. Off to find a tutorial about digipicks I still suck at using them. Thanks for the video. Digipicks, always make a save before you do it as if you fail you can quick load and keep practicing.
Ships you can multiple of and you'll find these options with the dudes who sell and repair ships, usually anywhere there's a landing pad, there'll be a ship guy.
You can buy, modify, sell and store X amount of them 👍
ah nice, I have the ques to start this but was ignoring it in favor of just doing main story stuffs. I'll have to see about doing this next I'm on. Wonder if the ship will still be good for me, I've got a pretty significant upgrade as I'm on Class Bs now.
ive been using the mantis armor AND the razorleaf for about 24 hours now in game time...ive upgraded the ship and expanded it several times already and its a beefy boi now...its over 50 meters long, and 3 levels high with science stations and workshops as well as about 6 crew members...good times...also joined the crimson fleet and now i got like 320k credits saved up...i think ima buy a legendary ship next...also the razorleaf will actually make space pirates flee when they see you...

@@lconnerz100 oh its a fun game, dont get me wrong...but there are a few things i wish Bethesda did different that seem like a step back compared to their other games...one major thing is the inventory management system...on skyrim and fallout they show BOTH the vendor and your inventory on the screen at the same time, and on starfield they dont, and you have to cycle between different pages to see it...also, there is no junk scrapping...i mean, there is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much junk in starfield but most of it can only be sold or dropped and not used for crafting...now, the story telling is 10/10 obviously, and the ship building and outpost building is top notch..space battles are ok, and FPS/3rd person firefights are pretty cool...if you get it, and wanna make some serious credits, i suggest joining the crimson fleet...oh and i also think some of the weapons are OP...
@@premiumsomdier I’m 100% getting it I’m just too cheap to get early access, I’ve been waiting for what…6ish years for this game 🤣 I can wait a bit longer. But what you said gives me a lot of hope because those small annoying things can and will get fixed by modders…whenever they become available. I can’t wait to play! 6th September needs to hurry up! I’ve enjoyed almost every Bethesda game…I just don’t want this to be a flop as I’ve been waiting for this type of game for so long! 🙏

@@lconnerz100 no prob...btw...there is no level cap i found out...so you need to get to level 315 approx to max your character out...so...HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay

I just use the Starborn ship for everything. Especially combat.

I've got the quest. Found it yesterday. Looks like I'll be turning on God Mode to get through the level 20 robots, lol.
that robot dog killed me like 5 times until i snapped and just lined the entire hallway with mines explosive barrels and then lured the robot dog down the hallway. and when ever my health got low i left the hallway and it wasn't able to follow past the hallway
Lol I just blew up the turrets with the granaded launcher they dropped in that place.... Jokes on them.
The best game Ive ever played
i completed the quest, but i fked up with the ship. i spent 50K retrofitting my ship (1800 cargo class A, 24 LR jump, 200 He3 fuel, 6 power in laser and missile, im a horder), and i like it a lot better than the mantis. but instead of selling the mantis, i should've kept it, retrofit it into a fighter ship so i can take spacefights. i feel like retrofitting is a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
Very Indiana Jones vibe from the quest.
Wondering if you can randomly end up in that place or you absolutely need to have started the quest....

Not really hidden. You have a chance to find the tape on spacers and pirates when you kill them and that gives you a quest that’s tells you to play the tape as it’s first task. I really don’t get how everyone is saying it’s hidden as I found the tape as lvl2 doing one of the main quests.
Armor was way too OP hard to stop using it because it removed any sense of progression knowing I had what potentially could be armor that'll last til end game or at least mid-late.
So are you suggesting not to get it? Might ruin the game?
@@lconnerz100 out of the 3 legendary armor pieces you get from the mantis set (jetpack, chest, and helmet), the chest piece is the most powerful, IMO.
Chest piece gives a 70% chance to reduce damage by 50% just by standing still. Chest piece also auto-uses medkit once every 60 seconds when below 30% hp. It also has 120 physical armor, combined with the whole set its like 200 armor.
I'm playing on very hard, and I'm able to tank entire groups of level 8-14 enemies for about 5-10 seconds of constant damage before I need to get to cover. A single elite enemy (lvl 14) couldn't kill me unless I let him damage me to death after a whole 30 seconds.
There are SOO many cool looking & exclusive faction armors in the game that I feel bad ignoring all this 2 hours into the game.
I'm using the ship though personally, it has a FEW of the best in-slot ship parts but since I don't find space combat all that thrilling so I am just gonna use it.

I tend to cheat on Skyrim, fallout games by using exploits and then instantly regret it because when you’re overpowered in these games they become very boring. I’m hoping I’ve learned my lesson and don’t exploit this god damn game 🤣. If the jet pack isn’t game breaking I might take that though 👀😂🤣
@@lconnerz100 its a strong set but its not a god teir armor set give it about 20 levels and there will be better armors with better stats, maybe not better looking armors however. the ship is bad ass but its only mildly better than the starting ship im still getting challenged in space fights so i need to make alot of upgrades
What happens to your current ship once you get this one does it go to a storage or something

Lol this is hardly hidden, I pretty much see the mantis in my quest log from nearly the beginning of the game.
