All Updated Passives can be found in the Written Guide: www.hacktheminotaur.com/eso-guides/eso-race-passive-guide
Can you make a fist build pls?[preferably sorc]
Can you make a Discord Server for your viewers to connect and play together?
The event on the 29th skil, attribute, champion, race changes for free
In my opinion they should just let all the races keep their "flavor" passives but allow the player to choose the other three passives when creating their character.
Oh look they removed fire immunity stat from dark elves just in time for a new dlc that has us fighting bad guys that do oh what a surprise... fire damage.
They buffed fire resistance for Dunmer. Also, “Monsters no longer apply Status effects such as burning except through intentional means when designed as such.”
I like a challenge especially in this game because ya know most of the content in this game gets stupidly easy if your numbers are big
@@Leisurous I agree but the cry babies will do their best to get it changed again , as always.
Ok, now give as some race change tokens...
If they did it would defeat the purpose of the rebalance which is to make people spend money in the crown store for race change tokens.
At least they didn't go full Games Workshop where they change DPS race to healer, Healer to tank, and tank to DPS so you HAVE TO spend money if you want to keep playing in your current style.
Everyone got 3 race change tokens during the last change, hopefully that happens again.
Pretty sure they gave a race token last time they altered the passives
i mean, i still have the tokens they gave us back to the last race change they did.. how long ago now?
You guys... racial passives are minor anyway, the actual effect in combat is totally minimal... talking about having to change races... you're all taking this a bit too far
Great update for the passives, still a hardliner on high elf for my magicka builds, though nice to see the other race options for more rp play and still be viable in dungeons and the like.
I'm surprised the races that give a health bonus haven't gotten those numbers increased if everyone is getting a major health increase.
Just a heads-up: For those thinking of using Argonian in PvP builds: Resourceful health restore is now affected by Battle Spirit (so it is halved in PvP, 1562). You have been warned. Yep, I know, weird... Poor lizards.... Probably worst race passive - wise...
Stamina bonus is nice, but at this point it is more like a flavour. It wont make them good stam race, not even decent, and it is kinda irrelevant (same as Orc 1K stamina less nerf) as we will get more max resources anyway. Base is much higher + new CP passives.
Sad times
the orc changes are perfect for my magsorc orc tank:) not that i really care about optimization since i play a. magsorc orc tank
@Rostislaw Hilt lolol
What do you use for a taunt
@@deadtreebark you can use frost clench and inner fire. especially now that ice staff tanking is buffed
@@deadtreebark inner fire.
A fun twist would be the Red Guard NB healer, not min-max but people don't expect it to actually work. That shadow and siphon line is quite nice
I have an Orc Magicka Necro Vampire healer. I kinda needed that stamina. Thanks ESO! Another winner.
I’m excited for Hybrid Argonians :D
I am in the part of game where I don’t have to min-max on the race level yet. So I usually play Dark Elf or Orc, but I do have a couple argonians :)
I’m interested in the build updates going into this next game update, and the new hybrid builds that’ll pop up!
Thanks for always being so detailed Hack, you’re the best. :)
There's no part of the game where you need to min-max your race at all.
I really thought redguards were finally getting a buff
As I didn't choose my races with any of these passives in mind, this won't really alter what I'm doing.
I think Orcs are going to dominate Cyrodil (large PVP) now. It's pretty rare I find a DPS has to dump their entire stamina bar to kill someone bar MAYBE a tank. The extra healing means orcs can eat 500+ DOT passively before even actually taking any damage which is handy for sieges. When you factor in resistances that starts to get pretty significant. I think an Orc ball group will be completely unstoppable now with all the buffs they will share.
They lost 100 weapon damage in way of 1000 stamina. But yeah still good. Wood elf is the best pvp stam race now kinda by far
Honestly the imperial change was pretty handy I wound up switching my nord Poison dk to an imperial.
Happy with the Argonian changes tbh. I solo an Argonian Nightblade so I hope it'll be a little bit easier.
I do respect the uniqueness of each race, but I definitely like the passive changes which provide more flexibility to pick a race with a lesser class concern.
Me maining High Elf Magcro, doesn’t seem much has changed for my play style, very glad for that ^^
only that you can play a stamcro now with your high elf instead of making a new char for it
I'm glad they fixed the immunities. Used to be able to have an Argonian be a werewolf and be pretty much immune to the poison status effect made them really hard to kill and overpowered in cyrodiil. So I'm glad they fix this. Not that I didn't have a werewolf build of my own back in the day. That's what it was all about the light attacks. So you run sets to buff that so blood moon, molag kena, and relequens. Or before that trial there was berserking warrior aka advancing yokeda.
Story RP is king to me, so I don't tend to follow racial passive metas, but regardless thank you for your work and all the help you give the community!
This! Likewise, I find the challenge of making a viable character based solely on RP/backstory more enjoyable than trying to "meta" my characters.
I always felt like Redguard needed something more to reflect their flavour, it's the one I am least satisfied with. I still feel it. I am really happy for the high elf change though, because if you look at their culture there is a lot of hybrid spell/melee among them. It's just cool to have the nod towards it.
My main is a Khajiit catalyst nb build I got from you when I was a noob. I'm excited for some buffs to a super fun build!
Since my main is an Argonian Templar tank I'm really happy with the changes, the added stam will be very welcome.
What are you talking about argonian got a nerf especially for tanks
And what are your doing tanking on a Templar? Do you like to handicap yourself?
Thanks for the guides. I'm watching them now to see all the changes. Just wish I had more time to play. LOL
My humble opinions, with no reasons tied to lore, just makes sense to me: If Redguard are sword masters, then they should get passives that reflect just that - equipping a sword, be it dual wield, with shield, two handed, etc. Imperials should have strong sword and board bonuses, with any weapon and shield combo (They're so like Roman legions). Khajit should be the fastest runners, not orcs, and should have a silent weaponless attack like the blade of woe with their claws as an instant level one passive. Orcs should be heavy and have greater resistances but be slower, and should have bonuses when using axes, hammers, or two-handed weapons. Argonians and Bosmer should have bonuses when using poisons, not just resistances, and Bretons should have some special relationship with vampirism. Altmer should be able to advance in the psyjic and mages guild lines faster, and dunmer should be able to advance at darker things faster, like daedric magic or dark brotherhood. Again, just my opinion...
Orc was always fastest. And should be
@@tommysuhlami6241 Nope Khajit should be Fastest it's obvious
@@tommysuhlami6241 I like the thought of reduced sprint cost for Orcs
Well said sir I agree.
Well said, I agree.
They are not showing my Redguards enough love!
Was really, really hoping for something...but nah
I made a redguard dualwield/restoration staff stamblade (that looks exactly like myself). 😅 In other words I have no idea what meta actually means. lmao
I say forget the meta, every time I try to plan for the meta I get a headache lol, I think chasing the meta kills the fun of the game.
As long as you don’t try to play veteran/endgame group content, you can play however you want bro. You don’t need to follow the meta to enjoy the game
@@SunBro_Talos no not true, no meta needed for veteran endgame content.
@@darthmercur3067 Yep, meta is really only necessary for like, the top .5% of the game. And even then it's debatable. With a solid group, you can accomplish anything, really. 🙂
@@xDARTHxWRAITHx I definitely just play casually for the roleplaying. Lol. I love getting lost in the world
I went to argonian still using the ice furnace set on warden solo with some extra healing on the second bar
I have 16 Argonians. You would be surprised how useful the 50% swimming speed is. Overall, through all TES games I have always been an Argonian.
Wow that's a lot of argonians!!
Please please please tell me how it can be and how its been useful in the least? Seriously
Dunmer were already perfect, those that were changed were lesser races that had to grovel devs for a buff... except our Nordic allies, obviously the devs were feeling threatened by their hairy drunken mass... I can't understand why, taking hits is the proper role of rocks.
to the people that do not know the diference between weapon and spell damage, the true is weapon damage is for weapon skill line abilities and spell damage is for class skill line skills, ok!
Wait so, weapon damage only buffs weapon skills/skill lines and spell damage only buffs actual class skills. So like something like biting jabs (which does physical damage) would still be boosted and do more damage if you have high spell damage? If so then ty for the info bc I did not know this.
That's incorrect, unless a tooltip says otherwise :
- Weapon Damage increases damage from martial attacks (which include damage from Physical / Disease / Poison categories) and scale with Stamina
- Spell Damage increases damage from magical attacks (which include damage from Fire / Shock / Cold / Magic categories) and scale with Magicka
For instance, destruction staves weapon skills scale with Magicka and Spell Damage while some class abilities have a stamina morph which changes the damage type and which allows the skill to scale with Stamina and Weapon Damage.
why nobody suggest Breton for tank
they are pretty good for tanking
the 2000 magicka is very nice : the magicka has almost the same importance than the stamina for a tank (you will just need adapt caract to have little bit more stam)
the magicka recovery and the magicka reduction is soooo good : almost all skills are magickal on a tank (only the "pierce armor" and "heroic slash" are stamina base) so the cost reduction and magicka regen is very usefull for sustain
and finally the magicka resist is very good too : 80% of the trials in eso has magickal damage and with the nerf of the heavy armor and magic resist, its nice to have a magic resist passive (and this passive is good and doubled when we have a status effect)
ok breton don't have health bonus but with the future update and the base health it's not a problem (with a warden i have almost 40k health with 0 points in it ^^ )
So basically my wood elf is still not very optimal for anything lol
They're still optimal for PVP Stam builds. 2H+Bow were the beloved mix out in Cyrodil and Battlegrounds.
wood elf is what I am looking forward too...i liked the roll dodge buff but I'll take less for a constant buff. that movement speed will be nice
Ill miss performing acrobatics in combat for flair points
Thank you! Super helpful after not playing for a few years
I personally think Dark Elves need some sort of recovery or cost reduction instead of judt flame resistance
sounds like they reverting the races back to TES3: Morrowind. which any race can do any class to a degree.
Great!
I love your channel. What are the best combat options for Woodelf? Would it ever be worth it to play with heavy armor? What about just the chest plate with the rest of the items staying medium for the stamina bonus?
my takaway from this is that a khajiit is gonna be great for everything, with the only exception being tanking
Seems to me that Imperials want to steal the throne of best tank race from Nords.
Nords are still very solid. They’re just more in line and balanced with other races now. I won’t be changing my Nord dragonknight tank
@@SunBro_Talos neither do I, and I'm not saying they're not solid.
Just saying Imperials looks more promising now.
I've always wanted ZoS to add other races to the game... Wonder if they ever will
I wonder what more races they can add. But if they do, wouldn't that possibly impact all of Elder scrolls lore, if they induce it in this game, yeeears before skyrim, morrowind, and others? Because I like the world's and stories. Introducing a new race could be tricky. Or more classes. I think different types of weapon specialities.
Like in my opinion, I wouldn't mind a sword and board heavy hitting special that does a good amount of damage. I take foooooorever to clear out a group of enemies. But that's just a thought.
@@xxbroconutxx5883 they could add Sea Elves (they were allied with the second dominium so they would fit). And maybe reachmen as a separate race. And maybe more Khajiit breeds or different kinds of Argonians. That's probably it.
I would prefer spears and 1h/spell over races though
@@mateuszsotys3912 wouldn't the reach men be their own class? If it's a race, that's fine too. Just wondering how'd it go in eso. And I did forget about the sea elves. But then comes the things of, what's their passive, their pros/cons. Because if you add too many things, it'll become so diluted that no classes or races will feel, unique in their own ways.
@@xxbroconutxx5883 honestly, I have no idea how they could make reachmen. They look kinda like bretons. As for a class, wardens, necromancers and sorcerers cover them pretty well.
Sea Elves could have lightning resistance, maybe an exp increase to destro staff (or dual wield?) and probably some sort of increase to spell damage/magicka (maybe something more dynamic, like "gain extra spell/weapon damage after a heavy attack")
But still, I would prefer more weapon skill lines that everyone could access
I wouldn't be surprised if as the storyline of Tamriel moves forward they add Merimer and maybe Dwarves.
I have the imperial edition and do not have a single imperial alt. Crazy.
same 😂🤷🏼♂️
I actually do play as a Imperial mostly because I like the race and I do Roleplay as a Imperial Legion commander even tho most people I talk to on ESO hate Imperials
Dunmer buffed? Tis a good day
Aww crap just leveled up a character yesterday I wish I seen this earlier 🙃
2:52 anyone else noticing something and got distracted?
A Man of culture I see!
I have a 18 level wood elf planned to be mainly a Magicka templar with 1 stamina skill used when my magicka depletes
Most "fun-to-play" builds could probably stay similar if not the same. Those going for max perfomance will probably change more. However, this update means that my current project, an Altmer templar hybrid will become reliable outside solo normal, might even try some vet content. I could also continue, with similar setup, for tanky dd/healer in group PvP.
Great video. thanks keep it up, u earned my follow!
I really think they should do something with Redguards. This race is not particularly good at anything specific but also doesn't really function as a hybrid.
it feels like ZOS puts all their effort into making passives for the other races and then almost as an after thought adds +10 stamina to redguards
its really annoying
Agreed. My Redguard was one of my 1st char, but after creating A Nord, Khajiit, Orc, Breton, it ended up on the side-line. Despicable.
I feel the slight race hate with what they do to redgaurds
awesome video my man!!
Excellent recap
It sucks that Orcs got the stam bonus halved and none of the others did. Having said that, I have been considering changing my main's race again.
So my main nord tank is now less tanky? That's exactly what I wanted!
Yeah like, 1% less tanky
Balancing doesn't mean buff everyone everytime.
I just started this game with wood elf and I'm probably gonna stick with it... or If I change my mind I'm going with dark elf.
I just changed my stamina nightblade to khajit from wood elf. I love the wood elf race for stamina because of the recovery and max stam. The new pen and movement speed version is good because it’s always there as opposed to after a roll dodge for a duration. I definitely recommend to stick with it for sustain and if you intend to pvp.
Good choice
I use an Imperil, mainly because i paid for it. But I use them as magic users. So the racial passives (2k stam and health) are good for me.
Nice video I think 🤔 Woodelf would be a good stamplar. but better resistance from poison, along with khajits. I might pick those two because being a woodelf and kahjit are my favorite races. Dark Elfs are nice too but I don't think I want to make a magic build. Tanks I hate tanking I never like tanking, Healing is fun but tiring at times and Dps top slot in my heart so fun.
A lot of nice changes in there with the exception of Argonians which still get complete garbage for racials.
My Argonian is my weakest character. I don't use the potion passive enough to make it even worth using that race as a character, except that I like how she looks. Except for looking awesome, she's garbage.
Hey man your game looks so vibrant, what settings do I gotta change to make my game look like that?
maybe he uses reshade.me
Great vid dude! 👌
Looks like Redguards get the short end of the stick...as usual.
All they ever get is a lot of stamina sustain, but never get allotted anything else, it seems.
At least they arent Bretons. Orcs are the only Covenant race ZOS doesnt seem to have it in for
Will we be receiving a free race change token due to the huge race changes?
You wish... but we'll probably just get an "exciting 5% discount" to buy them in the crown store. ;)
@@jeromemorin9352 they have done it before
@@urieldraconis857 Fingers crossed then... :p
The Argonians shall risssse again!!! The Hist foresees it 💚💚🦎🔥🔥🔥
Redguard should have all martial weapons progress increased by 10% instead of the shield one that Imperials also have...
Ps, maybe they should remove spell and weapon damage racials?
Altmer... "reflect their *magical* affinity by increasing their *weapon* and spell damage"
I'm sorry, what?
I mean Altmers have warriors in Summerset. And I doubt their navy is made from pure mages. They should totally be allowed to use both melee and their magicka. Better question is why imperial skilline isn't completely reworked, because as far as I am concerned it doesn't make sense.
Also: "Their ability to flow in martial combat is unparalleled" = 0 weapon damage for Redguards...
@@cracmar03 i don't know dude
if you argue like that you could also say that every race should get every bonus
cause you'll always find mages and warriors among all races in the lore
i personally don't like the idea of too many races going hybrid
i mean, we already had dunmer which is hybrid
@@AxxxelGR facts,...redguards got the absolute worst of passives related t the race
@@cracmar03 I don't doubt they have melee warriors. But magical affinity has nothing to do with melee damage. Nords have a lot of melee warriors, you don't see them having any weapon damage. If anything, Nord racial passives make no sense. A race known for wearing light fur armors, or bare chested, with two handed axes, are tanks... Do they tank with their skin or two handed axes..?
I’m starting a new Stamblade after the patch but I am really struggling to choose between Khajiit, Dark Elf, and Orc. I think I’m leaning Khajiit with the lover Mundus while utilizing the Unleashed and Crimson armor sets, and dual blade. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
My question is why in 2021 we still don t have differencies between 1 hand weapon and 1 shield build. Sword Mace Axe Dagger, no difference at all ! pissed me off they didn t think about that
waiting on download never played before i think im going to try high elf sorc seems like the best mage and summoner
In Every elderscrolls we are told redguards are great warriors yet non of the game reflect that
@Pokezee Sontar incorrect actually, due to sustain issues with orc, that causes their dps to drop like a rock, which puts redguards in the lead regarding dps.
Same regarding breton.
I think there is a change to the Altmers "Spell Recharge". Doesn't procs off any skill now not just Class Abilities.
I cannot access the HCM's site :( it's all white and empty in my browser. Anyone has same issues?
Dark Elf hybrid DK and a Warden, so nice
All races can be any faction they want. Not just Imperial. I'm a Dunmer on DC.
Because you have the "Any Race, Any Alliance" upgrade which comes with some Bundles/Packs.
@@YowserUK my mistake I thought that was just for everyone now
you could have mentioned that the racial buff from the kajit are technically not really a buff since the overall crit chance has been lowered with the recent patch
The walking turds are outmatched by the dunmer! I love it
They could add 1k magicka to brawny so it gives 1k mag and stam
Tho i think its weird untill you see the mountain part
Could be they get good w magic by living on ice 🤣
Bruh my main character is a high elf stamwarden this is fucking EPIC
Glad I always play Khajiit.
You do have to vacuum a lot when you have Khajiit friends, though.
Im making all my classes Dark elves just because they are good at mag and stam not the besst at either but those buffs make the above-average at both
My poor Orc.
same ;/
I mean wouldn't it make more sense to add weapon damage to redguard? Kinda stupid the only love they got was 55 extra recovery from adrenaline rush.
they are a sustain race not damg. so it wouldn't make any sense at all
I play an imperial magsorc. The cost reduction and health is good in pvp.
It’s messed up how weak Redguards are in the DPS role now. Take out the useless slow resistance and give them increased Critical Chance imo.
You make it sound like racial passives are actually important
@@alexbrowne9566 For end game content they are. I messed up and made a Redguard Magplar healer instead of a Breton Magplar healer. I can hold some sustain pretty well but I can quickly run out of magicka if I mess up.
Right shouldn't the best swordsmen in tam be at the top of the chain? It sucks I have to choose between making a character that looks like me or making a meta character if I want to be viable in endgame.
@@lewisgraham4174 it's fantasy roleplay man you don't always have to be a black guy 😅
@@alexbrowne9566 I get that but I like to make self insert characters when given the opportunity since I rarely get to see someone who looks like me in these kinds of roles within fantasy(It also helps me get my own creative juices flowing when I do my own fantasy writing for fun featuring black characters. I get to visualize characters I create via the game). That doesn't mean I don't also have orcs argonians khajiit elves etc. However, I'd like the self insert to also be viable lol and the idea of lore friendly redguard blade master( or sword singer stand in) is plain old cool.
Whel he talks about Khajiit - what armor does his character wear? I cant recognize it
Sorry if this is a stupid question but, how will a 2% increase in the Khajiit passive, from +10% Crit damage to +12% Crit damage casue Khajiit to overtake Orcs when it comes to damage ? I love Khajiit in every way possible, and I play as one in every game as well, but I don't get how this minor buff will make them any better than they already are.
So are Nords or Imperials good for a solo Arcanist stam build?
I am pretty sure you are undervaluing khajiit for dps, the top end parses from gc and lulu are on khajiit and the only time high and dark elf are better is when you have a large amount of weapon/spell dmg modifiers.
Exactly lol but the khajit dk with especific sets blow all the races too easy in pvp🤣
Hey Hack do you have a build video for your breton??
All my toons, other than my main are not the best in slot race... But I don't care. I have fun with all of them, and still get great stats!
Is it possible to do a dps/self healing build with argonian?
Marc Dice intro.. Lol
Bretons are still the best race ever. No discussion on this subject will be entered into at this time. That is all.
Other youtubers have said they're going to be useless due to the increased sustain overall patch 29 is bringing. I say bull. You can't convince me there's such a thing as too much sustain--I'll just be able to spam more costly abilities I may not have been able to before. You give me 4000 sustain, I'll use it. Plus, they're still the most attractive looking race.
@@rickyjanzen6684 yeah Breton will be useless
@@rickyjanzen6684 I also read that too... I hope they will not be less useful as other races if there is no sustain issues anymore for anyone...
So... if they're just handing out Weapon Damage to the High Elves, any chance Bretons could get in on that "hybrid" action? 130 Stamina Recovery in addition to their Magicka Recovery perhaps?
Bretons are already the strongest race and magicka users can benefit from having more stamina recovery magicka users don’t benefit from having more weapon damage making the change not really impactful
@@ImPoStier weapon dmg increase the dmg from the destructive staff skills
I'm just sad, Redguard got so nerfed for DPS. I main a High Elf Templar Healer, but sometimes I like to run with my RG nightblade for fun.
Hey I have a question I already got Imperial night and I bought it and you know which class I should choose for Imperial please help
Now wil there be a solo healer build just as a funny too try build?
Regarding altmer, is having a staff increase your weapon dmg? Since the update my altmer magplar has higher weapon dmg than spell. I haven’t change anything from before the update. Any idea?
I can almost see legions of Orcs running across Cyrodiilean fields of blood in their wake.
When is this gonna apply? I play on xbox and it's still the same as it used to be :D no changes at all
Tomorrow 👍
I honestly wish they just gave you an option of picking passives
Totally agreed...
I dont understand why redguard are not top race for tanks, their stam sustain is the best in game. I have a necro tank redguard. I dont even need to buff my stam regen.
If there a reason why you did not include the necromancer ?
This doesn’t really affect my min maxed choices in general which is great news. Although I don’t think I would change the race of any of my characters cause I like them a little too much the way they are Lmaoo .
Does anyone know what the dark elf was wearing ????
