2022 Ford Transit Recalls Repaired

Two recalls finally repaired, the HVAC problem and the 360 camera problem. Had to drive an hour and 15 minutes to find a dealership that would work on van due to the upgrades to make it a campervan. Also, an unexpected MPG trial started. I didn't think to specify the oil type when they changed my oil and they used the synthetic blend rather than full synthetic. Will compare MPG to what I've been achieving and see if oil makes a difference.
Going to begin searching for other vans. Maybe consider a Sprinter. There are some nice floorplans out there with rear bathrooms that I would like to look at. Let me know if you would like videos about my impressions of other vans.

I have a sanctuary also, I have been looking at the Coachmen Beyond, same floor plan with the rear bench. Van is 2-feet longer to start with so you gain some room behind the driver. Overall nicer features and the side and rear door screens are built in.

Yeah, the Beyond is a potential. I would probably go with the opposing twins if given the option rather than rear bench. I like that you can make it a big bed or just keep it as twin ish style beds. Sometimes I feel like trying to funnel off the bottom of our bed is a little difficult.

We looked at rear bath but then you lose looking out back with the doors open when parked at a nice place. Everytime you need to empty the cassette toliet both back doors needing to be opened letting in rain or lots of mosquitoes in.

Valid point. I actually wonder why they oriented the toilet that way unless the walkway just doesn’t give enough space to remove the cassette.

After I compared the Sprinter to the Transit AWD 350 it became clear that a Mercedes diesel just didn't make sense not to mention
the comparison of repair issues and delays for the Sprinter. That being said good luck with the trade-in prospects as I hear that Lazy
Days is making hot deals on trade-ins at its Tampa Florida location and has plenty of 2024 inventory.

Thanks. I’m very far from the trade in point. Don’t even know what I want yet. Just going to start shopping. I need the northern dealers to get a Palladium 1910 so I can see a Transit Trail in person.

I can not agree that service for a Ford or an MB is equally available. I think you are the exception, 3000 Ford dealerships in theU.S.. I have three Ford dealers within 20 miles and one MB dealer who doesn't work on Sprinters.
Last summer I had a check engine light in Goose Bay, Labrador. Ford to the rescue. No MB dealer within 300 miles. I recently needed service and polled the three Ford dealers to see which one could see me soonest (two days).

I wasn’t really trying to say they are equal just that assuming every dealership has the ability to service. I do live in a horrible place though. My car has a recall and I will have to take it to Madison. You could also make an argument for Ford because of the parts available since Ford is such a popular brand, especially F150s which we probably share some parts with. It was more just not to make the assumption so hopefully people look into it before buying.
