You are a star for cleaning your oven. We did this once 2 yrs ago - our oven isn't self-cleaning so we used a method I can't remember (but it was "natural" and "it works perfectly" - um, no.) Took us hours - actually hours over multiple days. And a vacuum (don't ask). So now we just don't use it anymore 🙂 OK, not entirely true but we don't cook bacon in the oven any longer. I just can't make myself care anymore. It's been a hard summer and I'm honestly shocked that I haven't just let it go to hell yet!
I use baking soda and vinegar. Taking off the door makes it easier to wipe out. It’s a big mess, but it is effective. Before we sold out last house I used the self cleaning oven to get the house ready. Something burned through the heating element and it had to be replaced. The repairman said it is better for your oven to not use the self cleaning feature.
Hey Gayna, just put some white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on the bicarb. That might make it even easier to clean off. I usually leave mine overnight. That weed burner thing looks amazing. The only thing is I couldn’t use that here in WA Australia in summer because we have total fire bans. But I love the concept though and I could see my husband really getting into the weeding if he could use that! 😊
We had 61 days consecutively where we had some rain here this summer so the weeds went mental! No fire bans for us thank fully. I thought with vinegar and bicarb one is acid and one akaline so they cancel each other out? I’ll have to give it a try x

I need to get out more! 🤣😂 Also, don’t put vinegar on until ready to clean. I do the bicarb paste, leave overnight, spray with vinegar in the morning and then clean.
I'm sitting here laughing at myself. There you are in your beautiful top cleaning the oven and you and the oven come out beautifully clean. Me...well, I wear old sweat pants and a grubby t-shirt and end up covered in oven goop 🤣 I even got it in my hair! I only ever use the brillo pad/steel wool and a bit of water for the oven. Looks like you had a great harvest. The veg box looked yummy and so did the veg bake. Deer got into our garden and decimated it. We don't know how the deer got through the fencing. I made the same mistake and cut my own bangs. Thanks for the clip idea! ❤️
I use soda crystals for oven cleaning and any other greasy jobs. Think it’s basically same as bicarbonate, but very cheap and no chemicals. Keep up the good work 👏👏
Use the new flame thrower on the oven………..just kidding😂. My friend uses one on the weeds on her gravel paths - gives her great satisfaction. But hers doesn’t sound as vicious as your “sheen machine”. I use industrial white vinegar (half gallon), salt ( half a cup) and dishwashing soap (1 tablespoon), mix well and put in a spray bottle but you have to be careful not to spray on plants close to the weed. For something woody I have an old meat injector that I squirt down inside the stem. Depending on the type of weed it may need a second application. Most soft weeds are dead in a day. Best not used in areas where you want to grow anything.

I use the following paste for my oven....1 cup bicarb, 3 tablespoons dish liquid, 10 drops Lemon or tea tree oil and enough water to make a paste....you smear it on the oven and leave for as long as you can then a little elbow grease. I use it all the time. What a magnificent weed killer, wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of that!
I've only recently found your channel and I'm so pleased I did. Your October Vlogs are lovely and such fun. I have to agree that 'gardening is not my jam' either 🤣but it has to be done. Gardening inspiration - thank you! Definitely need to put our veggie beds to rest, maybe with a cover crop. Also have three tiny round zucchini, about the size of ping pong balls that I need to bring in. Love the vest you were wearing ... need to go to Rav or past vlogs to see what pattern you used. I'm sure the cake wasn't really horrible ... maybe a scoop of cream on it will do the trick! Thanks again!
I just have never seen the purpose in cleaning the oven. I just wipe the overflows if I didn't put a sheet pan under, whatever remains gets flakey if I use the broiler for a short bit and I just vac it out. Don't suck in my stomach or balance the checkbook either. Lazy cow I am
I never saw the reason for a clean oven till I read something about the benefits so now I clean it now and again. For me it’s an extension of looking after what I have, I just like looking after things, plants, people and animals…it’s a personality trait rather than laziness I reckon so you needn’t label yourself, my friend xxx

That flame thrower looks lethal 😂. I would have been behind the glass too 😂. I just had a quick look in my phone because I found a recipe for oven cleaner but I think I’ve deleted it! It was a screenshot I took from Facebook. I think you mix bicarbonate, lemon juice and detergent, make a paste and apply. I have yet to attempt it 😂😂. The clips in your hair made me laugh. I used to do the same thing and I remember once when I was about 20 quickly whipping to the shop to grab some milk….I was waiting at the counter and caught a glimpse of myself in the glass of the cake cabinet 😅. I blamed it on baby brain 😂
I need to clean my oven. The top oven I can't reach the back of it without standing on a chair. Lol! I think I would have stayed indoors too if my husband was using one of those weed killing contraptions. I try and get him to use hot water but we have a lot of weeds, ivy and brambles that grow over from the railway line so unfortunately we have to use weed killer at times.
Try limon in a bowl with water and put it in the oven who is preheated at 350 degrees Fahrenheit , leave it for an hour and see if that don’t loosen the rest of the stains ☺️
I would be terrified using that flame thing! Doesn’t it crack your paving slabs or pots if your not careful? Scary! I hate cleaning the oven- it is definitely the worse job! Take care love WW xx
My dad used to use a flame thrower on our garden when I was growing up I used to hide like you frightened me to death lol,they are good though, on cleaning the oven I do it when its hot using washing up liquid and one of those metal scrubby thingy you had really works messy though, you did a good job another session and it will look perfect, can I ask how you got your pumkins to grow planted loads of seeds got lots of flowers but no pumkin 😢 really enjoying vlogtober xx

Yes it does! I was doing that but I was having to boil the kettle so much. This does the same job but more efficiently. Apparently a sprinkle of cheap salt over the area after heating helps too.

Sprinkle baking soda on your oven then spray (or pour) vinegar on it. The mess will clean up like magic. Boys and their toys 😂 that looked scary 😂

Your baking soda needs to be a bit wet, so after applying it use a sprayer to wet it :)

If you boil garlic cloves then decant garlic water into spray bottle then spray your roses it keeps affids away x
