I know it's a little late for this but you can push the + button on the cc mode select screen and it will change all modes to "karts and bikes". So you can use bikes in 50cc. Edit: this comment is wrong don't pay attention to it
Here’s how rankings work in this game and DS to get stars can’t fall off more than once I’ve fallen off once still got 3 stars but keep hitting your opponents with items don’t go off road so much stay in 1st place if you’re getting trolled by cpus your not likely gonna get 3 stars if you’re lagging behind I remember doing a bad race in the leaf cup so I did something controversial by hitting my opponents with items still managed to get 3 stars it’s very strict until 8 deluxe where you only have to get 1st in every race guarantees your 3 stars

Now this is my type of speedrun, I'm gonna watch this once a week or month now.
It took me the whole 2012 summer to beat this game, the i find out legends do this in less than half a day
took me nearly seven years from December 2011 to August 2018. believe me it was difficult but the main thing was I never gave up

To get a least one star in any race you got to go far in every track getting first and you can't get hit alot

That is true, however you can't do that because you have to beat all the 50cc cups with a 1st place trophy to be able to have that option.
