This scene was definitely written by someone who's used to shooting 5.56, and only zeroing. Dime-sized groupings with 7.62? Dunno if that's even ballistically possible...
For zeroing? Yes. It’s entirely possible and expected for shooters from a prone supported position. Shit, my m240 teams were expected to keep their bursts to within a 50 cent piece on the zeroing targets.
I was going to say the same thing. That's how we had to zero our M16A1's; 3 shots within a quarter-sized group. If you're group was tighter, say within dime-sized, you impressed your PMI's lol.

Back in the day I was on a air rifle team and I was able to use a precision air rifle and we did that shot group and not only did my 3 shot group fit inside the dime but it fit inside of franklin. Now you may say well it’s different on a gun range where you have wind, mirage, temp humidity and god know what else. Yeah that plays a part but, shooting is more mental then physical. Doesn’t take a guy with a phd to pull a trigger but a guy who can control his body to take that 1 shot and deliver the bullet to the target without it missing the target.

ive heard from some people that there was another edit on netflix or something that had this scene in it. i cant verify that because i never saw that version. this scene is in the movie but there is a small edit of some extra words taken out. when they put the deleted scenes in the bonus section they often just play the whole scene out with what was in the movie and also what was edited out of the same scene. and then some of the other deleted scenes are just full on complete entire wiped out scenes. so you basically have edits, and entire scenes as the 2 diff kinds
It's hypothetical. But it means if you don't have a close grouping (within the size of a dime) you may miss your enemy a mile down the road by a few feet. Meaning he still has the ability to kill you. Whether it be closing in on your position, or calling in an airstrike on you.

yes it is a deleted scene, i ripped it from the deleted scene of the dvd. i also just went and looked in the actual movie and the dime shot is NOT there. its cut out right when hes talking about 3 football fields and wind direction. the scene cuts back and forth from running, to paintball training, to sniper fire. the part he says though shall not kill is edited, they took out the walking part (in my upload) and edited it so its a longview shot of him standing before it zooms in and says "fuck that shit". also the beginning of this video was re arranged and placed afterwards when he finds out hes a sniper and they go back to the range.

If you had watched this movie in it's entirety, you'd know it is in no way propaganda. It presents a decidedly inglorious view of the military.
