I bought them 5 months ago and are very great.i like aesthetic and also the removable battery is more confortable and you don’t have to wait to reload ...the only flaw It’s that you can’t connect multiple bluetooth devices and the software sonar should be improved a little
I saw this video yesterday and the comments regarding the black version. I actually used to have this headset but returned it because the old ANC knob hurt my ears so bad, even with the Wicked Cushions replacement cups.
I went out and bought a new pair yesterday and the issue for me has been fixed!! I'm so glad they updated the knob!!

Not only the white version has an updated ANC Knob! I just got mine which I ordered 2 days ago from Amazon... Black Xbox Wireless Version... and to my surprise, when I removed the stock ear pads to install the Wicked Cushions I ordered with them, I find they have the updated ANC knob! :D I'm not sure if they updated them after 8/2023 since that's the manufacture date mine have on the box or what.... but they have all the "upgrades" you mentioned on your video, or maybe I just got lucky? haha
it's all units made after 6/23!

I have both versions with bumpy in ear ANC mic and the new sleek one. I can definitely say new one has comfort thanks to bump elimination, but old one has MUCH BETTER ANC, I compare them back to back and I don't know why, the new one has very minimal ANC. And searching throught the internet I came across this video, in which you say ANC feels same. Any advice appreciated, am I missing a setting?

Sonar does wonders to clean it up, but Steel Series really needs to catch up to the competition in terms of microphone quality.

I ordered one from Amazon and it arrived today. I was expecting the huge knob and ordered some Wicked Cushions to "solve the issue"... when I removed the stock pads I was surprised by the updated knob... so yep, if you buy the Xbox Version today... it most likely will be the "updated" version... or I might have just got lucky :P
Is side tone still getting nerfed when you update this headset to its newest firmware?
With the black version of this headset manufactured in 2023. If you update your products firmware it nerfs side tone so that on high you can barely hear yourself.

I'm struggling to find comparisons between these and the 9x. I have been thru FOUR pairs of them and even tried to get away from them because of the defect I keep having a problem with but the sound quality just keeps bringing me back. Are these better or just comparable even? Hell, for the Type C, I might just make the jump anyway.
Can Sonar be used on Console yet? Like the Astro A50X where you can use Logitec G Hub to configure, then it saves the settings to the headset sp can be used on console. Can Sonar do this?

You can prioritize speed or range in the steelseries engine, i have not tested it but the setting is there!

How does the base station work? Does it need to be powered by an adapter? Does it need a cable connection to PC? I game with a laptop on the couch and not sure if the station is a deal breaker versus other models with plain USB dongle (no wires).

Can someone tell me if I can use any 3.5mm jack on Arctis Nova Pro wired or does it need the proprietary 5pole to 4 pole 3.55 jack for the mic to work? Because I've bought on that came with 4 pole on both ends and no mic functionality with those. Wondering if my mic is Dead on arrival.
Still worth it for me. The white version looks very nice. I never had a problem with the ANC bump. But it's nice to see a redesign.

@@thelastnatty8537 I agree. Before this video. I thought for sure we would be getting a new headset. I dismissed the White Nova, but then Techne went into detail about how they changed the ANC inside the cups. I think you're right. SteelSeries wouldn't go through the trouble of making a revision, only to have a version of that product category release a few weeks later. It will be interesting to see what they release, we've seen mic's and speakers recently; what's next? maybe a Streamdeck-like device. SS might play it safe and release 2024 revisions for existing products.
Nova pros are some of if not the best sounding and feeling headset I have ever owned or used, especially with my Wicked Cushions on them. I have the wired ones but considering upgrading to these because the noise cancellation, the sweet ass color, and im tired of having this damn wire in my way every time I stand up from my Secret Lab chair. I have considered trying a different pair of headphones but i just cant find any that i think will feel better than these. I will say my one big problem that I have noticed with this product is the sound station basically imprinted the home screen onto the stations screen since i didnt mess with the setting very much, that for sure needs to be fixed, I doubt they did but that is a problem. Other than that, this is the best headset I have ever owned
Hi, which one is better, the deathadder v3 pro, the pulsar xlite v3 or the g502x (wired), my hands are 18.1cm x 9.3cm (currently using g502h but it's to heavy). If it was the pulsar which size would you suggest?

I used the Nova Pro Wireless since its launch, and the base station now has some OLED burn in. It’s pretty noticeable from afar, but doesn’t bother me too much. I do think this is a pretty poor design choice though.

Ive got an issue where i cant use all of the custom "Engine" option for sound and Sonar for the Mic, as soon as Sonar is on it disables the Engine method completed and i cant use it. The mic is that horrible on these that i have no option but to use Sonar but i want to be able to use the DAC to change EQ profiles but that hard sets itself to "Sonar" so i cant change it.
Re the mic is picks up even the tv two rooms away and even mouse clicks its far too sensitive

I just purchased this headset but I am running into a problem trying to set it up. I have connected the headset using the information guide, yet when I turn on the headset, the station doesn't detect it and I hear a constant beeping sound. Also, the station doesn't show my battery in the charger charging. First off, the beeping in the headset: is that an indication that the battery is not charged, and if so, would that be why I am unable to pair the headset to the station? I sent in an email to support and they only responded by sending me an RMA number to order a new pack of batteries.
So, has anyone else have the problem I am dealing with, and was it the batteries that caused it?
I got the Nova 7. For or me it lacks bass and max volume. I use it for gaming on my tablet/phone. Will the Pro be better with the improvement of bass and max volume?
There is a specialized eq for laptops/desktop, so you can use it to customize the sound. But if you're looking for music quality, as well I'd look elsewhere. You won't get that drown out music feel.

3 things I would have liked to have seen from the originals, 1 The Dac screen dosent have burn in, 2 I would have liked to have seen a one button switch off on the Dac, 3 Some sort of material lining within the battery earcup as to dampin the noise of changing the battery when the headset is on your head.. 4 The Dac itself starts to spaze out after a year meaning you cant get to the off standby menu without it going to the main menu. Anyone one who`s has had the originals will know this as its a problem with them....

Get the Sony Pulse Elites and I’m not joking! I used both the Novas and A50x’s and the Elites bring in so much detail especially for us PS5 users! I strongly believe the Elites sound better than both those other high priced headsets
I play on Xbox so can’t speak for the ps5 but the a50x is more comfortable imo but not by much. The sound quality is noticeably better once you EQ the a50x but the nova pro wireless is still a phenomenal sounding wireless headset. Wish sonar would work on console. The mic on the a50x in my opinion is the best in the wireless class. Bluetooth wise I much prefer the nova pro wireless, it’s just much simpler to use and the way you can fine tune between game and Bluetooth volume is great. Overall if money isn’t an issue I’d grab the a50x but you won’t go wrong with either. I was gonna sell which ever headset I didn’t like but I’m definitely keeping both and will rotate in and out every now and then. If I had to use only one I’m grabbing the a50x due to the sound quality for FPS gaming and mic quality. Hope this helps!
Im on xbox. For these headphones i have to plug them into my laptop everytime i want to change the sonar preset EQs. Yet they bring an app out for the nova 5s and not for these!! Its ridiculous, thousands of complaints of this have been ignored

Most retailers are selling the older model a bit cheaper but just compare model numbers.
I don’t care about mic quality, what I want is a good quality headset with good noise cancellation and no latency that works on PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC. Is this the one I’m looking for? The mic needs to be updated.. it’s not terrible but for the price you’d expect a better mic. The Astro A40’s have a way better mic for half the price!
It's funny that you just posted a re-review of the Nova Pro Wireless because I actually just returned my pair I just bought a few days ago simply because to my surprise is that Steelseries didn't carry one very important feature from the original Arctis Pro Wireless and that is a "sleep/timeout" display feature. They implemented a dimming timeout, but not an all out blank screen timeout like the old ones. This just baffles me why it's not a feature anymore considering how many people had OLED burn it on the old basestation. Omitting this feature is just crazy to me, and was a deal breaker.
they do have it. if you had turned on power save mode it would turn off, at least for me on pc it worked

No, power save mode is for the headset, not the Basestation. I am talking about the Basestation going to sleep, not the headset.
@@TrekBuilder yeah the bass station. there was an update where it never turned off for me either and i would always unplug it for it to turn off. but then i went through its settings and turned that on and when my pc powers off it also turns off. i had the same problem and for me at least that fixed it
HOW TF DO I UPDATE THIS?!?!? Myself and several other people with headset cannot get the firmware to update because the software won't detect that it's plugged in via pc cable. I've been looking on forums for years with no proper solution. Calling their support will just be them giving up and telling me my unit must be faulty. Fix your software!!
This comment might not fit here but I wanted to ask a general question about gaming headsets which also may refer to the steelseries here.
I watched all your reviews and yet I can´t decide which headset to buy. I figured that my main criteria is the volume control on the headsetls themselves. This might sound weird but hold on. Currently I am using a Sennheiser GSP 350 and the volume control wheel adjusts the volume on the headset itself. I am looking for a headset where I can adjust the volume independently from the windows volume settings
Mic is fine. Gets the job done well. Everyone in YT comments think's they're a giant streamer and need a top notch mic...which you don't. And if you did, why would you use a headset mic for streaming?
I think it's more of a "for $300 this microphone is awful" kind of thing. Especially with other cheaper options having way better mics.

But, if you don't care about the microphone that much, and everything else about the headset is perfect for you, then go for it!

Not everyone is a streamer, but most people are remote workers requiring a good mic to have video calls. Buying one with a shitty mic does indeed have an impact on how you sound to others. Don’t be stupid kids

@@sylvainalain6637 I’ve had mine for a while so even with a break in period it’s still quite uncomfortable for more than 15 minutes, now I have NOT replaced them with the 3rd party cushions but the headset itself with the ski band just clamps down a bit too much for my liking I usually have to put my glasses at an angle above the earphones which isn’t great either lol

It's crazy how expensive this headset is only for the mic to sound this bad.
The Wicked cushions for these are trash, mine came apart completely after 6 months of use. Got some real leather replacement ones off Aliexpress, still look like new 6 months later.
So no reason to get the WC freeze? WHAT? In my opinion the Nova pro wireless are much better with the WC freeze pads.

why is there a "Works with PS5, Switch, PC" and a "PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Mobile" version, is there even a difference?
I returned the original version, and bought the Maxwells. The Arctis made this weird sound whenever I fired a gun. I couldn’t be happier with the Maxwell.
I had the Nova Pro and returned them because I had too many problems with the GG software. I bought the Maxwells and they sound phenomenal. I have zero issues with the weight.

I would strongly not recommend these headsets. Steel Series has some quality issues with the Arctis Nova Pro. It saddens me as a long user of Steel Series being an owner of each of the top wireless headsets all the way back to the Siberia 800 and H wireless headsets. I've experienced numerous bugs with the Arctis Nova Pro involving super annoying beeping that seems to have no cause but defective software that Steel Series has yet to fix. This is not an uncommon issue and a simple google search will show many people having this issue but it will not come up in any tech review because it takes actual time and use to manifest.
Are these truly better than the Astro A50s guys?

As someone who owned two Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless headsets, 3:27 really cringes me. This joint in the Arctis Pro Wireless is infamous for being fragile and cheaply made, so I hope the Nova Pro Wireless fixed that.
