    Some one may have mentioned it already, but Aussie Three Minute Miracle MOIST is the best product for degreasing oil based Pomades. Leave it in for 15 minutes, then rinse out. I use oil based pomades frequently for pomps, but have to degrease every night or else I break out (it's alot of work, but worth every second for the sleek style). I hope this helps someone! Love your videos!

    Heh, when you started talking about the history behind the "pompadour" term, I got instant flashbacks to probably the first video I watched from you ( how to style a pompadour, I think). Has it really been 5 (or 6) years since then? Anyway, this video was as good as the pompadour was high.

      Yeah, it's probably because I was quite bemused by the fact it was named after a real person. It's like finding out the quiff is named after monsieur Quiff, Jeanne d'Arc's secret lover ( which, although made-up, is now canon in my mind )

    For the hairwash part. Get the shampoo in, and just comb through your hair with a fine comb, while slowly adding water until the shampoo is all gone. Then do it the second time. (if needed) It will for sure save you the 3rd wash :) Atleast it does for me.

    • @pomadesandpomps
      @pomadesandpomps 5 років тому +1

      Goldven Yes. Oil based pomades are essentially comprised of a base ingredient (petrolatum, or hydrogenated castor oil for example), a wax, and a carrier oil - these carrier oils (such as coconut, almond, avocado, etc) are the ones that work their magic to smoothen out your hair.
      OBs tend to be healthier than most other types of hair products tbh

    • @pomadesandpomps

    Robin, anytime I wash and condition my hair, which is about 2x a week. My hair is extremely hard to style afterwards. It falls too flat and products do not adhere well. Do you have any idea why this is? I'm assuming its the conditioner coating the hair but I have tried three different ones by now and the only workaround I have is washing and conditioning at night and then styling in the morning after some natural oils have resurfaced. I see videos of you guys getting some of your best looks after washing but for me it seems to be the opposite. Thanks.
    Edit: I'd say my hair is medium thickness

      Hey, this is something that can happen. What do you use? Have you tried changing your shampoo and conditioner. You could a lighter conditioner to make it less weighty.

    Thanks for the information and it's quite good but you misspelled the pompadour so if you can please edit that.

    Suavecito works well for my thick and wavy hair, and I'm able to successfully style a pompadour, so I'm satisfied

    Oil based pomades will work bad in summer, because they will melt. You can use Layrite Cement Clay.
