I used a glass from a picture frame so I can reuse it over and over
That’s a great idea!
Thank you for letting us know about the glass. I've never done one of these before. It looks fairly easy. Well depending on the pic that's chosen lol. I'm looking forward to seeing how well this will turn out. I love the idea of using the glass from the picture frame. I'll let you know how it turns out for me 😉 keeping fingers 🤞
Amazing!
I will definitely try .Thank you 😊
Helpful hint: transparency film will work straight from the printer to eliminate having to retrace it. Great tutorial...thanks!!

This is genius!!
I use an old school overhead projector at times and did have a small digital projector until my son took it somewhere and I have never seen it again!!
Absolutely worked. Used to paint the Giving Tree on our wall.
That sounds amazing; so glad it worked for you too!
Thank you for sharing this tip. What an inexpensive way to transfer simple drawings. I will have to try this for some upcoming projects.
Wow this turned out amazing, simple and affordable! I’m doing this for a school play production where I need my drawings to look as close to the characters and backdrop as possible. Thank you so much for your genius idea!
💚 the minimalist approach 👍😁
Girl YOU DID THAT! Save me $$$ Thank you so much for this video!!
Great!!! Thanks a lot !
Thank you for the video
Clever! Thanks for sharing!!
You have brightened my day. This is fantastic. You've given me an idea of how I could improve on your simple DIY projector, by using clear acetate and a small torch, as my mobile does not have a continuous light, like most mobiles.
I traced a tree onto an outside wall as part of a mural. It worked just. As you said!
Ahhh that’s so awesome! Feel free to share it with me on Instagram @sewbrightcreations, if you’re on there :)

Thank you so much !!! It is SUPER AWESOME !!!🤗💖🌠
This is so freaking smart, thank you!!!!!
I have a small flashlight with a lens- it may make a brighter projection than the cell phone.
Hi good work thanks for making this blog,,,,, really helpful thanks again for,,,,👍❤️
😱 omg that's genius!
Excellent!. There are tons of bogus tutorials with bad or no result. This one actually works!
The only improvement suggestion I have is to make a sort of slot for the sheets to shove in to prevent infinite tape-milage. 🙂
Good idea! It definitely works!
I used a thermal laminator pouch with nothing inside, nice and rigid. For the sake of conservation I used a sharpie then wiped the image away with rubbing alcohol once finished... but I wonder if dry erase markers would project opaque enough to trace...OK gotta go experiment! Byeeee👋
This is so amazing ! Brought chilhood memories thankyou ❤
Thank you for sharing this great idea!!! I volunteered in a contest at my job and this just made it easier to trace some of the characters from Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer.
Oooh yes!! So awesome for tracing things like that!!
Thank you so much for your tutorial very nice 👍🏼

Gurrrrl you have no idea how much trouble and money you just saved me for enlarging images for my art. Thank you!
Ooops! Came back to give you a hug 🤗☺❤
Amazing! Would love to see what you do with this method!
@@sobrighthome I'm starting rug tufting and was able to protect a 5 inch image up to the 3'x4' I needed for my rug 🤗 I haven't tufted it yet but soon will.
THANK YOU!
Amazing creativity❤❤❤❤ Thank you for the tip
My pleasure 😊
Worked great. Used a headlamp for a light source.
Good stuff!
Genius thank you
You can trace it on tracing paper, turn over, apply charcoal or regular pencil to the desired lines, place the tracing paper with the charcoal or pencil against the surface where the design is wanted, keep it there with biodegradable masking tape, and then go over the traced lines with a pencil. The design will be transferred to the surface and is ready for your medium be it paint or permanent marker.
"place the tracing paper with the charcoal or pencil against the surface where the design is wanted" -- that part is difficult if the design size is massive, making a projector better for calibrating
well done!
Thank you!!
Thank You
Wunderbar !
nice
Thank you for sharing! I love it!
Oh my god what a good idea! I started a mural on the side of one of the building at our farm but I am having a hard time drawing the horse on it by hand..but this would work! I’ll just draw the outline on plastic..so cool! I will have to wait till next spring though lol..heck what’s 6 more months? I started it a few years ago so now I can finally finish it! THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT IDEA ITS BRILLIANT!!
Lovely diy!
Thank you!
I've always loved the print "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai. And I like it on my wall but I'm at a loss how to put it on a sheet of clear plastic to project it.
can you print it off your computer and then trace it on the plastic
@@sobrighthome That's a great idea!
Thank you very much!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is awesome!! I actually want to use this idea for a DIY light art installation. A phone works great, but I would like to put up multiple projections at once. Is there another light source that works as well as a phone?
I’ve tried different ones and found that the phone was the only one that worked really well, but you could try a small and really bright flashlight, something similar to a phone or maybe an old phone you could borrow?
it would ve been easier to cut the whole side that you made the hole in so that you could just slip the ziplock bag over it without cutting the bag then flip it back up and tape it to the other top flap opposite of it.
How big does that make the writing? Great idea, was looking to buy an overhead projector
It can be as big or small as you want it, just move the projector closer or farther away for the size
What kind of paint did you use? Any clear coat? Hey girl thank you. I'm putting a poem I wrote and put into brush lettering on a wall at a local DV shelter... and I've been procrastinating because I couldn't get past this step. Like, how do I get it on the wall?? With a box and a zip lock bag, that's how! Lol. THANK YOU!
I used latex paint, same paint I’d use on the wall. You could use acrylic too I think. No clear coat. If it was a surface that is getting walked on I’d use a clear coat but not for a wall
Cool! does using a projector applicable also in outdoor wall?
I’m sure it would! Just needs to be dark outside.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤
Dayum, i dont have any boxes from the thousands from amzon has shipped in the last three weeks.
