11 Lessons I Learned from the Pod on Handling Clients, Staying Ahead in Your Field, and Getting Things Done Before You're Asked 1. Interrupt in a polite way. 2. Be proactive and build relationships. 3. Don't make yourself the center of attention. 4. Bad clients get upset, and good clients are chill. 5. Be more human; be genuinely interested in them. 7. Do what's needed to be done even before the client asks you. 8. Once a week, email or text them with a topic that has gone viral. 6. Ask questions "What do you feel like everyone gets wrong in your industry?" 9. Thought leaders hire you, and they want you to write, but they don’t have leadership thoughts. 10. There are people who are going to be difficult, because they know exactly what you "need" to do. 11. Arouse curiosity in them. What could be mundane to them could be interesting to you and your audience.
"Every time you say it's an unstructured role, that just means you don't know how to operationalize it." GOLD. This needs to be talked about so much more.
