@@davidcaddle1307 I don't mind that I very rarely get a single player with more than 3 star potential. The problem for me is that clubs like PSG, Man Utd, Arsenal, Barca, Man City etc. ALWAYS get several 5 star kids every single year. Which as you said, isn't realistic at all.
@@tussalgull5986 True. I'm in my 4th year managing United and the best wonderkid I've gotten had 3 stars with 2 extra black ones. The next best had 2 and a half with half a black star. About 80% of my youngsters are 2 stars and below and I end up releasing over half of them at the end of the year
Club reputation affects newgen starting CA by ~10% (unless my testing was just statistical error, which is possible, in which case it'd have no effect). For PA, club reputation is only used to sort between 2 or more clubs in same division that have identical youth recruitment, so a minor effect. I've tried all sorts of ways to reverse engineer the exact formula from the aspects I do know, and still haven't got it (but my results suggest I'm not far off). One of the biggest spanners in the works is England. Using FM19, Chelsea has 16YR/18JC/8700 Rep in 120YR/7050 Rep nation in 172 Rep/20 team division. It's not about club competition (England has many better clubs than Spain, and seven produce 120 PA+) or nation population (England 50mil vs. Spain 46mil) either. I haven't tested HoYD reputation, but anecdotally I can say I've been using a model professional HoYD with half star reputation, and he affects youth players as positively (the HoYD only affects ~2 players per intake) as a high rep model professional HoYD would.

Great video, I've used all these points to try and improve my youth production. I also find that placing high potential youth players in the first team but make them available for their age group helps. They train with your first team. I also get my players in their position to mentor them helping them develop by learning from the guy you eventually want them to replace. Its also good for retraining them into a specific role.
I have a few more tips that help with youth intake, if you don't buy players your chances are higher because you rely on youth instead of buying. Also having more players of your nations choice helps and last tip is well in fm there is a thing called nation youth rating. I'm not sure in newer fm's if it's changed or not but brazil for an example has 180 youth rating so they have always the best chance of getting the best players as for Australia only has 90 so they won't have much of a chance. I am not sure if in newer fm's it changes from season to season the youth rating changes but in the older fm''s it stayed as what it was in the editor.

One very important thing about scouting knowledge for a HoYD - it's ok if he/she doesn't have much knowledge of other countries, since as you pointed out, the club's scouting knowledge can compensate well enough. Especially if you have affiliate clubs in different countries. What IS very important, is that if you have a new HoYD who doesn't know your country, then until he/she builds up that knowledge you can expect some of the intakes to stink since they don't know the kids available in the area of influence
Other major tip that is missing in this video - club affiliates help you improve your world knowledge, and allow you to attract youth intake prospects from other parts of the world. I have a USA affiliate in my Spurs save, and every youth intake generates at least 1 American prospect every year

When you end up with a team full of superstars, do you think your youth intakes are always crap since those players are being compared to your first team?
as far as i know the nations youth rating has the biggest influence, like brazils youth rating is at sth like 160 (max. is 200), england has something like 120 (i dont know the exact numbers, it was something like that in fm2020, havent played fm2021 yet, but the numbers should be still in the same area). i know you can edit that rating in the database with the editor, maybe even with the in-game editor, but i dont think you can influence that rating otherwise in-game, at least it feels like that for me, haven't really tested that. so if you have a high reputation and a good youth intake, but your team is based in a country with a low youth rating, your chances for wonderkids will stay low.

Even though I'm performing far far better in the league, my reputation has stubbornly remained at 3 stars, or national level. Its extremely annoying because we are now in Europe and have just got out of the europa league group stage.. and still apparently my reputation only improved marginally from the previous year. So often, people refuse to sign for us before we "improve our standing within the premier league" then they go to literal championship clubs that have higher reputations, i.e 3.5 stars. Its a massive pain in the ass. Do you mean your affiliate sends you players on loan mate? If so as far as im aware your youth intake is not affected by affiliates, that is just a relationship between clubs that allows you to give their younger players game time, hope this kind of cleared things up mate! - Jake
@@fmscout you ask your board for an affiliate which will allow you to recruit foreign youngsters, this is how you get foreign players in your youth intake. When you get this affiliation the club sends you youth players that sometimes appear in your youth intake in return for their youth teams being able to train at your youth facilities. I’ve seen people say that having staff members from a certain country increases your chance of a player from that nation being in your youth intake, but last year in my Wrexham save I got to 2033 I think and literally every single youth player that came through was from wales. Not sure if it effects youth intakes but for sure regens.
Regens yes, youth intakes I dont think so mate! - Jake
@@fmscout what's the difference between youth intake and regens?
Youth intake refers to the regens that come through at your club once a year, regens in general can be from any club, this is when the game adds new players into the game to deal with other player retiring, you can usually tell as they have a cartoon face when you click on them! - Jake
@@fmscout got it, thanks Jake!
Hey Jake, So I led York in season 3 and got promoted to League 2 (wow), I'm wondering how do I get an under-23 team?
Hey, sorry for the slow reply, I’ve took Dagenham all the way to the prem and still haven’t got a U23 or U19 team, so I’m assuming you can’t create one, so your best bet is loaning players out. How’s the save going btw
But how can i scout a country excactly? i just cant figure it out..
How do I get youth intakes. When I go the menu there is nothing. Playing with Inter in first season fm21
What about affiliates that give you youth players? Ive got a couple that send ober their youth players to me, if they have decent youth set up will that improve the chances of a good intake?
Do you mean your affiliate sends you players on loan mate? If so as far as im aware your youth intake is not affected by affiliates, that is just a relationship between clubs that allows you to give their younger players game time, hope this kind of cleared things up mate! - Jake
@@fmscout when you ask for an affiliate club some have the option that you get youth players from the country of that affiliate
No players came through with the nationalities of my staff neither from the countries we had scouting knowledge of, which was basically the whole world by the time i was done with the save.
Yup. I had a game in which Cittadella and another Spanish club were my affiliates. My best players were from those clubs.
Hey i’m still new to fm 21 and how do i send out or start getting youth players in (what tabs do i have to press ) i am with derby in the championship.
December of every month a new batch of players will be rerouted as your youth intake and then in march they join you club, you don't have to do much more than that! - Jake
@@fmscout Oh okay thats seems quite easy . Can i see the players in january and decide which youth player can go as i am in the january transfer window. Cheers Jake !
@@matthewynwa8553 I'm not Jake, but I can still reply with my experiences at least. You will be able to see in december some of the positions - for instance "there's a promising right winger coming up" - however you won't be able to see their numbers before march! Also, just because they say a player on a position is promising, it doesn't mean that he's a huge talent all the time... :)
Aren't youth facilities for all the players that are like not visible? in other your under 19s and devlopment centre players use your training facility and youth facilities is for the teams you can't see like under 15s
Why is my board requests greyed out? :( I have been with this team 3 seasons already and I am not able to make a request. Is it just a bug?
Is the mobile version the same as the pc version?
Im considering buying the game and its cheaper on mobile so yeah
It has limited options. But yeah in affordability it’s a good shout.

attribute masking off? whats the point?
Just for the video mate, not something I do on saves I play 👍🏻
@@fmscout was happy about the list but then this... no point me playing with it off either ..so its unusable really ..games not FM with no masking.. nice effort tho...and good luck in future
Very good info tyvm!
No worries mate glad you found it useful! - Jake
What app do you use to record fm?
Quicktime on Mac and i've heard OBS is good too! - Jake
well mine youth intake now are 3 golden ball winner
nice job! - Jake
What is the point. You cannot save from one year to next. All this effort is for nothing and a huge flaw in the game
IN FM22 I BOUGHT GREENWOOD FOR ARSENAL ALSO HEAD OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ARE THE BEST COACHES IN THE GAMER BUT THE GAME IS SO BUGGY
i tested reputation on fm20 and it made no difference.
Or, you can save the game the day before youth intake and keep reloading till you get a good crop. Simples!
,
How to save money? At least one season don't buy new players, give the youth a chance. Thomas Tuchel has a great young squad in Chelsea and they're in the semifinal of the champions league. I started a new season with Watford so I can rely on the young lads only, without Ronaldo or some big star player. Watford's back in the Premier League! Yea :)
Grande fatih terim tactic must come
Jose Mourinhos tactics :)
Can anyone give me fm22 torrent download link..
If your HOYD has knowledge of say brazil in gibraltar will the newgen be based on brazils youth rating ect or gibraltars
I would assume still Gibraltar as the majority of your intake will be of your nation, but you'd likely have a chance to pull in a few Brazilian nationality players over the course of your save, hope this helps mate! - Jake
@@fmscout thanks Jake you’ve just given me a reason to invest heavily in my youth facilities
@@fmscout no they aren’t youth facailities affect CA of regens I’m quite active on the SI forums and I’ve seen countless moderators explain this
Sorry mate my bad there you are correct, had to scour a few forums of people saying opposite facts to each other but yes It seems current ability of youth intake is effected! - Jake
Save the game a day before the youth intake > keep resetting until you like what you see
That's not fair .. I dunno how you can be satisfied if you win anything later or complete challenge :)
@@RijadKadic I didn't say that I did that. Only that I recognise that it's possible
Do a video for the mobile version 😪
It's really easy to get best young intake. Save the game before the date click and reload until yo get 4 star player at least. Easy
Haha I suppose thats one way to go about it (if slightly unethical) - Jake
Was looking for this comment :)
It's more like gambling but I do so. If you are lucky, you can get at least 3 good potential youth players. My best time is when Wales national team contains 12 players from my club, Colwyn Bay FC after 34 seasons long.
Why the default skin?! Why no logos?! Why no player faces?! Why no kits?! Why no analyzer polygon ever?! Do you really play the game like that all the time?!
That's a personal preference/choice. The reason is often irrelevant, but for example 1 of the main reasons we don't use official logos, kits and faces is because we've chosen to cease such packs on our site since November 2019 due to copyright issues.
