    You can add youth players to senior squad units. After doing this if you allow the assistant to assign the mentoring groups it will include the players brought into senior squad training. You cannot go in and pick them manually but once the mentoring groups are created you can add/remove the senior players you want to mentor the youngsters

    Here's a quick little tip. If you let someone else take control of youth individual training at the start of a save, generally they will set a position and role training. You can then take control over, and change the ones you don't like and only have to set it for new players.

    Gonna say this:FM does a terrible job of recognizing that your B Team is actually playing competitive matches that matter. In either Spain or Germany, I can have a B Team in a playable league, and players and coaches both will scream to move players on loan from the playable team, where they're getting regular minutes in a system that matches your own, to a team of equivalent or lower quality, with worse facilities, in a system that doesn't match yours.
    No way, IRL, would I be loaning my players in competitive football out to competition in that circumstance. The game needs to recognize when a loan experience is actually better for the player. And it doesn't do that.

    • @joaopires1761

      There's a few Portuguese clubs with B teams in playable leagues as well, and many more that can feasibly be promoted into them. But yeah, the AI does an awful job at managing them, often keeping them too empty for their own good - as a million players are loaned out instead.

    It's great that when you spend a certain time at the club and develop a certain style of play, bring certain type of players to the club and have been training the players certain ways through the years, then at some point you practically don't need to set the "develop trait" setting in the individual training for younger players any more, they mostly pick it up through mentoring, which also allows them to progress more as you can then give them some other individual training (for specific attributes)

    You can take control of your Reserves/U18s training, block out the training schedule for the year & then give training back to the respective coaches. They will keep the training schedules in place, but make any changes for rescheduled matches.

    With the loans, I always check the media prediction for the club as well if the club is in an active league. Player ratings are much better in a top of the table team than a relegation team. Had some loanee goalkeepers get great ratings in relegation teams mind. Be interesting to know though if a player was on the cusp of playing in the championship, whether they'd gain more from the higher rep of a championship bottom 6 team or the higher ratings of a top 6 league 1 team.

      Maybe try double checking training intensities that each player is set on, and maybe not use automatic if it’s too intense for the player. But u can also change what the automatic intensities are for different levels of condition (sorry if I didn’t explain that very well)

    • @pascal6871
      @pascal6871 2 роки тому +1

      It does sound like your previous training regime was not enough for your players to properly develop and that does reduce injuries by virtue of having less chances for injuries to happen. For example, if they train 2 times a day with a 0.5% chance of an injury each and then 3 times with 0.5% chance, you will see more injuries even if the players are perfectly fine with training 3 times.
      That the injuries were bad is just bad luck most likely.

    18:48 - I'm pretty sure stacking training types like this increases injuries (from my experience).
    I have a habit of flicking over to the training screen each time a player is injured in training, and in my experience (though I've not tested the theory) they came on days when that player's unit has a higher intensity. As a result, I balanced out my schedules to try not to push any particular unit too hard on any particular day.
    It'd be a hard thing to test, but I'd also be curious if it effected the ability of your coaches. I.e. Basically giving your attacking coaches the day off and then being swamped the next.
    On the flip-side: What's the benefit of stacking like this? I've heard phrases like "focus" and "theming", but it there a theory that FM actually has theming buffs?

    • @ZealandonYT
      @ZealandonYT  2 роки тому

      The issue is because of the unique nature of every player and situation there isn’t really a universal metric for who exactly good each training is, this was the best we were able to make it our tests but if you’ve gone through the trouble of testing and building one for yourself then you’re already ahead of 99% of people

    • @Oakster_
      @Oakster_ 2 роки тому +1

      @@ZealandonYT yeah, I'm aware of this issue and tried to acknowledge it in my first comment. The most "universal" metric would probably be a predefined database that is saved on the first day (so that the CA and PA are set // possibly add a transfer ban to all loaded teams/leagues, too) with an equally predefined tactic that is used across all teams of the respective club (which should thus lead to similar results in most simulations). Obviously the DB could be standardised even more but that would be hard to do for a single person. Then once the DB and tactic are in place, one puts the respective training schedules in for the upcoming season and simulate the season. Sure there will be some variances but it should give you a rough idea of how effective the respective schedule is/how effective it can be. If nothing else, adding some player progress screenshots could add some more visually appealing content (who doesn't love some "player development p*rn" with green arrows everywhere? ^^ ).

    I almost never loan out players because of multiple reasons and the most important one is that the time they spent away from the club dosn't count for the time the player needs to get the local player status for the european club competitions.
    In general my training facilities and backroom staff is also better than of most clubs interested in loaning the players. It's better to keep them at the club to receive training with great coaches and being mentored by the right players. I also fill up my reserves team with experienced players i can get on a free transfer or for cheap and for low wages to ensure that i have strong reserves squad that wins a lot. And you also don't lose much money if these experienced players get mad and want to leave because they never play for the first team. Just let them go and get a new one.
    I just loan out players when i'm managing a club in the UK and the player can't get a work permit. Then i will buy them anyway and loan them to a small club in one of the top 5 european leagues where the player is starting almost every game. Half a season as a starter at Portimonense in Portugal and you can cancel the loan because the player will get his work permit.

      It’s worse when Dortmund U-18s are one of the best U-18 teams in the world and they don’t develop for 2/3 years between 18-21.

    • @Taeerom
      @Taeerom 2 роки тому +1

      You can often get away with a decent at best backup goalie, at least one homegrown player will be someone that will be good enough for squad rotation, and if you are out one player, you can almost always get away with an empty spot. Especially if you have a collection of u-21 that don't have to be registered.
      Remember that squad players are important and valuable. A 2* 18 year old with 3* potential and a good personality is more than good enough to keep on the team as a backup/rotation player long term. He's never going to carry your team, but you need the depth and registration. Even a team of galacticos need reliable water carriers to give them some rotation. And you're better off with them being homegrowns that contribute to a positive environment in the squad.

    Which is more important between league reputation and playing time though?
    Should I loan a player to league 1 where the reputation and quality are slightly higher, or should I loan them to league 2 where they'll play more regularly and probably have a slightly higher average match rating?

    I have accidentally been cracked at youth development always on fm I would send my young players to leagues they would dominate in so they would play all the time. Never considered match rating had any effect so I had been using loans right especially a lot of the time that club was an affiliate so he'd be there for a few years settled.

    I have a question, when I arrange friendlies for my B-team (in order to develop my 18+ year olds), is it recommended to choose opponents of higher reputation - or does that not count here and I should rather go for easy cannonfodder for better match ratings?

    Have you tried how much the league rep and playing time matter? Lets say I get two offers for the player I want to loan out.
    The first: a rotation player in Ligue 1, middle of the park training facilities.
    The second: starting player in Ligue 2, middle of the park training facilities.
    Where will he develope the most? I've always picked the option where he is a first team player. Should I reconsider my life choices?

    My approach atm is to keep them in the u18s, training with the first team and in mentor groups. Then when they get to just the right level I start to loan them out. I don't feel like I'm getting the results I could be from doing the bare minimum so let's see if this video gives me any new tricks

    Hi Zealand. would you buy yourself an old player who is ok with no playing time and has a good mentor personality and put him in your youth team, or does he have to have playing time to be highly influential? Having some 30-40 year old model citizen mentoring your youth team prospects could solve all the problems in one go when this works

    • @dddgtsd

    So yeah about mentoring, I did what you suggested I bought a high reputation model citizen, his effect in mentoring was light, but it turned out he was kind of a decent player with 2 stars and 5-star potential at 19 so I wasn't that bothered by how his mentoring was useless. I figured with "model citizen" as a personality he would develop really well, he's slacking off in training (getting 6.0 despite having 0 unhappy reasons) and he's losing stats despite being an occasional starter for my first team who are dominating the league.

    Its a minor question but i am losing my mind at all of my cb injuries
    Oh, and about the video, it helped my a little bit, because i am obsessed with training young talents, even though i am sitting with one of my best schalke teams with all the money i could have, but i still like to produce big talents for my team without using much money on big players, only when i need some depth for one position if the youngsters i find are not good enough for what i need them to do

Because Im playing with FC Porto and got a player with a 2,5 stars and I want to play him cause he has a 5 star potential and is a CAM with huge passing, vision and dribbling. When a young player is 2 or 2,5 stars CA, I usually try to sub him in occasionally and check his performances. If he plays well I wait for an opportunity to put him in the starting 11. If he plays relatively well (we aren't really expecting Messi output from them, anything above 6.9 is well for me) on those games as well, chances are he is improving and can be a regular starter in the team

    I always try to loan my young players when they reach 18 but they never get any playing time. I'm at Bundesliga and I have an affiliate club at Bundesliga 2. They never play my players. I've tried to loan them out to the other clubs in 3rd league as well, I deal with them to play my player as a star player but they just don't. When I talk to them about that they always say he isn't good enough and I just call them back and half a season is wasted because they promised a squad role they can't keep. I do play them in U-19 league but I don't know if it is too easy for them.

    I chose to start as the Hungry Lions in South Africa. I have been leaning towards youth due to the finances and three seasons in i'm now in the top tier. The problem i am having is that my youth players are in part being poached, even though i cant seem to offer them a contract myself. What set of circumstances am i missing that allows teams to poach my players? Can i exploit this in my favour? P.S. i am using the Xbox one platform.
