The adventures we share are a small sliver of our lives. We are staying in the van all day everyday when working and the only time we leave is to do laundry, get gas, or go to the store. 6️⃣ Keeping our distance. We are trying to stay at least 6 ft from others, which truthfully isn’t always possible (and then we make sure we cover our face).
I am 90 years old. Born in w.va. Watched the construction of the bridge. My mother and grandmother stood with me on a big rock outcrop one day and watched workmen walk across that span on a steel support that was only about a foot wide. This was common practice during that construction and there were no hand rails. Itwas terrifying to watch. Have no idea what the fatality rate was, but those guys were really good
So glad you were able to experience Fayetteville (even if it was one day, in the rain, and during a pandemic)! There is actually a great spot right across from Long Point trailhead where you guys could have overnighted called Arrowhead Bike Farm. Super cool bike shop/restaurant/beer garden/campground/farm that offers both electric and non-electric camping (bonus they have a station for cleaning bikes that you could have used to shower Kona). Fayetteville is definitely a long weekend destination, there is so much to do there that we go at least once a year and do something new each time we visit. Thank you so much for showing the world how beautiful and special WV is, as a native I have a deep bond with WV, and l love when people share how special she is with the world.
I have lived in the area my entire life. It wasn't until my 40s began though, and started to take fitness seriously that I truly started appreciating the stunning beauty I grew up amidst. Nearly everyone I know who grew up here feels so fortunate to live in one of the most gorgeous and ALIVE places on earth.
@@AdventuresofAplusK it is. To the matter of not liking slaw on your hotdogs. Blasphemy. I think you might have to pen an essay on why West Virginia hotdogs are the greatest version of the hotdog on earth to be able to return to our fair state. Might seem unfair, but hey, I don't make the rules.
Hahahah I’ll write the essay! It’s more of me not liking slaw in general vs not liking them on the dogs. But give me some dang good slaw and I’m sure I’ll like it! 😜
I grew up in Fayetteville- and still in live in WV, in Parkersburg! So many memories, seeing the streets of Fayetteville! You'll find all kinds of cool places in WV- and thanks for the great video!

Just finished watching all your West Virginia Vlogs and i just wanted to say thank you for representing our state so beautifully!! The information, the scenic shots, especially the drone footage was awesome. I really enjoyed your videos. Please keep up the good work. And have safe travels.
You went to the Gorge!! Soooooo hoping you would. Fantastic viewpoint you found from the trail. It will still give you amazing views in clouds. Will have to go there next time. And you found the overlook we did, and panted up the 178 steps! The mill is so cool - never checked it out before - will have to when we head back. And you went to Pies & Pints!!! The Gorgonzola cheese there is ridiculous. Top 5 pizza spots, and we’ve had pizza all over America. Three spots to also see: The overhead views of the Gorge from Hawk’s Nest, the ground view of the New River from Gauley Bridge and the awesome Cathedral Falls in the same town. You did it right!
We saved the best for last! 😉🙌🏼 We has a blast, even in the rain. We wish we could’ve done more, but we have a feeling we will be back next fall. Thank you for sharing those other spots so we can check them out next time!
Great video. You’ve done a fantastic job with all your West Virginia video adventures. So glad we found your channel. New sub here!! We were just at the New River Gorge Bridge and did the Bridge Walk. You guys would really enjoy it if you ever get back. Thanks again for sharing. John and Bev

I just found your channel and I’m in love. Especially with this one. My father and his siblings were born in a small town just west of the gorge. My father would take me back there to visit my grandparents when I was a child. Last November I took my own family for a week long visit and it just felt like home even though Michigan has always been my home. West Virginia is a beautifully stunning state with long, rich history. So glad you were able to experience it’s beauty for yourselves. And a side note... go back and do the bridge walk sometime. I did it when we were there and it was unbelievable!! You won’t be disappointed.

I a,m from WV and haven’t visited since 2019. Love all the videos. I love the Thai GF pizza from Pies & Pies. I rafted the New River on Bridge Day one year and we able to watch some of the BASE jumping from the Bridge from the water. Definitely worth it to try some rafting.
And just like that I am done with your WV series. Great overall series! Awesome locations, awesome food, awesome adventures. I grew up in Ohio, moved to Pittsburgh for 10 years, and now am in North Carolina for the past few years. I have visited West Virginia many times and have frequented the New River Gorge. You shed a very positive light on the state and showed what this state has to offer. West Virginia is a simply great state for outdoor enthusiasts. If you get back to the New River Gorge area, I recommend a visit to Sandstone Falls and of course whitewater rafting. I have done both the Lower New River (many times) and the Gauley River during fall release from the dam. Not sure what your comfort level would be but both are awesome with great scenery. There are Class V rapids on both rivers but the Gauley is definitely more intense. A really fun ride but everything is just bigger on that river (during the fall).
We are so glad you enjoyed the WV series, we loved it there! So many outdoor activities and not very busy...our favorite! We definitely want to whitewater raft next time! We splurged on the Via Ferrata, but next trip we will splurge on rafting!
Just found your channel and have already subscribed. Glad you enjoyed our beautiful state. Most people have the stereotypical view and won't visit. You should tell them how wrong they are!! Tourism is growing here because more people are getting interested in outdoor activities and we have plenty to offer. Come back soon!!! We are some of the most genuine people you will meet.
One of the goals of our channel is to get people excited to visit new places, especially the ones they may not have considered before. And WV was an awesome surprise for both us and those who watched and had no idea how gorgeous it was!
Thank you so much for highlighting our beautiful state! It’s a bit of a hidden gem, or at least it has been for awhile. We just visited Babcock last weekend and it was crazy crowded!! I love the name of your blog as my husband and I are an A & K too and we love travel adventures! How cool that you get to do it full-time. I hope you loved WV as much as we do!
Yay another A&K! 🙌🏼🥰 It is definitely a gem, we loved WV so much! And Babcock was pretty busy when we were there as well. Definitely a hot spot for that classic fall mill photo lol
Awesome awesome vlog guys!!! You just can’t go wrong with so much amazing scenery, delicious food and Kona sightings!!! The fall colors looked AMAZING!!! We may just have to head to West Virginia next fall! Btw, I just looked and we have a Pies & Pints 20 minutes from us! 🤩😍🤤😁👌🍁🍂🙏
Stumbled upon your video, but so glad I did!! I love seeing others come and enjoy it as well. Hope you come back because there’s so many cool things to do in this area! Someone mentioned a few already, but Thurmond is also a cool place to check out. A little further away is Grandview, which offers many other beautiful hikes, as well as an amphitheater where you can catch a musical during the summer. Hatfields and McCoy’s and Honey in the Rock are the two most popular. I’ve traveled across the US and saw some beautiful places, but nothing compares to Almost Heaven WV!
So many wonderful places to eat in Fayetteville and adventures to have. The Cathedral Cafe, white water rafting and yes, you have to do the bridge walk.
Just found your channel recommended to me by YT lol! You made my cry with joy!! Lived near the New River Gorge bridge for work in a small town there for a year. Miss it so much!! Thank you for such a great memory recall. Wishing you two the best and will now be following your adventures
I’m from West Virginia and you got all the good sight seeings but if you ever go back you should go to Cass Railroad, lost world caverns, and the beautiful city of Charleston.

Thanks for showcasing West Virginia! For years, I wanted to go to Long Point, and you're the only ones I have seen actually walking that trail. Hope to do it this summer! Great video and content!
Great video. We have been to that area rafting and on the bridge. Head back there in the fall when they release the dam water on the Gauley River for about 6 weeks.
We were there in the fall and really wanted to go rafting! It was out of our budget this time since we had just done a via ferrata, but hopefully next time!
Beautiful hike even in the rain. Love being above the clouds and the colors were so pretty. Poor Kona looked pretty miserable, haha! I was wondering about her getting in the van so dirty.
You guys really missed out on the endless wall trail! It’s spectacular! There’s also another larger parking area just a little further up the road. I love that you showed our beautiful state.
I loved the gristmill...such a beautiful place that would make for a gorgeous picture on the wall!! I don’t know if I have ever seen such vibrant fall colors and to see them from the drone shots was an added bonus! You two rock with all your vlogs...I really enjoy watching everything you post! And, an added bonus is getting to see Konie Bear! Thank you for showing us such spectacular sites! 🍁💛🧡🤎❤️🍁
I live in southwestern West Virginia, and our history is a little underrated. I get to say "Have you ever heard of the Hatfield McCoy feud? I'm from there." There was the battle of Blair Mountain, the biggest civil insurrection outside of the Civil War, and I think 2022 is the 100th anniversary of it. Literal wars between the union and the mine owners.
I wish you would come back and take the Bridge tour. My son worked for them the summer of his Junior year of HS and just loved it. He Loved the view, apparently you can see for miles around and he was totally in love with the Peregrine falcon pair which had nested in the struts of the Bridge. I was very worried about him being under the Bridge but he was completely enchanted by it.
Watching you guys latest episode with my Sunday morning coffee is something I look forward to entire week. Loved the beautiful colors that you showed with drone footage at the mill. That surely was a picturesque mill! FYI... if you ever come across a PIES and PINTS during your future travels, do try their "Black Bean Cheddar, jalapeño, salsa, cilantro & Creme fraiche". Trust me it is a unique and unexpected yummilicous flavor!!! When we go there, we definitely get one of that to share!!!
Babcock was created in the mid 30’s as a CCC project but the mill has only been there since 1976. It was actually created from mills from around the state.
We went to West Virginia for our honeymoon. Relatives were from there. New River is awesome. Nothing compares to it. You took great footage. Loved your video. 🙂🙂
@@AdventuresofAplusK that's awesome! I recommend going to Nuttallburg or Thurmond next time your in the area. Nuttallburg for a ruined coal town with the coal conveyor still mostly intact and Thurmond for a ghost town vibe.

Loved this video! I live about 45 minutes north of Fayetteville and my wife, dog, and I come down here all time. Great hiking and climbing. Secret sandwich is a must (it caught fire and is being rebuilt currently). My wife and I got our engagement pics done at Babcock and actually got married on the Hawks Nest overlook.

@@AdventuresofAplusK I'm glad the rain doesn't stop you either! Come on back sometime, ya hear? My buddy and I go whitewater rafting all summer long so perhaps you can join us on the river if you come back(private trip). We have some awesome class 3, 4, and 5 rapids
Your channel is like watching National Geographic!! Incredible photography and that drone footage was insane...I hope you guys get a travel show on tv some day, it would be a great mix of education and entertainment!
We’d share them more, but in the eastern part of the US, as well as Midwest, it’s almost always a Cracker Barrel or Walmart parking lot, since we try to always sleep for free and they don’t have much, if any, free public land in that part of the country.
West Virginia is truly beautiful! Enjoyed the video very much.
It is such a gorgeous state! So happy you enjoyed the video!
What some amazing fall colors!!! And I swear I've put together a puzzle before with just that idyllic mill scene. As always, thanks for sharing.
That would make an amazing puzzle! 😱😍
There are many puzzles out of the mill. One of the most photographed spots in America, and def W.Va.
Oh my gosh, how exciting! You gotta go!!! 🍕🍕🍕
So glad you made it to Pies and Pints! It's West Virginia's finest attraction!
We loved it! What’s your favorite pizza there?
Stumbled upon your video, but so glad I did!! I love seeing others come and enjoy it as well. Hope you come back because there’s so many cool things to do in this area! Someone mentioned a few already, but Thurmond is also a cool place to check out. A little further away is Grandview, which offers many other beautiful hikes, as well as an amphitheater where you can catch a musical during the summer. Hatfields and McCoy’s and Honey in the Rock are the two most popular. I’ve traveled across the US and saw some beautiful places, but nothing compares to Almost Heaven WV!
Thank you so much for watching and for all of the tips! We cannot wait to come back! 😍❤️🙌🏼
We really enjoyed this video. It makes us wish for a year of van life to see the country.
We are so glad y’all enjoyed it! We are so thankful for our little home on wheels right now to be able to explore!
I really enjoyed the autumn colors and the pizza colors. Nice video!!!
Thank you so much! 🤗
So many wonderful places to eat in Fayetteville and adventures to have. The Cathedral Cafe, white water rafting and yes, you have to do the bridge walk.
It’s a beautiful area! Glad we got to experience some of it and we will be back!
This is a wonderful video of my beautiful state. I loved that you learned history of the area as well!!
Thank you Cindy! We love learning about the areas we visit!
Just found your channel recommended to me by YT lol! You made my cry with joy!! Lived near the New River Gorge bridge for work in a small town there for a year. Miss it so much!! Thank you for such a great memory recall. Wishing you two the best and will now be following your adventures
It’s so so gorgeous there! We are so happy we could bring you back there virtually! ❤️❤️
Another amazing video of our home state! Sorry about the rain!
Thank you so much! 🥰 And we really enjoyed the fog. Reminded us of being back in the PNW!
I’m from West Virginia and you got all the good sight seeings but if you ever go back you should go to Cass Railroad, lost world caverns, and the beautiful city of Charleston.
We did Charleston on a different day (that we didn’t film)!
You have to see the cranberry glades also
Your presentation showed that every day in the New River Gorge can be a beautiful day.
just found your video's and wanted to say that i have 2 uncles that helped build the gorge bridge. so many good trails and site's around the gorge. glad you enjoyed it.
That is so awesome! They did a great job! 💪🏼💪🏼
So strange but delightful to see my town being vlogged. I'm glad y'all got to see the gorge and some of our West Virginia fall foliage!
Your town is so awesome! We loved it!
Loved your review of our beautiful WV and all your videos! We are headed out tomorrow to the New River for hiking and fall colors! Come back when the weather is better!
Thank you! We loved it there and will definitely be back!
@@AdventuresofAplusK We tried to find the Secret Sandwich Society, but I believe it is still closed. I recommend the ladder climbing part of the Endless Wall Trail. The Bridge Trail goes under the Bridge so that one was really good too.
You guys are hitting all my favorites! So cool to see you in places I’ve been to a ton!
What are some of your favorite hikes or things to do in that area? We are definitely coming back!
@@AdventuresofAplusK the endless wall trail is definitely a favorite sorry you had to miss it. And we also know how to get to Beauty Mountain which is a popular rock climbing area. Hawks Nest is another great area.
We were torn between that one or Long Point as our first hike, but decided on Long Point for the bridge views. Next time!
@@AdventuresofAplusK that is a great choice Long Point is phenomenal!
thank you for touring our state and the good review. next time try to visit charleston where i was born for the sternwheel regatta. awesome time there. thanks again.
We did on a non filming day and it was great!
We have a Pints & Pies right here in Easton, PA!! I heard their food is good! That mill was beautiful!!
Oops, Pies & Pints! 😆
Guys Glad I found your channel, love the contents of your adventures, of my state west Virginia, and all of the other states, we have a beautiful country, Glad to ride along, keep it going
Thank you so much for watching Lonnie! We love getting to share beautiful places in the US!
Regrettably haven't watched your blogs in years, wow still out there travelling! I remember your Seattle days Peace from Australia 🤘
Hi! 👋🏼 Thanks for checking back in and watching! Been trying to (safely) explore as much as we can in our van!
I'm so glad you guys were able to enjoy New River Gorge. I spent 3 days and still wish I could have stayed longer!
One day was definitely not enough! We cannot wait to go back!
@@AdventuresofAplusK It's definitely a MUST SEE for anyone that appreciates the outdoors. I'd love to do more exploring in the Northwest area, but I want to have my van completed first haha. BTW the video was great! Looking forward for the next! Be safe and have fun! ^_^
Thanks a bunch David! ❤️
Super fall colors, great food, trek, parks and everything, loved the rain too. Thank you both!!
Thank you for watching!
Found y’all on Instagram because I follow some WV tourism hashtags. Absolutely love seeing you explore an area I used to live and I love very dearly. Made me miss my old home.
We are glad we could give you a dose of home! WV is absolutely stunning, we loved it so much and it definitely a gem in the US!
I am so glad you were able to come to West Virginia. I live in WV and it is the most beautiful state especially this time of year. You need to go to Hawks Nest and Cathedral Falls as well. There is so much more to see here also. Love your vlog too.
We could’ve spent so much more time! Such a beautiful and fun state!
So awesome to see a vlog highlighting the beauty of West Virginia! Next time, check out Coopers Rock. It is near Fairmont!
We really want to!
Love the show, we just got back from 4 days in WV. The SSS is a great sandwich place! Looking forward to the next state👍
Where all did you go? We hope you had a great time!
Thanks for showcasing West Virginia! For years, I wanted to go to Long Point, and you're the only ones I have seen actually walking that trail. Hope to do it this summer! Great video and content!
Thanks and thanks for watching! Happy hiking!
Fall colors are beautiful!! Great video as always!!😍
Thank you so much Annette!
Hahahah she was not a fan 😂 She got to enjoy the rest of the day in the warm van! Thankfully she doesn't get that dirty very often!
I grew up in Fayetteville because my parents are from there. Good to see my old stomping grounds
You guys really missed out on the endless wall trail! It’s spectacular! There’s also another larger parking area just a little further up the road. I love that you showed our beautiful state.
We are so bummed to miss it! We saw a decent sized lot, but it was just too tight for our long van to get through 😔 Next time! Looks beautiful!
West Virginia was a solid New England back up plan for the fall, so happy we chose to go there! 😍❤️
West Virginia is underrated as a whole! Interesting history, thank you for sharing!
Absolutely beautiful
Lol! The running made it taste even better! 😉 Kona says hi!
Another great adventure friends! Loved the views!
Thank you Jamie! 😃
Beautiful footage, especially those fall colors! We always like to try out local coffee shops everywhere we go.
Thank you so much! And visiting local coffee shops is one of our favorite things to do!
So happy that you enjoyed in our State. Thanks for showing the world what we already know 💙💛💙💛
Of course, we loved it!
That’s right, best state, 👍!!!!!
Ah nice! That sounds so cool! Trying to balance free activities with paid ones, but will definitely save up to do more paid ones there next time!
We couldn’t describe a better way to watch than with coffee! ❤️ That flavor sounds SO good! Definitely will try that next time 😋
Holy fall colors!!! Those were amazing!
Gahhh we cannot wait for fall to arrive!
Babcock was created in the mid 30’s as a CCC project but the mill has only been there since 1976. It was actually created from mills from around the state.
Very cool info, thank you!!
We're heading here today from Thomas. Watched your video one last time before arriving. Loved the video. Hopefully we can duplicate your fun!
We hope y'all have a blast!
We went to West Virginia for our honeymoon. Relatives were from there. New River is awesome. Nothing compares to it. You took great footage. Loved your video. 🙂🙂
Thank you so much for the kind words! We agree-it’s amazing there!
Island in the sky trail is my favorite at Babcock. Skyline trail is fun too but a bit longer.
Thank you for the hike tip! Definitely going to hike a lot more next time!
Awesome job guys!!! Glad you enjoyed WV😁👍
We loved it! Such an underrated and gorgeous state!
Fayetteville is my home town. Glad you guys had fun.
We loved it!!
@@AdventuresofAplusK that's awesome! I recommend going to Nuttallburg or Thurmond next time your in the area. Nuttallburg for a ruined coal town with the coal conveyor still mostly intact and Thurmond for a ghost town vibe.
@@bwheels5087 We had hoped to go to Nuttallburg last time, looks super cool!
@@AdventuresofAplusK it is very awesome, but ya have to watch out for the stinging nettles down there because there are tons of them lol
I had a run in with those in Idaho...the stinging part of the name is VERY true lol!
I love your channel and the personalities you two bring. My wife and I enjoy watching all your stuff. My family have been roadtrippers for over seven years. We do things a little different. Mostly because we have kids. I started making short videos of our trips years back but I have been stepping it up over the past year and evolving it into a sort of Vlog and getting some ideas from you two. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
That is so awesome! Your family will cherish looking back on those memories forever! 🥰🥰
I’ve been to a lot of the places you have been to in your West Virginia videos.. I got to go white water rafting at new River Gorge.. and got to walk Underneath the bridge as well...it’s a lot of fun...
We would love to go whitewater rafting next time!
Hi guys
it looks so nice there
sorry it rained
Enjoy and Have Fun.
It’s ok! It made it more interesting lol!
Even if the weather is not prime, the views look beautiful!🍁
My daughter has been rock climbing in West Virginia and has been to a Pints and Pie, she loved the pizza and she said the pints went down pretty smooth 😉
Hahaha we are glad to hear they live up to both parts of their name! 🙌🏼
That is amazing! What an awesome engagement and wedding spot! We were super sad to hear about SSS, but glad to hear they planned to rebuild. Such a cool spot!
Way to push through and hike with the rain! Everything you guys visited was so picturesque!! Classic Fall colors and views - so awesome!! We can’t wait to visit someday as well and see for ourselves ❤️ Aaron & Nicole
We absolutely loved this area of WV! Highly highly recommend it! Rain or shine 😉
As someone who lives in the middle of North Carolina, I do a lot of day trips to West Virginia. I can be in the New River Gorge area in four hours. I love the Endless Wall Trail. I always get there so I can hike it in the dark and be at Diamond Point at sunrise, it is beautiful. I love West Virginia, it's not called Almost Heaven for nothing. Great video, I enjoyed every minute of it!
We think West Virginia is awesome too! It's very underrated
Rafting on the New River is fun !
Oh we bet!
I am staying at babcock state park tent camping for a night before going to Seneca Rocks for two days. Def had New River Gorge on my list, I am glad I found the name of the first trail you went to on the video, and that you showed the SSS. I can't wait!
This place really is gorgeous and so many different styles of adventure
Awesome vid. Great timing covering this area before it became a national park!
We heard the exciting news today! Cannot wait to go back!
Love your content. Haven’t traveled this year but man I really want to after watching your videos. Y’all living it! Love it!
Thank you so much! Trying to make the best of what we feel we can safely do this year!
You pass by my house when you go to Thurmond.....the long point trail is one of my favorites, I would reccomend it to my guests back in the 1900's when it wasn't so popular
Nice! And the trail was awesome! Super glad it was rainy to keep the crowds away!
That would be sick!
@@AdventuresofAplusK we would be happy to take you 😊😊
Love this place. I want to go down and see the fall colors
The fall colors were so amazing! We missed a few areas at peak time, but still so gorgeous!
Looks amazing lunch looked really good can’t wait to go back!
The spot unfortunately caught on fire after our visit, but we hear they're rebuilding!
@@AdventuresofAplusK oh no! Good thing they are rebuilding it
I’m new to your channel and I am binge watching all of your videos😅😂
Welcome!!! Thank you for watching all of them! ❤️ We think they get better over time 🤣
Your channel is like watching National Geographic!! Incredible photography and that drone footage was insane...I hope you guys get a travel show on tv some day, it would be a great mix of education and entertainment!
We really appreciate that Margaret! ❤️
Beautiful scenery!
Definitely understand why it’s a lot of people’s favorite parts of the state!
I would like to see a little more about your camping spots as well as the hikes.
We’d share them more, but in the eastern part of the US, as well as Midwest, it’s almost always a Cracker Barrel or Walmart parking lot, since we try to always sleep for free and they don’t have much, if any, free public land in that part of the country. This night we slept at a Walmart haha 😅
We try to share them when we actually sleep somewhere more interesting!
Love it!! Really like your videos! You guys do a great job of showing the sites from amazing angles. We would love some of that rain here in AZ.😉 Keep up the adventures.
We wish we could send some your way! We actually kind of like the rain!
