not at all. Blackmore's is deliberately understated (only DP song he didn't solo on). Understatement is sometimes much nicer than "flashy". Granted, he'd doing a stage performance that requires some "flash". Steve puts in far too many notes for my liking
Like Steve Morse, but . . . he tends to "overdo" his playing. Ritchie kept it simpler - and didn't drown out the singer. They all are getting a little too "fancy" for me as the band gets older. And Ian always said rock music should be simple!

Don't getting your own lyrics straight is laughable. The pretty maids, jorn lande and the typsys cover this with much more effort, especially the polish guys totally nailed it right up the spot. They make it sound like about 98% to the first record while this one don't even match 50%

Change it here, change it there - by the way, he did not butcher the lyrics, he intentionally changed them and sings them in more or less same way for decades.

Hamerfall did the the same mistake for 5 year in a row and start to degress to a point they had to rethink how they perform on live concerts .. now they are back on track and Metall Santa get his shit strait and even the drummer dont fuck it up 20 times each song anymore .. also once you hit the bottom line and the fans need to do the heavy lifting whats the point of a concert then ?? a live concert should be a show of skill not a mule auction. there are still bands out there that keep the same high level since the beginning partwise 40 years ago ... there is no difference between a album and live event ..

I love all the guys in all the Mark's but it will never be Purple without Ritchie. That's just my opinion.
