- Metal Gear Saga is now complete. This video goes through the most important events of every Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear game. Experience this epic saga once again chronologically and in 8 minutes.
Metal Gear is a series of action-adventure stealth video games, created by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. The first game, Metal Gear, was released in 1987 for the MSX2 home computer architecture. The player takes control of a special forces operative (usually Solid Snake or his father, Big Boss) who is assigned to find the titular superweapon "Metal Gear", a bipedal walking tank with the ability to launch nuclear weapons. Several sequels have been released for multiple consoles after requests from Konami to produce new Metal Gear games. The sequels expand the original game's plot adding new characters opposing and supporting Snake, while there have also been a few prequels exploring the origins of the Metal Gear and recurring characters. Various parts were inspired by Hollywood films with character's names, settings and artworks often referencing them.

Give them a summary:
Big Boss became a puppet, killing his mentor later knowing she was still loyal to her country & her beliefs. Zero & Jack wanted to fulfill The Boss' wish in their own way, but both were wrong in what The Boss' true intentions were. Zero & Big Boss along with Para-Medic (Dr. Clark) & Sigint (DARPA chief Donald Anderson), EVA, Ocelot created The Patriots. Ocelot, EVA & Jack defected from The Patriots system. EVA disappeared, Ocelot gone as well & Jack became Big Boss & created the MSF (Militaire Sans Frontiere). Wanted to challenge The Patriots system & wanted to kill Zero for "betraying" him & The Boss. In came Solid Snake, a man who was 1 of the 3 in the Les Enfants Terribles project became that same puppet in The Patriots, killing Venom Snake in Outer Haven (Big Boss' doppelgänger), later on killed both Frank Jaeger (the supposed "Perfect Soldier" & Solid Snakes' friend) & the wrong "bad" guy (Big Boss) who had originally no intention of killing innocent people.
+Phillip “The Great White” Verano Solid Snake (David) retired to Alaska til 2005 when Campbell ordered David to stop his bro. Liquid in the Shadow Moses incident, who really wanted to kill The Patriots as well but didn't know why. Succeeded & stopped his bro., disbanded from FOXHOUND & he & Ocelot created Philanthropy, a two-man team recognized by the UN in stopping Metal Gears because of the fact that after the SM incident, Ocelot sold MGREX blueprints to the Black Market. Framed from taking pictures of the U.S.'s version of an Anti-MG thinking that he did a terrorist act even though Ocelot & the GRU were really the ones who did it, Solid Snake went underground then became the Big Shell incident, which was really a part of the S3 plan, & nothing but a stage play recreating the SM incident, Ocelot escaped, Solidus dead by the hand of Raiden, then the ending which was a recreation of Outer Heaven & Ocelot/Liquid wanted to destroy The Patriots system but failed 1 final time by David.
+Phillip “The Great White” Verano David in MGS4 was aging rapidly because of the fact that the Scientists who took part in the Les Enfants Terribles Project, made the 3 Snakes into nothing but a walking, breathing, human battle machine. Copies of the most Legendary & best warrior in the 20th Century, Big Boss. They couldn't produce children of their own, & had only 1 purpose, fight. Solid was the supposed "inferior" child of the 3 with Solidus being the "most superior" & Liquid who was jealous of both David & Solidus, had most of the defects but was still supposedly superior to Solid. Zero became old, made AI's to control & take over the System & one of them was destroyed by David. David saluted to Boss' grave only to find out that he, who was really in a coma after Zanzibar Land in the late 90's returned with Zero in his hands. All he wanted was Zero, no one else. Finally killed him, died on top of The Boss' grave. I know it's all spoilers, sorry.
Metal Gear Solid: It will confuse you but also involve you totally in its stories. It will stress you out but also make you happy. It will make you sad but will ultimately make you understand that you were doing the right thing. But, most of all, the Metal Gear Solid games will make you feel that you have made a difference. And that IS the most important point. YOU have pushed and endured for something better! It has, and will, stand the test of time. Snaaaaake!!!!

BOBdotEXE People started with Guns of the Patriots? Nothing would make any sense at all to them.
+Matthew Etter well it was the first mgs on ps3, some people never owned a ps2. (this was before the HD collection)
I had a friend who started with mgs4, after only knowing about snake from smash brows brawl, needless to say, he was very confused. (he returned the game)
I eventually (last year) I got him to play mgs3, and finally got him back into the series.

So my path was pretty interesting too,
In a few years I think I'll go back and play them in release order.

I hope Konami lets Kojima finish it. Pretty sure it would have left off right at the start of the Outerhaven uprising, maybe ever showing Solid at the very end with the epic face off. and then credits.

Watching the Metal Gear Saga from KefkaProduction Incident - 2016
omfg as soon as i hear Robin Atkin Downes's voice as Kaz when Ground Zeroes scene shows up.... I freakin get hyped. This dude has one of the best voices. Props to him for doing justice to that character. Kiefer did a really great job too in Phantom Pain. James Horan as Skull Face and Tara Strong as Paz as well. Also props to the rest of the cast!
