Interesting video Richard and will be good to score your predictions in a few years. I've got to disagree with the last audience question though - the Point Topic report that came out fairly recently and used UPRN data from all the altnets said there was 12.9m altnet premises and of these 7m were the only full fibre choice at the address.
Also in regards to France's slowing of the growth of bandwidth consumption this misses the point - bandwidth demand doesn't go up when a house first gets fibre - it goes up with the evolution of applications that use fibre. Until the western world is largely fibred up we won't see TV and on-demand run at 8k or even 4k as standard, it will stay at the lowest common denominator. Bandwidth will soar when the apps are ready and fibre is needed to enable this. Similarly we're just at the cusp of what AI will need in turns of bandwidth consumption in the future, again needing fibre as the enabler.

On the overbuild point raised at the end, the providers seem to share a common set of data (which us plebs dont have access to) which is causing some areas to get 3+ builds, and leaving other areas with either no builds or just 1 build. I see where the guy is coming from, the accountants at the companies dont seem to be factoring in the hit on penetration which comes with having a FTTP competitor. If I was a FTTP investor, I wouldnt be touching any Openreach areas, the country is very risk averse and brand loyal, we can see already even with Openreach's product being priced higher and having a really low upload speed, they have a clear lead in take up.
On the other hand I would be inclined to do a build in Virgin Media areas where Mustang has yet to start any works. VM are starting late on their builds and I wouldnt be surprised if they achieve some of it via acquisitions. VM are also charging very silly money which will make them a weak competitor at least for a while, they dont seem to have the same brand loyalty as Openreach does, a point I agree with Richard on.

Don’t know who the question master is but he’s talking nonsense to hear himself talk.
I work for the big one in network build, so have seen on the ground what’s going on. Meters by meters.
but I’m convinced after this to transfer to netomnia. Looking forward to my interview.

Hmm if OR will build everywhere then why do they have a checker stating they not building in my area (not building at all)? Is the checker or CEO lying?
