Synopsis :
Harischandra is the tale of a legendary King by name Harischandra who often called as "Satya Harischandra" for for his truthfulness, honesty and integrity. The Gods decide to test Harischandra and have appointed a sage Vishwamitra for the purpose. Vishwamitra tries myriad ways to get Harishchandra to lie or fallback on a promise, but all his efforts went kaput, for he was not tempted to be dogmatic about what he believed and followed. The heavenly Gods have impressed by the King Harischandra for being a staunch supporter for truth and honesty and blessed him with eternal happiness and thus his story has become perennial.

SV Ranga Rao was a veteran actor known for the movies Devadasu, Missamma, Gundamma Katha, Maya Bazaar.
Lakshmi Rajyam is an actress and producer known for the movies Narthanasala, Daasi and Srikrishna Thulabhaaram.
Gummadi / Gummadi Venkateswara Rao was a popular Telugu actor and producer, who acted in movies like Maya Bazar, Maro Malupu, Pelli Pustakam, Jagadguru Sree Kasi Nayana Charitra.
Relangi is well known for the movies Mayabazar and Missamma.
Suryakantam is most popular actress known for the movies Gundamma Katha, Mayabazar, Yamagola.
Rajasulochana is famous for the movies Pandava Vanavasam, Suvarna Sundari.

Beautiful story and songs
2:47:30 I experienced extremely intense emotions that shook my entire body when I watched this scene. I had to take a break as I sobbed uncontrollably. I'm usually never this sensitive, but this scene got me good. The melody coupled with the lyrics is extremely powerful. If this film didn't have a happy ending I probably would've sobbed for a week.
I couldn't find any information on this film on Wikipedia, but comparing both this film and Satya Harischandra (played by NTR), for me personally, this film has the most powerful climax.
Suribabu Garu as vasistudu ...his voice is great , also the discussion between viswamitra (gummadi Garu) and vanta (p suribabu garu) is exceptional
