I just started watching Geoff and I can't stop watching his videos.....I want more, I just love this man's voice.
He's incredible
This song and Geoff's performance of it moves me so much because when I hear it I picture the real life warriors who battle the flames. Firefighters who fight to keep us safe in our towns and cities. Hotshots and Smoke Jumpers who battle in the forests. Bless those who risk life and limb to save us when fire gets out of control.
I'm nagging on his page for him to finish the trilogy the The Last Goodbye. He brings all the feels to whatever he does. I've decided that my favorite Geoff or VoicePlay song is the next one, because they do keep getting better. The next VP release is just.........wow. I think an actual dwarvish version of Misty Mountains was done by Colm McGuinness and it's amazing too.
I agree he gets better & better. He's more comfortable in his upper register & throws in runs for fun now. I've always loved the original but Geoff has just added so much power with the bass, the slow start & the harmonies I could, & have, listen to this many many times!!
Geoff told us that this song is beautiful and he wanted to return to The Hobbit. Also his compatriots from Misty Mountains were all avaialble to do it. :) And we get to hear each of their voices individually, which is lovely. You see LIam Neeson, someone else sees Keanu Reeves. :) But it's all just Geoff, man of many faces, and many voices.

Yes, The Desolation of Smaug. Geoff said he was thrilled to be able to get the same three guys who did the cover with him in Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold. To come do the Dwarfs again as they were available. Kathy had the costumes in storage and Rick (make-up artist Extraordinaire) had kept the hair braids, beards & mustache pieces.

There's everything you mentioned. One can FEEL the soul of the Dwarves, lifting their last cup of wine before going to meet their fate, KNOWING they'll likely burn and die together, and KNOWING it is the only right thing to do. And I'm fu**ing CRYING again. I don't know what these things do to me, with what, DEEEPLY within my soul, they resonate. I would just pick up my axe, or my sword, and look my brothers in the eyes, and just RUN into the battle... Possibly singing, or even laughing. 🙄
There's something in this song, as there was in "Misty Mountains", that touches me in the deepest of my soul. Something ancient... At least that's what I feel. 🙄

It is absolutely not crazy to say he keeps getting better, because that is so true! I also would recommend watching his misty mountains cold if you haven't already. It's kind of like the prequel to this one. 💜
I did a search on your channel and it doesn't look like you've reacted to his Misty Mountains cover which was the predecessor to this one. It's the origination of the dwarf Geoffs and the first video of him I ever saw. (And forgive me if you have seen it, and I just missed it.)

Misty Mountains still is my favorite, just because it’s so beautiful to listen to and so soothing. This is not soothing. It is emotional and empowering but it’s not very calming so I won’t be playing it on my bedtime list. 😊
But this is my favorite of his videos. The set is not really all that complex although they certainly put a lot of work into it. But the simplicity of the set and the amazing lighting by Eli really brought everything to life. The arrangement is gorgeous, allowing each of the dwarves to have their time.
As much as I love his beautiful low bass voice, it is the tenor and bari-tenor parts that really got to me this time.
His acting has improved so much. Every time Thorin looks over at the others, I am reminded that he was the leader and the father figure and the person that everyone turned to. I know I’m projecting, but this really hits emotionally.
Just a hint: given your reaction, don’t put this in a playlist for road-trips or you *will * get a ticket! 🏎️

I agree that Geoff did an absolutely amazing job with this cover. And yes I think he just keeps getting better I don’t know how he has any space to continue to grow his talent but he does (all the VoicePlay guys really) jaw dropping talent.

WOW, WOW & WOW! 🎉 This Performance is one step away from "Perfection!" It's been quite a while since I've listened to such overwhelming synchronization of Tremendous Voices, within a Song. The amazing "Bass Voices," are sooo "Beautiful!" Especially when they join forces with the "Tenors" to blend together, does this Song "Blow Me Away," and leave me completely "BREATHLESS." Someone said in the comments on Geoff’s video that the Ed Sheeran’s original was a bard’s lament for the devastation to come, while Geoff’s version is a Warrior’s resolve to face the dragon come what may. As for your reaction focusing on how this made you feel, isn’t that the whole point of a piece of art? Be it joy, laughter, sadness, a call to battle, all art should move people.

Unlike when we saw the dwarves in Geoff's Misty Mountains Cold, where they pretty much stayed in harmony all of the time, this performance we get to see them all break out into their individual voices and even personality. And I'm so glad Geoff decided to highlight his high range more in this song - he does such a good job of it!

My first thought regarding the left most character, given the bow he possesses, is that he is Bard of Lake Town, the archer that is able to find the flaw Bilbo noticed in Smaug's scales.

Death, the end of the dwarven halls, it was coming and they are singing of it.

I see an Easter egg. Look closely at the Geoff on the far right. The key around his neck is the same key he wore in the video " Trapped 3 ". Oops, I was wrong. It was

nah, this is the key from the misty mountains video, it's a copy of The Hobbit key. the one in trapped is different, that's a handcuff key.
