Hello first! I know I can be very biased, but I think Arcane fans are some of the most passionate I have seen in a long time. I say this because people can tend to get very emotional about something they love when someone questions “simple things.” I say this because
I know Sarah might get some hate, but honestly it’s kind of nice seeing someone pose logical questions. Some might argue it’s just deductive skills/reasoning or not inferring things well, but I think people forget everybody is different and everybody consumes things differently, also everybody suspension of disbelief is different. I will say overall, I think this show is good at just sitting back and enjoying the ride, but posing logical questions isn't wrong either.
First I will say this, which I think I said before. I will admit shows/entertainment are very subjective. But I do believe this show is very good at two things 1)Anybody can be a villain in another person's story 2)They are all victims of some sort of circumstances. I don't think anybody is all good, or all bad, and there's a lot of gray area within many of the characters. In my personal opinion, this is one of the most nuanced shows out there.
Secondly, I will say kudos for not thinking Powder's reaction was kind over the top, I have seen plenty of reactions to this episode and ironically it’s always the most interesting because I think it tests people's suspension of disbelief in some ways. I will admit I wasn’t sold on her freakout on my first watch. I still don’t think they did a good job at leaving breadcrumbs that Powder is a little unstable, but if you do put yourself in her shoes, it kind of makes sense. She clearly has abandonment issues from losing her parents & mental issues.
And lastly, I think perspective is always important, we as an audience see everything, but obviously the characters don’t. Powder didn’t actually see Silco (that’s at least based off everything I inferred.) because of the angle and way she is looking in, I think he is slightly cut off, so she didn’t know who he was/who he is. Same goes for not realizing she killed basically everybody sadly from her decision with using the gemstones.
Also as Rory said, Marcus took Vi because in his eyes, he was saving her because Silco would’ve killed her if she went back.

Dont even know why they would force her to be in this reaction if she was so apprehensive about the show?

Also to answer a few questions, if I am correct, Powder is 9/10 here while Vi is 15/16. And again Arcane is sort of a mixture of things, (this is referring to the question why it’s called “The Lanes”) It first is a nod to the players who have played league for a long time while also introducing general audiences to their world, universe and lore. I don’t actually know why they call it “The Lanes” in the show lol, but it is a nod to the game because in league, the view is a top down camera which has 3 lanes (top, bottom, middle) and there’s a jungle in-between. I don’t play league anymore myself (I played from season 5 through season 9) but just a little easter egg for players. And for last context in-case you didn’t see it before, (I never provide spoilers, just helpful insights)
On this specific location in Runeterra,
All of the city used to be called Zaun. and they are located at Isthmus that connects two continents. They wanted to open up a passageway for sea travel routes, so the city used toxic bombs to open up a passageway.
Well the bombs were too good and basically caused one whole half of the city to sink. Then the top half of the city was re-named Piltover - aka "City of Progress" where the rich families of trade controlled most of the money and benefit of the economy. They also got better access to education, thus most citizens benefited from the fortunes of better technology and health. The lower half kept the name of Zaun - City of Iron and Glass. It's where the poor were mostly left to fend off on their own since the top side didn't do much to help them. It is run by the chembarons who run unchecked trade and criminal activities. Zaun also has to deal with the toxins left over from the toxic bombs so a lot of people are less healthy with less access to technology and medical support.
Combined though both cities have a symbiotic relationship and run parallel together
Arcane season 1 took 6 years to make an estimated budget of 100-120 million. That's almost 10-12 million dollars per episode. It's not a verified source, but a majority of the budget, 70-90% went to the animation studio that Riot partners with and left over is for marketing, voice actors, sound effects, music, etc. Main characters from the game at original release of the show were 9 - which are Vi, Jinx, Ekko, Caitlyn, Jayce, Viktor, Singed, Heimdeinger, and one more I cannot reveal for spoiler reasons.

7:10 when did we start counting black characters, and for what reason? Is there some kind of quota we are trying to hit here? Maybe i missed it if she had another cringy comment in episode 2 about Mel?

Thanks for the tip! We agree, unfortunately we can't increase the volume on our end without removing the video, so some of the next few reactions might have quiet audio but we'll fix that going forward for the things we haven't completed yet!
