Don't worry, things will pick up next episode!!! Can't wait!!! Mel (pretty lady) wasn't playing with the toys for nothing. She was picking out a gift for the bearded council member (she gave it to him in next scene). Her laughing saying "Good" when told she picked a children's toy not only shows her intelligence and ability to read people - but also shows how the council has kind of dumb privileged members.
Lastly in-case you didn't know. Arcane season 1 took 6 years to make an estimated budget of 100-120 million. That's almost 10-12 million dollars per episode. It's not a verified source, but a majority of the budget, 70-90% went to the animation studio that Riot partners with and left over is for marketing, voice actors, sound effects, music, etc. Arcane season 1 is an introduction to this world, characters, and universe. Season 1 included 9 champions from the game, which are Vi, Jinx, Cailtyn, Ekko, Jayce, Viktor, Heimdeinger, Singed, and one more I cannot reveal for spoiler reasons. And quick background on this specific location in Runeterra, All of the city used to be called Zaun. and they are located at Isthmus that connects two continents. They wanted to open up a passage way for sea travel routes, so the city used toxic bombs to open up a passage way. Well, the bombs were too good and basically caused one whole half of the city to sink. Then the top half of the city was re-named Piltover - aka "City of Progress" where the rich families of trade controlled most of the money and benefit of the economy. They also got better access to education, thus most citizens benefited from the fortunes of better technology and health. The lower half lower half kept the name of Zaun - City of Iron and Glass. It's where the poor were mostly left to fend off on their own since the top side didn't do much to help them. It is run by the chembarons who run unchecked trade and criminal activities. Zaun also has to deal with the toxins left over from the toxic bombs so a lot of people are less healthy with less access to technology and medical support. Combined though both cities have a symbiotic relationship and run parallel together
Hello! First. As said before, so excited to see y'all react to this, sarah for her first time wnd once y'all get into season two. I'm going to drop a few comments as stated before, going to drop nuggets and context for things, but I promise no spoilers from me. I think I said last episode, I will admit shows/entertainment are very subjective. But I do believe this show is very good at two things 1)Anybody can be a villain in other person story 2)They are all victims of some sort of circumstances. I don't think anybody is all good, or all bad, and there's lot of gray area within many of the characters. In my personal opinion, this is one of the mot nuanced shows out there.
