Personally, I feel like the sharps are the best with this piece. Practicing your D scale helps a ton.

Fantastic run! The only criticisms I personally have are very nitpicky; and I'm sure addressed if a lesson were booked ;D

Based off of the printed music it should be an F sharp. Watching the video it looks like I tried to play an F sharp nut might have heard in my head an F natural.

I think I’m pretty good on all the etudes. Just one question for you,
Do you think that the way you played all the etudes in the videos you have posted would get you to all-state?
I’m just wondering because I wanted to play the etudes in a similar style to how you played it here.

That’s a tricky question that can go a couple ways.
1. I expect there to be students who might play some of these cleaner than these videos. I try and get all 12 of the low brass etudes out in a week and because of that an advanced should ideally get a cleaner result after months of careful slow practice.
2. As far as style, it’s my goal to not do anything outlandish that would get you into trouble. That being said, music is still a subjective art form and every judge is looking for something a little bit different.
