Hi Mark- Great tour of your brushes and overview of a variety of synthetic knots; thank you! You have a very nice collection! Even though I do have a few badger knots, I am very happy using the synthetic brushes most of the time- they do a great job creating lots of lather and are easy to maintain post-shave. I hope your week has gotten off to a great start and all the best, Mark!
Thanks, Mike.:) While I like the natural hair brushes, due to my hard soaps, I more often reach for the synthetics.:) With the weather clearing, the week looks to be off to a good start!:)
along with the brushes I mentioned and links I provided,Yaqi is having an 11/11 sale on AliExpress. Worth a look. However, shipping times will vary. You might get the item in one week or one month.
My first brush was the Viking, very nice brush. 2nd is from Dr Squatch and decent. Just ordered a Boar brush as I want something a bit stiffer. I am open to any brush type except Badger after seeing a video of how they are skinned alive, literally. Might even look into a Horse brush if they get decent reviews.
You are the second viewer to mention this brush.:) Sounds very good.:) I have the Synthetic Shave Brush Pro Handle - 26mm x 54mm: www.stirlingsoap.com/products/synthetic-shave-brush-pro-handle-26mm-x-54mm
Man thats quite a stable of brushes Mark,I have been looking at the Yaqi brushes. What is your experience buying on Aliexpress any problems? Great review!
Thanks.:) I've heard nice things about Yaqi brushes.:) I don't own any so it's definitely on my list!:) They have a sale coming on 11/11/18 on AliExpress!:) goo.gl/vphE2u
Iair Spiner, I don't own a Silvertip, so I couldn't say. The Disruptor, though doesn't have as mush backbone as other synthetic brushes I've used. It splays a bit more easily but done'st have the firmness to exfoliate the skin and lift the whisker as much as other, more expensive brushes. Still, it's does a nice job, is soft, and makes a good lather.:) As I mentioned in the video, a good starter brush. I can't say how it compares to the Keyhole brush because i don't have one. I'm assuming the knots are the same due to the similar price.
I'm loving synthetic brushes more and more. I'm using them almost all the time. Vikings Blade Fire Mare and Dark Raven are wonderful. I find myself frequently reaching for them.:) I mentioned in one video that I had to double check the Fire Mare product information page as I thought I was using a real badger. Nope, it's synthetic. I think the Dark Raven and Fire Mare are softer than the White Knight. The White Knight has a little more tooth and gives a bit better exfoliating action, though. But it could also be just because my White Knight is older. Synthetic brushes keep getting better and better and softer. I'd have to get a newer WK to see if there are any improvements.
From a post I saw on B&B, The Straight Razor Design store located in Medina Ohio is closing. I've never been there, but if you're nearby it might be a worth while trip to see what they have left before they finally close. Medina is a little over an hour away from me, so I don't get into that neck of the woods too often. Kicking myself a bit. straightrazordesigns.com/
It is a little bit of a drive, but Maggard Razors in Adrian MI has an awesome selection of shaving equipment. It is a couple hour drive from Findlay, but really worth it when I want to actually see something before I buy.
Hi, LUIZS87.:) I don't own the Parker brush so I cannot say. I can say that I really like using synthetic brushes.:) I use them more than boar or badger brushes.:) In my opinion, each new brush seems to be an improvement over the last.:)
Love the Simpson Trafalgar T3. I did a review of it here: ua-cam.com/video/eKVlJqFDYOg/v-deo.html I happen to purchase it directly from Simpson on the Isle of Mann. I also did a comparison video of the three Traflagar synthetic brushes (T1, T2, and T3): ua-cam.com/video/2pvJD9QLnnQ/v-deo.html

Good information on the brushes, I like synths for travel as they dry out so quickly!
Agree, Peter Cooke.:) These brushes just keep getting better and better with each passing week/month/year.:)

Hi, douglas. A horse brush is one I have yet to try. I need to remind myself to get one and give it ago.:) Thanks.:)
My favorite so far is the Stirling Synthetic 2-Band Brush 24mm. It is perfect.

Mark, how's the splay in the Disruptor/Keyhole compared to the Silvertip? I'm looking for the brush that is the easiest to splay in the face.
Thanks!

@@MarkSzorady Sorry! I was referring to the Razorock Chrome Silvertip.
Great, thank you for the rapid answer!
Hi Mark, what do you think about the Razorock Bee Hive? Great video, thanks for the info!
I don't have the Beehive brush. I've seen it and would love to have it!
Would you go with synthetic Vikings over badger? Also the new design(Dark Raven) looks like a nice option. Thanks!
