    I just made this and, when tasting for adding salt and pepper, I was sorely tempted to grab a tablespoon and start shoveling it in my mouth! WOW! And, if, as you say, it just gets better after sitting in the fridge overnight...I am in for a MAJOR food fest! Thank you for what has to be the BEST tartar sauce recipe. I can't wait to try it tomorrow.

    Hey PMGK! I just finished making fish and chips for my family. Prepped the fish and potatos today. Spent several hours. They turned out pretty good. Yesterday I made the tarter sause. It only took a short time to prep. Then I let it mature for 24 hours in the fridge. While 90% of the work was the food, the tarter sauce was the star of the meal and the thing that everybody commented on and it was the easiest. Great recipe. A big hit everytime I make it. For me, it truly is the best tarter sauce ever. Thank you!

      Another satisfied customer. 😂 The only time I ever hear a complaint, honestly, is from those that won't actually try the recipe. They just look over the ingredients and decide there's something wrong with it, then write their discust. This one, for example, seems to piss people off that there is no Tarter in it. Others complain about the sour cream but I've got to tell ya... I was feeling lazy recently and bought a bottle of Louisiana's Tarter Sauce. Talk about an over whelming experience. Way too much dill and mustard and, a quick look at the ingredients, included egg yolk, which explained the color and the richness because it's base is mayonnaise, but then, along with preservatives, I saw vinager(no surprise) and high fructose corn 🌽 syrup. Well, needless to say, I tried it. I didn't like it.🤮

    I've never seen such an extravagant version of tarter sauce! I've enjoyed the simple "throw some sweet relish into mayo" version for a long time. Now. I want this! "The best recipe ever" is an understatement. Great!

    This is a fantastic recipe! In my opinion, you should use fresh dill if you can, and worcestershire and horseradish aren't essential, but if definitely does need to sit overnight.

    Does this taste like Hellmann's original tartar sauce? I'm 75 and remember it well...for me, it was addictive...! It came in a small jar with scalloped sides, had a dill taste, and capers...not at all sweet (the slimy sweet crap they make now is fit for nothing but the garbage can...like all the other major brands of tartar sauce at the super markets).

    • @PMGK
      @PMGK  6 місяців тому

      Yeah, I don't know how Hellmann's tastes but folks rave about my recipe and it doesn't even have any Tartar actually in it. 😂 Also, it tastes even better the next day after it's marination. 🍻

      @@PMGK Thanks much for the speedy reply. I will try your recipe because it's very similar to the one I make, which tastes very similar to Hellmann's, although there is...something...missing in mine. Maybe your recipe has it...thanks much again...!

    I love all the ingredients except -capers-, is it okay to omit them?

    • @PMGK
      @PMGK  6 років тому +1

      In this recipe, Capers are one of those ingredients you will never notice or realize they're even there but with out them, you'll swear there is something missing in the Tarter Sauce. You're call.

      Okay, good to know, so, I guess capers are in! I was given a jar by my Dad, who swears by them-and achovies!- Uugghh! - but he said the same thing-"you won't taste them, but they really enhance the flavour"! So, there you have it! I guess I am outnumbered and have to just go for it! Thank you for responding so quickly....

    • @PMGK
