I have made this fish several times and it comes out perfect every time. I will tell you it’s better with sparkling water than a beer batter it’s lighter not as heavy.
Since you've posted this, I think I've made this recipe at least 5 times so far (in three months). My son loves it. I use lime flavored sparkling water, and it is SO GOOD.
Just tried your recipe, and I must say it turned out fantastic! This was for my wife for early Mother's Day dinner. She loved it. Thank you, and a Happy Mother's day to you as well.
Girl, I just discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago and I've made several dishes from your channel. You are now my number one UA-cam channel; your recipes are amazing, and so easy! And I'm 67! Keep me cooking; as soon as I am able, I will donate to your channel. Your family is fortunate to have you
Lovely to hear but no need to donate to peoples channel. UA-cam works by the amount of views one gets they get paid off it. So if your bringing in 10 million views on UA-cam across all your videos you’ll be earning a good amount of money. So basically, you viewing her videos is putting money into her pocket! Ina. Good way of course as she deserves it. Good day
Sometimes being a stay at home mom it’s very overwhelming. Adding that combined with the pressure of having food ready for my family by the time that my husband gets home from work is mind-boggling to me because, my world shuts down every now and then, and I run out of ideas of what to make for dinner. But you have changed the game for me. Whenever I know that my mind is just blocked, and stuck on not knowing what to make, I just come to your channel and I select a video..... each and every single time it has been a hit. My kids and my husband love what I’ve made, Angelica. Keep up what you were doing. You are a godsend. God Bless you and your family, much love, from Austin, Texas.
I made this and it was the best fried cod I have ever eaten. I also used the same approach with some shrimp I got and my son said it was the best shrimp he's ever had. Thank you for sharing!!
I have not had this in years. I will definitely give this recipe a try. Thank you for sharing it with us. Hearing someone bite into the fish just sent me over the edge. All I can think about is crispy beerless battered fish. Thank you.
I tried this recipe, both the fish and the tartar sauce. The chicken was delicious! And the tartar sauce was out of this world! This certainly will not be the last time I serve it!
This looks really good. I’m going to try it with the two pounds of cod I have in the freezer. Little suggestion to those of you who might like a little bit of a lighter tarter sauce. Try adding one part sour cream to two parts mayo. Really nice consistency
Choice of words "my fish" and "my recipe" implies you are cooking/preparing food for "my family." There is a warm feeling well transmitted. It takes me back to my childhood....
I just made this recipe... omg! The family loved it! Thank you so much! The batter was super crispy and golden, very tasty. Only difference was we used Whiting fish instead of cod... but it was amazing!
I don't know how you do this...so many times now I've been craving a certain food that I can't easily get because I'm so far away from everything, this is like the 6th or 7th time you've posted a new recipe that has coincided with my craving! I have been dying to have fish and chips, but a GOOD fish (not Tilapia or some fake seafood fast food joint) but I'd have to drive over an hour! Thank You!!! So glad I found your channel!
Wow! Tried this last night with cod, and it came out perfect! I bought fresh baking powder (because it only lasts 6 months). I sifted the flour and stirred in the ingredients, including a whole beer. The cod came out looking very similar to yours, and my friends were impressed Thank you so much for this recipe! Delish!
Thanks!! I like your style and especially very happy you don’t drag on coating every single piece but rather just get to the job so it’s not too long for us🙌
Thanks for your post. I tried it today with a No Alcohol beer batter and more of a Louisiana/Texas bent on the seasoning blend (i.e. more spicy😁). The batter is crisp and airy.....very nice! I also did some battered fries. Pro Tip: pre-cook your potatoes in the microwave, so that they get fried nicely without burning or getting overly brown. Thanks again for the recipe!
@@Robbie_Digital I make baked potatoes in the microwave. Approximately 3-4 min each side (turn once). I poke holes in them all around with a fork first. Much faster than in the oven.
I made this the other night for the first time it came out amazing I used beer instead of the topo Chico wish I could of shown a pic thanks for the video
Oh WOW! Crispy fried fish dunked into that homemade Tartar sauce is the BOMB! Your family is definitely pampered and ALWAYS taken care of very well. Thanks for sharing and greetings to your family and you from Mexico. :)
Yes! This is different than most others. It is what I was looking for for My Argentina Sweet Shrimp 🍤 I bet they will be fantastic. I gotta tell you though I dip tbe shrimp in milk only then put some flour and spices I like into a zip lock baggie and shake. They coat beautifully and have a very nice coating not too heavy and they are crunchy. Quick cheap no waste hardly. No egg needed. The egg actually creates this hard gross piece that runs down the back of the shrimp. This other way doesn’t have that. I’m making myself hungry 🤤
I followed your recipe step by step and used La Chouffe a blond Belgian beer. I have never had such good fried fish, totally amazing. You selected a good blend of spices and the batter is excellent and I never deep fry . Thanks that was amazing
I just got back from the market and I bought Tilapia for tonight's dinner. Thank you for the recipe, perfect timing, I hope mine is as crispy as yours.
I'm starting this recipe right now. I can't wait for the results. I want to have this bread with drop dumplings soup. Now, let me rewind this video and keep playing it while I make it. I like watching while making it
I've been struggling with keeping batter on the fish for ages and I will definitely give your recipe a try (store packet never mentioned the flour dredging) thanks!
My favorite way is to use Krusteaz brand buttermilk pancake mix with beer, and add in a few ice cubes into the batter just before frying for extra crispiness.
I just tried this recipe today for Father's Day! It is way better than LJS! Super crunchy & tasted so good! For the liquid in the batter, I used Michelob Ultra Infusions beer that's flavored with lime & prickly pear cactus.
Definitely will be trying this one!! Can’t wait. Thanks again for your expertise!! Wow !!! That crunch sealed the deal. !! Wish I were there. God bless.
By FARRRR the BEST batter recipe! Wow 🤯. THANKS! subbed . Shared with ppl. It's so easy, delicious and CRISPY! Made with haddock and cod. Please ppl ...don't forget to flour the dried fish! Works wonders
7:04-7:06 gives me life *insert drooling here... I don’t even eat fish but the coleslaw is cold, the tartar sauce had set... I know my family’s gone just love it
Oh girl, that looks so very good!! I love your channel, you are awesome! I do have a question about the batter, why did you add baking powder, is this necessary, if so, what is the purpose, just wondering.
I double fry my chicken, do you double fry your fish to keep the crunchiness?
5 років тому+2
If I have time I will. I find that the double fry method keeps the texture longer. I just fried these once, they sat for 5 minutes and were eaten. Anything sitting longer that 15 minutes will eventually lose some crunchiness.
Success thankyou my Mum ate all her fish tonight, I cooked it just as you said. Fantastic. The batter was crisp and light, the fish was cod it was delicious.
Just made some this afternoon for lunch and it was just like the fish from my local fish shop and a lot cheaper as well I have bookmarked this page so I can make it again
I also found your channel a month ago. I've made your korean fried chicken 4 times!! The overnight marinade is phenomenal!!! Tender and very juicy. My new go to!
Thank you sooo much. I’m one of those people that just watch but never comment, this time around I really want to thank you for posting this recipe because I’ve always wanted to make battered fish but I thought that the recipes were hard. You make it look so easy! Thank you. I’ve made a handful of your recipes in the past and can’t wait to try this one. I know it will be just as delish as the others xoxoxo
Miss mama your cod in batter looked so delicious in batter and the tarter sauce looked so.good I.could literally taste it through your video brilliant northern ireland
I was just gonna ask if I could use any sparkling water! Thank you! Cannot wait to try this!

Love this comment, brought a smile to my face 😊 I hope your family is thriving during quarantine
The ASMR crunch at the end was the perfect touch! Your demonstrations are the very best.
YES! That crunch made the video!

Holy cow! I never tried the "microwave technique" with fries but it totally makes sense. How long do you cook them?
@@Robbie_Digital I make baked potatoes in the microwave. Approximately 3-4 min each side (turn once). I poke holes in them all around with a fork first. Much faster than in the oven.
@@dee_dee_place Can't wait to try. Thanks a bunch!

Would this batter work well for deep fried vegetables?
I would say yes...this seems to be her own version of a tempura batter, which works very well for veggies!
A very creative style of fish & chips. Can't wait to try it.
