Well. Most people now buy cameras like buying cellphones. It's getting ridiculous, in my opinion. I recently upgraded my 15 year old DSLR Nikon for a Sony a7IV. Im a Nikon hard-core fanatic, but the autofocus was the main reason to go for the Sony. Im also a Panasonic fanatic for cinema, but again, the auto focus made me go for Sony. So now I have a hybrid camera, and it will take incredible pictures and videos for years to come. If I see potential to kick start my photo cinema business again, I may go full Panasonic for filming, and change back to Nikon for photos. I find Sony to be heavy on the green side. I love Nikon's color science. So it's never about the gear. It's about you. Long ago, I started with a Panasonic HMC150, then a Canon T2i, and I sucked the live off of those two filming bands, weddings, etc, and people were stunt by the quality of myvwork with these cheesey cameras... I also had a GH4, but you know, lo light issues. I remember people buying Canon 5D mk this and that, and "yeah, it's the best," but then I would see their footage, and Im like.... yeah, super image quality, but they sucked at lighting, composition, etc. So! Get a good camera for your needs, master it, and master your craft. I wanna see what people would say when these companies come out with a 16K camera... For what? "Ah, I wanna see your DNA" 😂.
Having just watched another video with terrible audio, can I just say I really appreciate your nice crisp audio. Also, I really like my FX3. Definitely glad I bought it over the 7Siii
ask the majority of sony a7siii owners do they regret their purchase they will tell you yes. NOT becasue they hate the camera - its a beast. The issue is how poorly Sony invested in updating the camera. In light of all the new cameras that have come out and the FX3 having the same sensor but getting no love. It's the audacity. A1 users have the same distain. Glad you moved on. If I had known how awful Sony was going to intentionally abandon the A7s iii like they have, I would have waited for the FX3. But it will be may last Sony and I have made my money back. They got me this time. Not a second.
Definitely bro. I think they have made it more than clear what the a7siii is. It’s a beast of a camera, but it had gotten lost amongst the cine and budget vlogger cameras. Mainly with features and updates. Although I’m not a canon user, I can admire the fact that their higher end mirrorless/cine cameras are the C70, R5C, and R3. All serve their purpose and there are not any budget cameras behind them that have exactly the same or better features that make you question them. I’d be pissed if I got an A1.
@@MarbooJr I was a Canon loyalist. Everything in my bag was Canon - until they tried to screw the fanbase with that faulty R5. The heat, the codec, the rush to market, the R5c. I was just tired of the intentional crippling so I got the A7s iii. It’s been everything and more. Zero complaints. It’s just the arrogance and dismissive approach Sony took to the two most expensive cameras (I am including the A1) that has sealed the deal for me as having this be my last Sony. I’ll be going back to Canon after this but all in all I have no complaints about the camera. It has served me well.
Its a bad market to be selling in but still not great as a buyer haha. I think its crazy I have to pay $2400 for a used camera that is pushing 4 years old. Im waiting until they get lower because I really think the A7siii is a solid option, Sony just has no other options for videos shooters at a decent price point currently. Its for sure their plan to get people to buy new stuff all the time but thats every company. Im trying to get back into a better system and feel like the A7siii is more than adequate for 90% of people, if you think you need more you should probably just get an fx6 because the fx3 really does seem like a glorified siii with like 4 differences and just as many compromises. I definitely appreciate you making this video and sharing your thoughts!
It really all depends on if you can afford it. I wouldn’t do it if it will overstretch your pockets or you gotta get it on credit or something. But if you can afford it? I think it is a good switch. Especially if you can benefit from the ability to import luts, can utilize the top handle and want the DCI 4k and Cine EI among other things
Try shooting wildlife videos and other hectic stuff using a camera without and EVF, its why I cant switch and Sony do not cater for this in the FX. The screen is simply too small and not bright enough. Just my humble observation.
@@MarbooJr oh and I thought your reason were valid. Sony perhaps need to ensure they do not throw the babe out with the bath water... They need to cover both. Maybe they could provide an EVF for the FX three. Cobblers, then it uses the microphone/universal connector.
Really interesting to hear your perspective! Enjoy the new camera! 👏

Im thinking to sell my Sony a7SIII and buy FX3 for that extra functions. Would you recommend me this? or wait to March for a possible new fx?

why i sold my fx3 for the ZV-E1
Why I sold my Red for a DJI pocket 3
@@MarbooJr in all seriousness I sold my 2 REDS (dragon 6k, Komodo) for my fx3. Which I then sold for my zve1.

@@MarbooJr complete transparency tho, I also own a ronin 4D 6K
