This gentlemen has good intentions but I am sorry to say, he is absolutely 100% wrong. I'm an IT tech and i can assure you, If you do a lot of video editing or music production, you do not want to do it on an SSD drive. If you have a desktop computer, get yourself a 16tb HDD drive to edit on and use your SSD drive to transfer and sae your files. What this gentlemen and a lot of people do not understand is SSD drives have a limited life span. With normal use they are only good for about 5 or 6 years. That is because they have a limited and set amount of writing capability before they wear out and just die. IT's like being a smoker. Each cigarette you smoke takes a day or two of your lifespan away. Even more so with an SSD drive. Once an SSD drive dies. That's a wrap. There is no retreiving any file that was on there. They are lost forever. Video editing, you are constantly writing and deleting data and that will wear that SSD drive out QUICK. If you dont mind replacing that drive in a year or two and are willing to lose your data...go ahead. lol. Use an SSD drive for your operating system and to store completed files. Do not use them to edit at all.install your editing software on the ssd, but go into your settings and dedicate the actual writing processes to your HDD drive. WIth a good HDD drive like a WD black series your speeds will be just fine . The only time you would lose speed is if you installed the software on the HDD drive. You always want to use two hard drives regardless. Even if you have no SSD and jsut an HDD drive in your computer. You always want one drive dedicated to the software and another drive to be the workhorse so your software doesnt bog out and your editing session will be as smooth as possible. Installing the software and editing all on one drive will strain your drive AND your system.... No offense to the man who made this video. But what i just explained will save you a LOT of trouble. Also, if you dont have at least 32gb of ram you are already starting off on the wrong foot. That is the most important piece of the puzzle. If you dont have at least 32gb of ram in your machine and you are a video editor or are planning to. The first thing you need to do is go shopping. If you are serious about video editing and are wanting to go all in. Invest in a good desktop computer that has a high end video card with ray tracing capabilities like the Nvidia RTX 4080 super. A higher end Intel or an AMD x3d cpu that has 16 threads and put 64gb of ram in it. I dont care how powerful your laptop is. If you are contantly video editing on a laptop you are going to kill it.there isnt enough air flow in a laptop and it's internal organs will eventually succumb to the constant stress and heat that it is being put through. Ask any gamer what eventually happened to their " Gaming laptop" after constant use, they will tell you their horror story about wasting a few grand on what is now a paper weight and how they went back to their desktop... They might be powerful adn they might be branded a gaming laptop, but wht they dont put in the details is the fact that they are only meant for the casual gamer, not a die hard. Same scenerio for a video editor. Photo editing. no problem with a laptop. Video editing? no way. Notice how hot your laptop is after a nice long video editing session? Thats because you had basically been holding it over a fire and cooking it. I feel bad for theb people who ran right out and bought an SSD after seeing this video. Shame....

my a7siii is still in version 1.01 still but i need to get Ver. 2.15 → Ver. 3.01 → Ver. 3.02 and knowing I need to update it chronologically, I can't find any firmware updates prior to 3.01 how can I find the old firmware updates?

Hey Mike nice video. I notice in both mine and your videos our audio is a bit screechy and too much treble or something going on compared to a channel with millions of subs. What are we missing? do you know what i mean its like a screechy a bit. like its still fine. i think its something in our settings or i dont know. what do you think?

Thanks man, was looking at so many reviews and everyone is all over the place with it. You were straight to the point, covered the long period recording issue of overheating, I'm sold. Thinking of getting two for 2 different angles. Which lens would you recommend? I'm basically interviewing either 1 or 2 guests at a time, focus would be on them chest up with their head in the center (each has a mic straight under his mouth connected to my audio interfrace). Also this camera is constant frame rate and not variable frame rate right? And at 4k, with a big memory card, can I record 1h30 to 2h podcasts? Does the battery last that long too? Thanks!! :)

That studio is Painted Tiger in Glendale, AZ. Pretty much my 2nd home. Wonderful place, the owner is amazing. From what I'm seeing in the video, the folks filming are just using the lights that live at the studio. Mix of various brands.
