I really love that you're not rushed to finish this! And that instead of shoving it into your schedule, but stick to only doing history twice a week!:)
I think doing it this way has worked so well for us because my kids didn't get burnt out on it. They stayed excited about it.
Considering doing this at our co-op, we have less than 30 weeks. Do you think it is possible to shrink down a few of the lessons? Trying to gauge is we can make it work in our allotted time.
Definitely! You could pick and choose or even split it over 2 years. That's what we did.
Thanks for this review, very helpful! I think we will try it for next year
So great how far into modern history that this curriculum goes!
Yes! It has been perfect for us!
Do you add in the extra read alouds? I'm A mom of 8 and I'm afraid I won't have time. Do you have tricks to help your kids pay attention to the lessons?
I don't do alot of read aloud books. We tried it our first year and it just wasn't working well for us. My older kids read chapter books as individual reading and I sit down and read a small book with the younger ones but we don't dedicate alot of time to read aloud books anymore. I understand the importance of reading but I also make it work for us. I usually let them work with there hands while I read the lesson (doing their workbook page or a puzzle of drawing in a notebook) or they take turns reading with me.
Great review! Thank you:)
What grade did u use this for?
We used it across multiple elementary grades from 1st grade to 5th grade.
