It’s unique and there are some great scenarios out there. The biggest hurdle - you needs lots of terrain.
I played this back in the 90s with 15mm minis.
A lot of people like to ease of play versus brookhurst hobbies overlord and Eastern front rules that can't remember the name
Great, interesting looking rules. Thank you. For Company we use Flames of War or Battlegroup, but I will give CrossFire a try
You should buddy, will be the first one to watch that!
I throughly enjoyed this review. I could watch a 1hr vid on Crossfire. Well covered. Inspiring.
Hmmm... 1 full hour you say? Hmmm...
Lol, Thanks, Paul. Still a great game after all these years. Maybe I will do a small BatRep with them I always had a good time playing the,.
~K
The GM's Alcove I’ll definitely watch that.
@@Forge_n_Brush you should definitely do it
Nikolay Perepelitsa - Lindy Beige has posted several Crossfire vids on youtube. He’s a big fan of the rules.
Hi mate. I really like the simple and fluid game play of this rules. In the moment my brother and me try to modify the rules for our kids for their "Floor Wars" while going through lock down, a 1000 times better than 1 minute with an Smartphone or any computer/console.
My wife goes nuts every time they use our living/dining room as war ground...now she uses my mancave as female refugium😁
Stay save and healthy👍
That's awesome! 'Floor Wars' is where it's at. Take care.

Nice video and thanks for the discussion Fritz! Heard about this game, but didn't know much about it. Sounds very unique and glad that it works well solo, may have to check it out sometime, cheers!
Been playing 20+ years. Great game system. Have played the 'other' more popular mass marketed systems but they usually fall short. No I-Go-You-Go here, the alternating initiative system keeps everyone involved the entire time. No measuring is a plus as well.
Nice look at this unique sounding set of rules Kurtis. I'm a bit of a rules junkie so I might need to pick this up.
Still one of my favourites
They look pretty cool
I've seen this one before but never checked it out, thanks for sharing it Kurtis
good game. nice review
It's better than the current more commercial games, that seem more like taking part in a car park..... or tank park. Totally unrealistic in scenarios and mechanics, with both players knowing exactly the make up and distribution of the opponent's forces.
Thanks for this
Great review.
Seems it could be pretty adaptable to Vietnam type warfare or am I incorrect?
I think it would be pretty easy to adapt to that era. You would just need to organize a command structure with platoon commanders, company commanders, and so on. There are some pretty good ambush rules to, could make some interesting scenarios for Vietnam.
Few adaptations already exists, check out Steven's Balagan website. Crossfire could also work for time period from ww1 to modern warfare
There is a Vietnam modification to the Crossfire rules called "Incoming" where each base is a fire team rather than a squad.
One of my issues with the game is that building an army is kinda hard. It kinda just gives you some large forces and lets you modify them. The modern solution is a force builder, letting you construct the force bottom up.
Well said.
