Can you send me the engine manual as pdf file or link where did you get it? Very good video.😀
Also VERY surprised to see how nicely that engine was rebuilt
Great videos keep them coming
Thanks man! Hopefully I can get this next one out in the next couple days.
Love the D24 vids!
The background music was a nice touch might I add
I am building one of these myself. I need to bore the block over .010. I need help finding a reliable sorce for parts. Does anyone know of a reliable sorce for parts?
Here in the US, we have VE PartsPlaceInc, they have oversize parts for 1.6Ds. that's the only source I know of.
I now know far more about VW diesels than I would’ve ever expected, and I’m not upset about it
I like the humour, quite glad this here channel found its way into my recommendations.
Thanks! Glad to have you here!
Love the background music!
I wish the copyright bots did too :(
Too much copying VGG but you’re videos are super cool! I’m hooked
Lol, way too much of Derek's vocabulary has filtered into mine over the years.
Actually 6 cyl more common with 06A/038, except vacuum pump driven by camshaft.
d24t
Often a crank does not need to be turned undersize. Sometimes when the engine gets oil and filter changes on schedule, and is made of high quality parts, a polishing is all a crank needs at rebuilding time. New standard bearings can be fit. Other times if a crank has wear, and the right undersize bearings don't exist, the crank will be welded up or hard chromed back to standard size.
I'm so glad to see someone actually overbore and engine and fit oversize pistons. Too often I meet someone who buys a used car that advertises a rebuilt engine. It drives okay for a few months, then runs horribly, because all someone did was quick hone cylinder bores. Never mind measuring piston to bore clearance. They may have rolled in bearings, but I doubt they even bothered to do a plastigauge test.
Instagram?
@hooptie_20vt I'm not very active on there, but probably will be if the channel gets some steam behind it.
