I've supported Redcat for over 15 years and follow their progress. I'm proud of their improvement and now they have a variety of different type of trucks and cars.
@@flat-out well maybe I was a snob but some of the way older stuff I had would be hard to get parts for when they broke so they’d sit more than run. Not even close anymore though. Parts are way easier to get if they even break now.
Redcat really stepping it up….if that was an axial or vanquish build I’m sure it would be a $600-700 rig.

Next rig for sure! Really hoping they will add another color option, love the black and red but the black definitely shows the scratches not a huge fan of that! Loved the vid man! Good honest review while wheeling the rig in real time! 👌
Red and Black are great colour combo...just like the all the Air Jordans BRED colour schemes.

Vanquish with the Stance put other companies on notice that a solid rig can be had bone stock out of the box. Hopefully other options are next. The best way to grow this addiction/hobby is affordable solid performance RTRs. Nothing worse then helping someone into the RC world crawling world and they have to upgrade literally right out the box.

Chalk one up for the underdog! A definite nod to Redcat for listening to the customer. Fusion, Carbon rails are upgrades I would make on any trail/ crawler rig I would buy.
When I got my first crawler, it was the Ridgerock and it’s been so awesome crawling and trailing with it, especially on 3s. I’m again awestruck by Redcat today just from watching your video. Thank you, bro. I might get this some day for Christmas gift or something. Peace out from Maryland.
I did find the stock tires on the RR to be underperforming a lot for crawling, so I got the Injora Bully Comps.
At 399 i wouldn't complain at all! Think of all the people that will be able to actually afford to get into the hobby/sport! Good job redcat!!!!!!!
I just put a Fusion SE in my Capra, along with beadlocks (spent around $150 in total on what was a $400 RTR), and it certainly doesn’t have that body or accents or chassis. $400 for this setup is insane.
I don’t have time for crawling lately but I’m highly considering grabbing one of these. They look great and perform very well from what I’ve seen.
I am thoroughly impressed with Redcat, Not many companies listen to their customers the way they have in recent years; This is the type of stuff that keeps competition alive in the market. Axial and others would do well to rekonize. Thanks for the review brother

Redcat are a US base company, that got me into the hobby and I want them to do well.
I really hope they take the profits from the Ascent and design some decent high pinion axles and better geometry for steering and suspension.
The chunky, unrefined axles dont do any of thier crawlers any favours.

A bogger-style tire is never going to excel on slickrock, but I think it's probably a good design for the mixed terrain most of these trucks will see. I hope that you mount some of your favorites, and get it back out to see how it does on comp rubber.

Best bang for the buck for sure! So the only things that's missing is velcro on the side of the body and the battery and metal gear sometimes along the way. Links looks better than the rtr Stance, Vanquish should have put fusion se or at least a 1080. They must do a rtr Stance mid upgrade pack for links, drives shaft and combo. Or make the switch for the next gen rtr Stance. Part brand want to sell parts!

Holy crap I've watched other trucks where it's been dug out at the bottom not be able to make it that was crazy man them tires may be really good once you get them scrubbed in
Gotta say, not a huge fan of Redcat but this does open my eyes to the brand. It'd be interesting to see this truck compared to a capra or other comp style trucks to compare the performance

Performing that well on RTR tires is amazing. No matter what tire you get out of the box you'd probably want to get a set that works well in your environment. I wonder how they compare against the TRX-4 Sport and Vanquish RTR tires.
Nice. Lovin' that Fusion RTR setup. Hope other companies follow that lead. Its a big cutomer cost saver.

That’s the Black Sid version 😂 but ya nice rig I have the Ascent with a ton of upgrades so it’ll be interesting to run them side by side. A angled chassis would’ve been nice but that’s a heck of a value when you break it down & the performance is very nice the articulation is much better no more front wheel up in the air like the original Ascent.

I paid $399 and put in about $100 extra in mods and even did a few free ones of my own. Im definitely not done but even with just the little bit ive done its a performer. I hated how the cab set forward of the skids and how far the front bumper stuck out so i found a way to move the cab back push the bumper in giving it a better approach angle. Plus it got rid of the body rub.
I’ll buy one once the blue edition comes out, blue is better-blue is faster 👍

interesting you noticed the drive shaft oddly placed in the rear... any idea what or how or why they would do that?
glad to hear you seeing the same; redcat basically put out what others had done to their ascent. though i wished they'd gone a little further.
Need to change the mounting location of the front shocks on the axle like they do on the DSM carbon chassis and leave the rear in the stock. Definitely remove the internal springs. Have my wife's setup almost exactly like this one but with the DSM chassis.
small question, whats your favorite wheel tyre pairing and electrics set up? looking for a good all around set up, if it helps to know i live in an area that can be wet and slippy, dry and dusty with area's of grass

Got a ? For ya Brother, where does the Ascent fit In comp wise? Class 1 I'd assume, Class 2 but the flat skid would be a huge disadvantage.
So should i consider this a legit option vs a Vanquish RTR now? My step son and i wheel together and hes getting a redcat 1/10th so i now am shopping for my first 1/10th.
That's why you paint lexan body's from the inside. Then your paint doesn't scratch off. Plenty of how to's on here.
Not if you do it right never painted a lexan body inside in twenty years .never liked the fake plastic shine it gives painted inside .
Also the tires are a bit softer than the Everest.

This is the first crawler body from redcat that looks decent, everthing they had in the past was crap :D
Still not buying anything from redcat, not a fan of the other products... I just look at crawlers.
Thank goodness they dropped weight to add weight? So if you are adding a bunch of extra weight why is the carbon fiber frame important again?
Because they took weight out of the chassis and added it to the axle. It’s not about total weight it’s about where the weight is.

nothing like 20% overdrive with protals from the factory but with a fucking chassis mounted servo. is it trying to be a purpose built crawler or not?
