Instead of doing a "fjord cruise" in Oslo, you could just take the normal ferries out to the islands in the inner Oslo fjord. They are public transport and are covered by a normal public transport ticket. Getting a daily ticket is only like 12€ and covers all the islands. This is useful advice for the admittedly prettier fjords in the west too, such as Lysefjord or Geiranger. Instead of an expensive cruise, just do the public transport boat and get the same sights for a fraction of the cost!

@@tharindunaphtali In Oslo it's just over the counter or using an app (the transport company that operates all the public transport in the city is called Ruter, their logo is a hashtag), the rest of the country I don't know.

I think this applies to every single part of the world actually. Once it is called cruise, or is in other ways affiliated with tourism, prices seem to rise sky high.

Hello Natasha, I discovered your channel today, thank you so much for taking us to so many places, I identify a lot with the Viking culture, it feels like I'm from there, even though I turned 49 this year, music transports me around the world, I've lived in Eurola for 4 years, I live in Porto Portugual, but soon I will make today's plans come true and go to Norway or Sweden, they are the countries that I am literally crazy to be and live.
Thanks again for the opportunity to be there for your eyes.

Time, huh? It's a commodity that we take for granted until we have so little of it left. It's a joy to have and an even bigger one to give away to those who need it. Time slips, time slows, and time vanishes in the blink of an eye. Which is why it's so refreshing to watch those who acknowledge what time is and who relish every moment. This is why I follow you.

My actual experience with Norge, is an over the day visit to Narvik when I was a teenager on a school ski-trip. That and reading most of Jo Nesbø's books.
In Narvik I had one of the best _landgångs_ I've ever had. This was back in the "dark ages", which somehow in contrast, seems quite bright these days.
My westernly neighbour has been on my "to visit again list" ever since, especially the idea of spending some time on the Hurtigruten. Stupid me have not
crafted the opportunity to go though. But I imagine wonderful vistas, good people, and excellent sea food to try. (sans the sea urchin... well maybe)
(... I think that will buy a lotto ticket tomorrow...)
_Landgång_ is a long sandwich. Imagine a short, or long, baguette; filled with niceties. Seems to be a Nordic thing from the early 1900's.
The word _landgång_ is the same as for the _gangway_ used to embark and disembark ships (a long plank).
(I've had no experience of the certain world wide sandwich chain which sells them, but I can with a noncommittal shrug, accept their "foot long" as a handwavy reference.)

And lastly Oslo isn’t exactly the place you go to experience nature, unless the beach and swimming. Tho Oslo is surrounded by forests, but it’s the culture events we have, the shopping and food scene yes. But depends in your needs and expectations. Norway is so much more than the stereotypical fjords that are only found along the western coast going north. We have beaches, farmland/fields, hills, forests, mountains, and arctic tundra. Even rainforest. Sure, the fjords are beautiful, but Norway is more than that.

We are not the “most happy per say”, but rather content with life amidst all our personal struggles… and it’s because of the freedom of living in a well functioning democratic country that takes care of its people, little corruption, and crime, trust between the population and the government, free education and universal healthcare, the list goes on and on. Dunno why we like coffee so much. I prefer tea. And we also love taco (texmec), as we have Taco Friday.

12:38 Ironically, she may have been warning you of the criminal stuff going on. Based on the signs and stuff in the shot I would guess you were close to the area of Oslo called Grønland, where the cops really struggle to fight the increase in gangs, criminal behavior and drug sales.
On the other hand, we do have a "right" side to walk on depending on the street. If you're walking on a sidewalk or pedestrian path, you keep to the right as you would while driving. If, on the other hand, you were walking in the actual street where no sidewalks are available, pedestrians keep to the left and cyclists on the right. This to make sure both pedestrian and driver see each other clearly when meeting, and to minimize the time a car would spend to pass you crossing into the opposing lane.

By the looks of the video, she might have passed the spot where alot of homeless and drug addicts hang ("Kiwi Storgata" if you Google). They are not the type who just attack/rob somebody, but I could get pretty awkward since their mental state is out there. It is like 50m behind her when we see "Gunerius", so she might've been on the way there. I don't think she'd be in any danger, but you should not go there unless you just rush past. And ofc a camera could be intereseting for criminals, but they are allowed to be there by the Police, so if any shenanigans occur, they just make it worse for themselves. Dont park your bike there, tho.

You went to the Oslo Street Food at Vippa, but they have more variations or foods to choose from had you gone to the other 3 locations, one near Akerbrygge, one close to the Opera, and the main location down town by Sentrum Scene. And apparently we Norwegians are at the top when it comes to drinking the most coffee in the world. Also I hate going to public toilets, not just in Norway, in general as people are pigs. I only go if I really have to. And I thought ours was bad, I recently came back from my 1st time in Edinburgh Scotland, and their public toilets was so bad it made the ones we have in Norway, luxury. The public road side toilets are the worst. Never use those. Better off in nature or go to the gas station. And I live in Oslo, and never been to Akershus Festning😝🫣😅 Burgers isn’t traditional, but fish is. I hate fish. We have fish balls, fish cake, fish pudding, fish sticks, fish gratin, and fish soup. I prefer reindeer, whale, moose, lamb, chicken, pork etc. Traditional foods are basically related to Norway being a farming and fishing nation rich in natural resources. A lot of stews, casseroles, soups, roasts etc. Especially with venison (reindeer and moose), lamb, pork and fish. As well as birds… and lets not forget the good old potatoes, cabbage, onion, parsnip and carrots.
