@@MrMKE100 Yes, indeed, it is. Asserting that the government represents the people does not exonerate your position. If a solitary individual expresses a refusal to contribute to taxes but is still compelled to comply, the imposition becomes tantamount to theft. The utilization of taxation for public welfare does not absolve it from the conclusion of being a form of theft. Your argument poses more substantial challenges than those you face from my standpoint. It is noteworthy that even criminal syndicates provide services in return for extorted funds. I would advise you to engage your intellect before formulating your response. Reflect upon whether your objections might be lacking in sound reasoning due to insufficient cognitive development. It is plausible that you have been subjected to ideological influence. I implore you to contemplate this possibility, as it could be beneficial for your intellectual growth.

Well done getting to the peak. I remember my joy of standing there too, was 11-12 years back then and not all in my class made it to the summit. That was a one week school trip, kinda cool thing as not all kids had a mountain cottage, even so, all in my class learned the basics of hiking. I am not sure why skiing down was a challenge, if experienced with cross-country skiing, skiing outside tracks is doable without a special course, but if terrain is steep, it can very much be a challenge. You tired, have a pack, the surface go from icy to snow, and you fall as friction vary a lot. What we did was to use the Telemark turn, and for that the mountain skies are not really optimal they made for ski expeditions and not downhill. If more familiar with alpine skies, using ski touring gear would make the downhill far easier.

The norwegians have invented, or made their own?, what is called "Slow TV". This is TV without script, such as broadcasting for hours the live footage of a waterfall, or
the footage from a train drivers view, or from a camera mounted on the bow of a ship that travel along the coast, and in the norwegian fjords, (which, as you recall,
Slartibastfast got an award for). I think (with the caviat of me being a swede) that your videos shold have everything needed to be very popular in Norway.

About the eat in or takeout thing... It is actually not more profitable for the restaurant to serve you in their place. It is a tax thing. If you buy "to go" you buy goods which is taxed 15%. But if you eat it at the restaurant you are served food, which is a service and is taxed 25%. It is honestly really stupid if you ask me, but thats the system we got.

The not so secret secret is that there is only one rail line from Oslo Airport to City centre, so the cheaper Vy trains run the exact same speed as the more expensive Airport Train. The latter is that tiny bit more convenient is all, certainly not really worth the price difference.

Eating in you pay 25% VAT. Takeaway should be equal to buy your food in a groceryshop. The government want food to be cheaper, and therefor it is only 15% VAT on takeaway.

Funfact about the eating in/out. The surcharge is 25%, and is required by law as it is a tax, not something the cafe/restaurant get. And if you just sit outside, even if they have got chairs etc outside and use their outdoor tables, they are not required to charge the 25%. In other words, quite often just sit outside if they have got a outdoor area. But to be sure, there is no problem in asking if you are confused.

@@NatashaBergen I double checked, it is that eating «in» has the regular 25% VAT, however if you have it outside/to go, it is considered «normal food» and therefore subject to the normal VAT for food which is 15%, so there is a 10% surcharge pretty much. Just to be a bit more correct.

That's not one of Amundsen's quotes you should take seriously without context. Nobody ever died in Amundsen's expeditions where he was directly involved. Thus, when reading "Adventure is bad planning" isn't anywhere near the main takeaway from Amundsen's mentality. He was a responsible guy and the complete opposite of ex. Scott.
