In Twisted Metal 1, Roadkill is a grey junker slapped together with discarded scraps of other cars. It vaguely resembles a 1976 Pontiac LeMans, and is driven Captain Spears, a man who is desperate to undo a horrible mistake.
In Twisted Metal 2, Roadkill remains a junker but this time more closely depicts a 1970 Pontiac Firebird. It is both driven by and lived in by Marcus Kane, a downtrodden man trying to wake up and break free from the world.
In Twisted Metal III, Roadkill maintains its junkyard origins but likens itself more to at 1967 Camaro and is driven by the same insane man, Marcus Kane, but now he just wants to fuck off into the woods.
In Twisted Metal: Black, Roadkill is once again a junker, but painted green like an apocalyptic caramel apple. It sort of looks like a 70s Dodge Challenger and introduces a new driver, John Doe, an amnesiac who only wants to remember who is he is.
In Twisted Metal: Head On, Roadkill is, you guessed it, birthed from a junkyard, though, this time is similar to a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner and is piloted by our old friend Marcus Kane who still just wants to escape reality, but he is much more well off in appearance, sporting a nice overcoat and clean clothes.
In Twisted Metal 2012, Roadkill appears without a specific driver and is much less a product of salvaging pieces from a junkyard, looking like a 1969 Camaro more than anything.

0:33 I don't think Capt. Speare was a Vietnam vet. I'm fairly sure that he lost his men in the jungles of South America or some other Jungle landscape. He says it was 3 & a half years after the event.
I feel like homeless Marcus was the best fit for Roadkill. It fits the scrapyard getup of the vehicle.

Actually yes, depending on who you choose, it'll give you a specific line up on opponent's.
Example being, roadkill is part of the middle of the road/small vehicle pack. Warthog usually being the biggest of this group. So, Pit Viper, Mr Grimm, Outlaw and Crimson Fury.
Where as Thumper is part of the group with the Bigger vehicles for the most part. Darkside, Sweet tooth, Hammerhead, but would still have Spectre and Yellow Jacket in the mix.
This applies moreso for the Warehouse level.
It'll always be a mixed bag by the 3rd level onwards.
I ADORE the look of the original Twisted Metal Roadkill. Such an overlooked, but amazing looking car. I wish they'd bring it back.

Love Roadkill throughout the series. They are typically one of the most rewarding characters to learn in each game and the special weapon is always so satisfying. Also, that twister that killed herself in the fire on LA to prevent you from stocking weapons was on some real hater shit lmao. Another banger video as always Dess!

I have to correct you on a small mistake you made. Captain Spears was not in the Vietnam War, rather as Calypso quoted "Jungle wars of South America", as which war is it, i don't know and it was 4 and a half years ago (mind you the game takes place on Christmas of 2005, so the war can be entirely fictional).
Mr Grimm from Black was in the Vietnam War.

With 2012 Roadkill you can actually make custom skins that look like TM1/3 Roadkill & TM Black Roadkill. You can also make him look like Sweet Tooth lol
The Roadkill legacy!
The boomerang does indeed do more damage on the return, somewhere in the damage output of Mr grimm's. The head on version kind of felt way wonkier to use given how it always come out straight but I guess it's just a fire missile in terms of damage so you barely have to do the return part also the upgraded version is pretty pointless.
