I imagine Grass hopper's head on ending is that Calypso granted the wish but his daughter ended up in an accident anyway that ended up with her in a coma and him still ending up with powers by some alternate means with Calypso knowing the nature of his powers would twist her wish around anyway even though he'd try his hardest not to.

I always thought that outcome was hilarious. They’re still civil servants, which means they’d most likely just be shifted to another position in the sector. Hell, probably in the search and rescue field or first-response. Then again we’re trying to put logic into low-tier Twisted Metal sequel that came out 25 years ago..

Love to see TM:B Dollface that high, probably the best story from Black other than Sweet Tooth imo Plus I never really thought of the way the narrative and series continuity plays into some of the endings to make them that much better or way worse (TM3 Axel especially, I never realised just how much it rains all over the setup from the great ending in TM2).

The Outlaw 3 ending isn't dumb just for the reasons given here but like tracking crime isn't suppose to be the only part of a cop's job? Whenever there's an accident or something and 911 is called there's always police who arrive alongside with the ambulance or firetruck or whoever has to be there, at least in this area I don't know if it differs; and I'm pretty sure getting hurt or being around a freak accident where somethimg set on fire isn't (or at least I hope isn't) a crime lol. That and they could just like direct traffic or help someone who's lost or something. If anything that's a more favorable idea of what the police should be. Also yeah I'm pretty sure most would say drag queen's ending is in poor taste to say the very least... I also admitedly find the first part of Mr. Grimm's 2012 ending to be a little bit funny just from how ridiculous the imagery of him in the car looks.
Pretty good list and not much I would change. I do think TM3 Grimm should be lower because it’s too fast and kinda boring. Some SB and HO endings should be higher especially Grasshopper’s since it shows Calypso’s sensitive side. I’m glad you put the TM2 endings high as well.
I'll get through this whole video in the near future but I just jumped ahead to see where Brimstone from TM:B rank and from your description of that one and Dollface's immediately after, I've never mashed the Subscribe button so hard in my life. Will have to watch the whole thing but I absolutely love your commentary on those two. Really eloquent but not melodramatic narration style that gets a lot of the thematic and psychological value out of those stories without reading too much into them. Excellent stuff, can't wait to watch more
Just jumped around a bit more and I love to see some respect for Orbital's in TM4. I think "I don't want to be the only one with half a face" makes the twist too obvious and is a little on-the-nose, but past that, I totally agree that wishing to be normal and having that happen in an inversed way is a solid, tragic, clever twist and I love the comparison to the Twilight Zone. That's very apt

I actually love most of the TM endings. The one thing I dislike is that as the games progress, Calypso gets less and less scarred. The fact he was deformed and somewhat scary in the first games made it seem more visceral.
I actually really liked the Grasshopper ending in the PSP title. Calypso having to accept the fact that the best possible outcome for his daughter would have her be in a comatose state with the ideal version of what he cannot be. A good dad. I don’t count the Sweet-tooth ending, because variants of it have existed before and he’s an unreliable narrator. Grasshopper’s wish is the only time we really see Calypso “lose”. He’s escaped Hell multiple times, but can never save the only person he actually gave a shit about.
I'd like to think that him putting Krista in a coma was also his way of protecting her. He'd rather her be in a coma than having to live and participate in his world of violence and carnage. She was a ghost before, so she couldn't really die again, but now being alive Calypso probably wouldn't want her to be killed by the destruction of his own tournament.

1:12:06 i assumed 1 of 2 things. A) because of how closely Mortimer and Calypso resembled one another, that Mortimer was some how connected to Calypso in some way. Either a deceased relative, or seperate timeline of Calyspo, one where he didnt have or get his powers. Calypso would obviously know this, hence why he treats him with respect. Not only is it himself, but one where he got what he wanted. To die. Which of course was disturbed, so even Calypso feels disrespected(though thats maybe looking too into. It also falls apart if the dates on mortimers tombstone are correct, as that would place him being alive around the end of the wild west period. Dying just a few years before WWI) Or 2) the reason Calypso treats Mortimer with respect and grants his wish without twisting it, is because Calypso understands that want for nothing but to die(or in this case, return to rest)
I thought young axel would be the lowest small brawl entry. Apparently, he hates it so much that it's not even on the list. My favorite ending is spectors small brawl ending. It's cute and touching. I like happy endings.
I remember seeing TMB's version of Mr. Grimm as a kid, and thinking he ate his own face in the asylum with the eyes and tongue appearing on his food tray.
Two things about Axel in Black, 1.) His original cut story is I won't say better but it's way darker, originally it was his son that Sweet Tooth killed. And 2.) I just realize, they could've made Axel Thumper and nothing would've changed, hell it might make the game better because Axel is a little bitch to fight
I still argue that the Hammerhead ending of 1/High Octane, was the best in the series. Purely because Dave and Mike asked for babes and got exactly what they wanted. No ticks, no jokes, no cab full of babies and seemingly the glowing endorsement of Calypso himself. Judging by how he laughs and waves them goodbye. I'd still rank Krysta's ending in Head-On higher than her one in TM2/World Tour, as it shows more of how Calypso used to be and the fact the Krysta has to realise that Calypso, is no long the father she loved. Of course Sweet Tooth's ending in TM Black, is absolutely number 1. If only because Sweet Tooth felt like he was at his darkest, no emotion to his murders, it was all part of his calling in life and wanting to be the best, he wouldn't let a curse stop him.
twisted metal 3 was my first entry to the game series. I have at least played a little bit of all the others. except for small brawl. Black was my favorite
I'm pretty sure Warthog from TM3 is supposed to be Captain America. He's a soldier that's over 100 years old named Captain Rogers. Also Patriot Missiles.
I personally think the best ending is Mr Grimm in Twisted Metal Black & Axel in Twisted Metal 2 because both have conclusions Axel wanted to confront the man who put him behind the Wheels his own father he could break himself off the wheels but it was the will to confront the man who put him on them Mr Grimm gets his revenge on the man who made him into who he is however he knows he can’t change himself he is too far gone to go back so he gives the man who made him eat the person who’s skull he wears eats the man who made him eat his friend
Honestly, I'm shocked that there are 4 different endings where the character wishes for a new, souped up car (Cousin Eddy, Angel, Pizza Boy, and The Joneses), but all of them take it in different directions

I'd love to be selfish but some things are more important then selfish wants. I wish for your sins to catch up to you. For you to get all the punishments you deserve decided by your victims." The hate on tm3 with this guy is annoying, it's just not THAT bad of a game sure the endings aren't some prolific Hollywood productions doesn't mean the games bad it's called not taking itself too seriously and having fun with the IP fun isn't something this guy seems to fully grasp and that's based on my observation of how he talks just seems like an overly serious lad. Great content none the less

I loved how in Mortimer's TM2 ending, Calipso's ending speech is slightly audibly altered so it sounds like he was outside the plane.
