It is time to give back to the community people been supporting me for years in my store today I felt that I have to give back, and I decided to give away my art for free to any of my subscribers. Giving away your artwork is such a nice gesture from a very genuine person. What my husband and I enjoy about the channel is the fact that you show us everything from the homeless interviews to the Oscars and everything in between. I'd say he's a success. And he makes it all look pretty easy.
I bet people would be willing to pay a decent amount of money for that art if it was talked about on your channel once in awhile and sold online. I know it would be a hassle to ship though. Most UA-camrs sell cheesy merch but merch with pictures and art that you actually made would cool.
@@rayray11939 Good idea. Maybe sell only the canvas (roll it up and put it in a tube) and let the buyers mount it themselves or have a professional do it. That would solve the shipping problem.

Hi Mike, Sorry to see the shop closed. My brother appeared on the Price is RIght and came out from Chicago. We stayed on Venice Beach during our stay for the show based ENTIRELY on you and your channel and it was one of the best times of my life. You are the heart and soul of VB. Stopped in to see you but the shop was closed. Sorry to see the shop closed. GO online and sell there. You don't need the shop to be the KING OF VB.
Mike, I was really saddened after watching your closing-up-shop video. It surprised me how much it hit me in the feels as the youngsters say. I worked in Santa Monica from 1998 to 2001 and used to enjoy the Venice boardwalk before my back injury. As a child in the early 80s my sister and I would bicycle from the beginning of the strand in Hermosa Beach all the way up to the ending in Marina Del Rey. The beach has a special place in our hearts for sure. I've been a subscriber since 2019. You've grown so much and you are now free to really grow this passion of yours into something great and I wish you all the luck and love in the world. Much love from Long Beach.

As long as I can remember, I've always loved creative crafts but never pursued it in my younger days. No matter any circumstances... I believe that we all have a story, a vision, or a song to share with others. Even though my drive is somewhat diminished over the years, and whether it affords me a living or not, I will continue pursuing all my projects until I just can't, anymore! I've swept out the floors of two family businesses that closed, and man I know that feeling when you take that last look around the empty shop ... just no way to put it into words. And then the next day when you wake up and you realize you don't need to be anywhere ...

Jersey does get a bad rap but I have met some amazing people there! The Delaware Water Gap area and Cape May are just beautiful.
@@eddellinger1780 We live in Bergen County, north east corner of New Jersey. About 15 miles from NYC. Those areas you mentioned are more rural, and yes, definitely beautiful. 😀

You should sell your prints all over. The one you gave to the beautiful older lady in the sunglasses, she was perfect for it! You could make a print of her with your gift and it would sell. People would order your art!!

I watched hundreds and hundreds of his videos of the years. I be actually travelled from my
Home in Scotland to meet him 3 times and he’s never been at the shop! The shops next door tell me he’s hardly ever there. Too busy making a fortune off UA-cam videos. Good luck to him but this is not a bad hard luck story. It’s him moving out and going full time to make an even bigger fortune.

Aww shucks. We were planning a trip out there just to go to Venice Beach and find you. Lol. I have 4 older teen age sons and finding family trips are hard to do. We are taking a round-trip train from Chicago to L.A... So the train ride is really the trip; AMERICA 24 HOURS. You were going to be the surprise cherry on top. Sure it may not seem like a great trip but we have never did a real scenic train ride so it was something different and new:)
Had a ballet studio years ago. After 25 years it was time to move on. I gave things away just like you are doing. Felt a great a great joy sending costumes, scenery and all the rest out into the world. Love your channel. Love what you are doing.

I wish I was there when you were giving your art away. I lived and worked in Venice back in 1973 and 1974. I worked at Val’s Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech. I met many famous people back then. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a regular customer, he would come in and buy vitamins and hand chalk. Jane Fonda was another regular, Peter Tork of the Monkees was too. My boss was Harvey Newman and we dated for awhile, then I moved back to my home in Ohio and now I’m retired in Florida. I’d love to have one of your post cards if you have any left!!
Martha, I'm too lived there (Santa Monica 1012 2nd St.) in 1973 and 74. Lots of memories, in including meeting Arnold at a local tennis tournament where he was watching a GF play. Mike the GIV brings back nice memories as I read each post.
If you ever came into Val’s Pharmacy then we probably saw each other! Nice to see someone else from that time. I lived on San Juan Ave in Venice , then later on moved to Santa Monica on Cedar St. Nice to reminisce about those times.
