The Koine Greek word for obey, as in it's strictest most straight forward sense (Eph 6:1, Gen 22:18, 26:5, Mt 8:27, Mk 1:27 etc..) is ὑπακούω upakouo which is NOT the same root nor the same word as believe πιστεύω pisteuo. This attempt to make this argument linguistically is a failure... he's just wrong on the language front.
May I point out that the Crusaders were not following scripture by going into Idaho country and killing the tribes people? The Crusaders will receive judgment to the extent of the evil they inflicted upon other humans. They will also receive just retribution on account of their wickedness. They had bibles in one hand and rifles in the other. Their bibles do not excuse them nor pardon them for their error. In fact their bibles are a witness against their actions.
