Most that I have seen and also tried myself is the lid either lifting up or only a small corner being exposed before it closes just love this full range of motion that you have put into the lid. Very much appreciate the full explanation along with the video. Your design for the look of the lid is exceptional.👻🎃⚰️💀
Moving on the roller bearings gave it a great sound, too. This year, with a different crypt and heavier lid, I had to use a linear actuator to move the top. Neither the movement nor sound were as satisfying as with this version.
LOVE THIS! The only constructive suggestion I would make is to please make the font size of your description larger so that those of us with older decrepit eyes can read it more easily. Cheers!
I know what you mean about the fonts. Unfortunately iMovie only has two font sizes for that style of title bar: too big or too small. Maybe time to learn another video editor.
I doubt it would have worked without the roller bearings along the top. I've built a larger crypt this year with its lid on an incline. A wiper motor struggles to move it, so I'm probably going to replace it with a linear actuator, which is stronger but has a less interesting movement.
This is SO cool!!! I wanted to see it lit up with the fog!!!

Thanks, but I confess the idea for the two guiding PVC pipes came from someone else's video.
Incredible and inspiring work as usual!
Fantastic! I really appreciate the explanations into the choices you made and the pros and cons of each (eg. wood putty vs spackle for the lid)
It remains to be seen how the spackle holds up outdoors. I'm hoping the Drylock paint blocks the moisture from it. It not, patch and repeat.
Nice job. The motion of the lid is cool.

This looks wonderful!
Adding to my list now of Halloween Things To Make. 😅😂

@@ghostofautumnwood6379 I can adapt 🙂
I’m surprised that a wiper motor is strong enough to move a thing as heavy as the lid!
