Froggy's Fog Bubble Juice Tryout
Unhappy with the bubble juice I'd been using, I gave Foggy's Fog Pro bubble juice a tryout and was pleased with the output when used with a Chauvet Bubble King and a ADJ BubbleTron.

Party Tombstone 2 0
Переглядів 168Місяць тому
Sometimes you try to entertain others...sometimes yourself. I haven't given up on the party tombstone mostly because it's nonsensical and makes me smile. But I've made a few changes from last year to make it more engaging for everyone.
This Skeleton Is Bad to the Bone
Переглядів 175Місяць тому
It was love at first sight when I saw a skeleton playing a guitar and singing on another UA-cam channel. The maker of that skeleton wasn't interested in selling his creation, but he did provide guidance for me to make one of my own. I'll tell you before you ask where I bought the board that allowed an external audio source to move the skeleton's mouth: audioservocontroller.com. And this is the ...
Demon Footprints

I was really happy with a Halloween display effect last year featuring ghostly footprints walking across the yard from a crypt. However, not many people noticed it. This year I'm creating a jump scare based on the same but supersized effect.
Halloween: Carving Stone Walls from Styrofoam
Переглядів 4893 місяці тому
I need to hide a large Halloween prop in an open yard and decided to place it behind stone walls carved from blocks of styrofoam. The blocks were free from Tractor Supply, having been used as cushioning for trailers during delivery to the store. Some stores will gladly give away the blocks; others keep them for return to the company. I used three inexpensive hot wire kits from Amazon to do most...

Tree-Size Halloween Lightning Bolt
Переглядів 7354 місяці тому
Trial run of a 30-foot lightning bolt made by joining three 10-ft. sections of three-inch PVC pipe. Looks pretty good. "Full Scale" in this case means it's the final size I'm going to use on Halloween. The PVC will be painted black before Halloween.
Werewolf Moon(s)

My first Halloween photo op will feature a werewolf with cornstalks and a large full moon in the background. I tried a couple ways to make the moon, first planning one with internal lighting but finally deciding to project a moon image onto a large, sturdy circular screen.
Mausoleum for the Performing Arts

Nothing special here...just one of manyHalloween mausoleums found on UA-cam.. This one was made with 1x3 boards and sheets of rigid foam insulation. During the recent trick-or-treat, the mausoleum housed an amusing punk rocker skeleton bought from Costco. Not sure what its future use will be.
Lightning Bolt Prop--Proof of Concept
Переглядів 8339 місяців тому
I want to add some storm effects to my Halloween display, including a lightning bolt. I'm trying out one way to make the prop combining two examples found on UA-cam. Those two examples: ua-cam.com/video/gFftzla2APg/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/4XrgGPtlUzk/v-deo.html
Pepper's Ghost in a Hearse
Переглядів 3 тис.11 місяців тому
The Pepper's ghost illusion is one of world's earliest illusions, based on the reflection of an image from a transparent surface such as glass, plexiglass or even heat-shrinkable window film. My goal was to use the technique to create the image of a ghost inside a prop Halloween hearse. I had intended to use inexpensive window film as the reflective surface but chickened out and replaced it wit...
Halloween Crypt with Ghost Footprints

A ground-level crypt with moving lid was combined with ghostly footprints to create a spooky scene for this year's Halloween display. Previous how-to videos show the making of the props.
Ancient Portal with Flame Lights
Переглядів 53511 місяців тому
My yard is divided by a driveway. On one side, I created a cemetery scene with a bunch of skeletons and moving props. On the other side, I wanted something different and decided to make an ancient portal based on a similar prop made by the hosts of the Wicked Makers UA-cam channel. At first I was going to include videos copied from movies to project between the portal's columns, but most of the...
Bottomless Graveyard Monument
Переглядів 895Рік тому
A variation of the bottomless well prop, popular for Halloween displays. Instead of in a well, the illusion has been placed inside a graveyard monument to better fit into a cemetery theme. Infinity illusions despite being "old school" make especially fascinating props.
Party Tombstone

Unintentionally, it seems several of my props this year are a bit silly. This was a project to make use of a new Fobbles machine, which can make fog, bubbles or fobbles, which are fog-filled bubbles. There isn't much need for a bubble maker in a cemetery, so I had to create a tombstone justifying use of the machine.

How did you make your exterior gold frame?
I bought picture frame moulding from HD and spray painted it gold. www.homedepot.com/p/Ekena-Millwork-20-in-W-x-24-in-H-x-1-2-in-P-Ashford-Molded-Scalloped-Wainscot-Wall-Panel-PNL20X24AS-02/205957859
This is awesome. Nice ingenuity to get it all done, too. Do you keep your speaker by the bolt or somewhere else?
I haven't decided yet. Will probably experiment with placing speakers near viewers and by the bolts.Time running out.
@@ghostofautumnwood6379 yes it is. Doing a spider and still haven’t textured it. Time is awasting!
What 😆😝
Wow. Amazing. Love it. I was wondering if you would share or possibly sell the sequence you made. I’ve bought everything for this but I’m afraid I might run out of time.
Hola qtl
Dam good job loved it.
I have an idea for your "sitting up in a coffin" stunt. What if you have a realistic-looking corpse mannequin lying in a coffin, and then have the reflection of the corpse superimposed over it. Then when you have the ghost sit up, it will look like it's literally leaving the corpses' body.
That's a great idea...unfortunately it wouldn't work in my setup because the space is too narrow. The casket would have to sit over the space that houses the television. However, if you had a casket in a room setting--like a funeral parlor--you could place the television and reflector behind it.
@@ghostofautumnwood6379 What if you had the television embedded in the ceiling out of sight, so its light is projected downward towards the plastic, instead of upward? You might have to invert the image so it is correctly oriented towards the mannequin. I know that's a lot of work with a heavy television, but I wonder if it would work
@@maskedmarvyl4774 Maybe. A possible problem is that while some of the image is bounced off the reflector, some of it also passes through the reflector and onto what's behind it...in this case, the coffin. One might be better off covering one the hearse openings with Hollusion material and projecting the ghost onto that. However, that means the hearse should be viewed from just one side.
This is gold. Thank you.
awesume job!
ITS YOUR TIME
Just found your channel. Do you have any plans of adding voice over to your videos?
I don't.
What force were the servos? 25kg?
I used a HobbyBots 935MG for the arm and a HS-425BB for the head. You'll have to look up their specs. Truthfully, I know little about servos and made my purchases based on advice.
Great work, what software are you using?
@@reckoning1876 Light-o-rama software with a LOR Servodog controller.

Omg I absolutely love this! You are so talented this is awesome thank you for sharing❤
This is fantastic! I'd like to try and recreate. Can you share which Light-o-Rama hardware is required? Thank you!
This page from LOR has most of the parts. Unfortunately you have to assemble the AC-to-DC controller yourself. You'll need an enclosure, power supply, mounting plate and CMB board. On top of that, you'll need LOR show software. All told, you'll be out a couple hundred dollars. Probably not worth it for a few footprints. store.lightorama.com/collections/controller-kits-assembly-required
Really cool
Late to the party, but outstanding idea...
Amazing!!!!
This is SO cool!!! I wanted to see it lit up with the fog!!!
Looks fantastic. What size tv for a life size ghost? I have thrifted a 43” so far. Thank you for sharing 👻
The one I used in my hearse was 50 inches.
I was gonna try the punching bags from 5 & Below & just cover them with the sheets?😊
I don't know if you have the time or desire to experiment any further, but it's easily to mix your own or tweak a product. When my kids were little, we were less than satisfied with the watered-down "bubble juice" that came with the wands in the toy dept., so we made our own. I never quantified things, so I can't give you a recipe; I just mixed until I got good results. I think we used Dawn for the base, but glycerine is the key ingredient since it makes the bubbles much stronger and longer-lasting. You can pick up a bottle from any craft store for around $12 for 16 oz. Add a little to the inferior bubble juice, and you'll see an improvement. It really didn't take very much to go from bubbles that popped immediately to very robust ones that could handle a strong breeze.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, I'd be willing to experiment with glycerine added to the bubble juice I have on hand.
The spirit of bubbles McGee will be in awe of what you have created
Noice!
Thanks for the inspiration. I've been driving myself nuts trying to come up with a spark effect using LED's at the base of the bolt. Glad to know I can copy your tree-base spotlights if I can't solve the spark challenge. I look forward to seeing any of your modifications.
That looks amazing. You put some real hard work into that
U could sell those, id buy them
Do the hustle, Dancing Queen come to mind!
My sister also said Dancing Queen.

Wow! This is a super fun concept. How about Rick James Super Freak or Eddie Murphy My girl likes to party all the time for songs.
Both great suggestions. Thanks.
Love it
Big fan of your props. Your videos have inspired my family to see if we can come up with some of our own original creations.
Wow. Thanks. Learning how to use a controller to make things happen when I want them to happen has allowed creations that wouldn't be possible otherwise. But most of my displays begin with "Wouldn't it be cool if........"
Amazing work! 👏
I would imagine running lag bolts with large fender washers through the pipe connections would hold your pipes together. It would also make it easier to disassemble for storage.
I ended up gluing a wooden donut-shaped plug inside the lip of each pipe, giving me something solid to run screws into. However, your suggestion is a great one, and I'll keep it in mind as a backup.
Always so impressive. 🎃👍
Interesting solution. Last summer I had a 7" Android tablet backscreen die on me. "Can I turn the LCD into a Project?" I thought. The final outcome was a large home built projector that mostly worked. It needed a better Light Source but it did the trick. I think ended up dropping $60 on a cheap 1080p Projector from Amazon, and making a screen from some net curtain. The biggest issue I came across was the throw distance of the Project Vs the window I had the screen on. Now this provides a slightly different idea of how to accomplish a better effect without having the Projector pointed directly at the window. Thank you. Also gives me ideas for some of my spare 7" tablets.....
If the space to fill is wider than the sheet of plastic, is it possible to overlap a bit to create a wider piece?
The company makes a version large enough to cover a patio door.
@@ghostofautumnwood6379 Well then, I gotta find myself some! Thanks!
Amazing!! ❤
See the basic optical illusion now. Thx
Can you put the dimensions of everything should someone want to make it? Thanks!
This has given me an idea for my patio! I live in a second floor condo. Thought about using the ole projector but I think this would work much better!
Can you use a projector instead of a TV?
No. Think of the reflector as a mirror. If you point a projector at it, you will see the projector...or more likely just the light glow coming out of the lens. If you want to use a projector, you could make a screen out of a gauzy material, like the Hollusion material sold by Atmosfx. Although material like that isn't entirely invisible, you can see what's behind the screen. I used a Hollusion screen for this ancient portal project: ua-cam.com/video/O7Q15c_P6e4/v-deo.html
Awesome prop and tutorial! Thanks for the detailed explanation.
I’m surprised that a wiper motor is strong enough to move a thing as heavy as the lid!
I doubt it would have worked without the roller bearings along the top. I've built a larger crypt this year with its lid on an incline. A wiper motor struggles to move it, so I'm probably going to replace it with a linear actuator, which is stronger but has a less interesting movement.
Really great suggestion to use shrink wrap!
The first one with the scream is absolute terror
This is truly amazing work. You're so talented in many different ways. I love everything about it, and how you put it together--it's so impressive! Awesome job!
If you're open to suggestions, mix some brown, green, and gray acrylic paints with water into spray bottles. Mist water/paint mixture across stones and allow it run. It will create an organic streaking and help tie the colors into your landscape.
I've always done a black and green wash on my previous "stone" props (mausoleum, tombstones, crypt, portal), but I'm not sure I'll go that route on the wall. I might just stuff some dried moss in the cracks...not sure. In any case, I appreciate your taking the time to make the suggestion. Best wishes.
Yep, my local Tractor Supply will not let people have them. They say they must be returned for recycling . I tried to buy them and say I would upcycle, but no luck 😢.
Of six stores I contacted, two said no, two said yes, and two were willing but didn't have any blocks available.
Another one of your incredible projects that has turned out fantastic
