    If you had attached the extension arms to the outside of the uprights, and connected with a through bolt (maybe either bushing, or solid round stock) for the articulation, it looks like it will retract up and sit more flush against the wall. In any case, that's a killer build, and I think I will make one, too.

    That's just plainly beautiful. I want to say ima try to copy it but the retractable aspect makes me nervous, since I have no expierance with using that. But I'm definitely going to imitate this

    This looks awesome man! I actually have plans to build a very similar design this weekend in my garage. Has this held up pretty well for you? Want to make sure I’m not over stressing the studs in my house before I get too far into this

      Amazon struts/shocks rated for 65 lbs each and come 4 in a pack, Ill post an update soon, I've used the hell out!

      Here in the UK you’d call it a ‘Gas Piston Stay’ or ‘Gas Strut’ if that helps

      At the time, $90 for the DIY power rack, another $40 for the sliding punching bag.
