If you had attached the extension arms to the outside of the uprights, and connected with a through bolt (maybe either bushing, or solid round stock) for the articulation, it looks like it will retract up and sit more flush against the wall. In any case, that's a killer build, and I think I will make one, too.
That's just plainly beautiful. I want to say ima try to copy it but the retractable aspect makes me nervous, since I have no expierance with using that. But I'm definitely going to imitate this
This looks awesome man! I actually have plans to build a very similar design this weekend in my garage. Has this held up pretty well for you? Want to make sure I’m not over stressing the studs in my house before I get too far into this

@@kingjaffyjoe7679 Nice bro! Where did you get the shocks, Do you have a link for them? And what’s the length measurement (of the wood) from hinge to hinge?

Thanks bro! It's a put together budget option that I think anybody can profit from!
Love that last “thud!” When you brought the rack down at the end. 😂
“F*** that” 😂😂😂 I’m with you
This is badass. Woulda never thought about installing those shocks. Great idea. Happy lifting.
That’s a damn good job homie. I like the heavy bag that slides too. Awesome job
nice!!!! wish i saw this a couple weeks ago. just bought me an expensive squat rack. Thank you for posting this incredible bad boy.
This looks like the best DIY set up i've seen. Congrats on the quality engineering man. Will copy lol. It's also squat friendly too. 💯
YESSS SIIIR! That's clean too!
This is genius, thanks for showing
Right on.
Awesomeness 👊💪
F paying 800 bucks. That's well done mate
Thanks!
Literally thought about the same idea yesterday
That’s sooooo sick...sorry bro I gotta copy that.
Power to you!
Good shit bro 🔥🔥
Sick
This is sick! Wonder what the integrity of the rack is and how much weight/abuse it can hold though
hey did you test how much weight can those hinges hold? can you give us parts list? its really sick build
Kudos Bro
Awesome build, how tall is it folded?

This is nice, where did you get the shocks and how did you attach the pull up bar?
How are you going to set up the clips to hold the bar?
Good job. Will last a long wile I’d guess.
It's taken a beating and holding up great so far, Thanks!
what shocks did you go with really interested in duplicating this?
This is hot
Curious what you used for the bar catch….
Same
Where did you get the shocks from? What did the complete product look like?
Amazon struts/shocks rated for 65 lbs each and come 4 in a pack, Ill post an update soon, I've used the hell out!
What did you use for the punching bag track?

What’s the technical term for the shocks?
Here in the UK you’d call it a ‘Gas Piston Stay’ or ‘Gas Strut’ if that helps
Did you use 4x4 or 6x6, I can't tell lol
4×4
@@kingjaffyjoe7679 Thanks for the reply! What about your heavy bag sliding system, what does that consist of?

How much did your beautiful art cost you?
At the time, $90 for the DIY power rack, another $40 for the sliding punching bag.
@@kingjaffyjoe7679 Nice bro! Where did you get the shocks, Do you have a link for them? And what’s the length measurement (of the wood) from hinge to hinge?
The cost of lumber and parts probably cost you $500.00+
When I originally built it, it cost me about $150 in lumber and hadware
What the heck
