- Julianne wrote "Silly Girls" with her friend while living in a house of 20 girls in Oxford, UK. You all loved this song from her new album, Beatrice, so we learned it as a band! Julz did such a great job and it was fun to try and figure out how to translate it to fit "The Petersens".

The song was great (and peaceful). But I must say I really loved the background to this video. The cutout in the forest just made for a comforting environment for the band. The girls' dresses are beautiful. And of course, the singing is too. 🙂

When I first heard "Beatrice" I immediately thought that this song was the most suitable to be played with the whole band. But I hope there will be more.
This "friendship waltz" is really something unique and very sweet to listen to in all the musical production of the last period. All three versions I've heard so far do full justice to the beauty of the words. Including this bluegrass version that accompanies Julianne and Katie's vocals perfectly.

Oh this is precious! I admire how you and your friend, Katie, captured the essences of real girl friendships in such sweet words and wrote the perfect tune to accent them!
I feel like the stringed version of this song is more youthful. As I listen, I picture two innocent little girls waltzing together carelessly through a meadow then rolling down the hill in giggles to fall in a pile at the bottom, where they take a look at one another and, for the first time, recognize the blessing they are looking at.
The piano version has a little bit more of a reflective undertone to it… it feels more like two young women, who have grown up together, are taking a moment to dwell on how much their lives have changed and how they have stood strong in their friendship to this point, and are ready and thankful to be able to do the same in the coming stage of life.
Both versions of “Silly Girls” are good for different times of life, and I am so happy the band covered it for that reason! It is a wonderful song, Julianne, and thank you for sharing it with the world! Good bless! ❤😊
