"T" is the command used to insert a text and "Shift + O" is used to make an outline. Felt kinda lost as they weren't mentioned in the video.
He didnt mention it so you'd go and watch his other vid. Bless u for the knowledge, good sir
Useless video because he didnt mention about how to write. Amazing comment to ''Add PIXEL perfect TEXT in ASEPRITE'' actually. Thank you!
thank you. I got annoyed when he said "I'm not gonna tell you how to add an outline." Wtf? Like just tell us the damn shortcut, jesus christ we can't be bothered to seek out your other video. Thanks dude.
he made it so people would watch the other videos, thanks
gracias!
I know not everyone will like the Stream highlight format.
but I sadly haven't been able to do much due to health issues lately.
So trying to get at least something out over nothing.
Don't apologise! IT IS WAY MORE BETTER like this!
that's really sweet! I think this format is great for those of us who can't make it to the stream
Keep it up ! Hope you get better
I love seeing the little characters
pay close attention to copyright stuff before you use fonts in other works, and see if you can find the source to verify that the listing is accurate. you can never be too careful, especially if you're on the job and contributing to a game company's next game.
good tip!
Just in case it helps anyone: in the US, typeface designs are generally not copyright protected. Font *files* can be, but unique designs of letters are not. Other countries have different laws though, so the advice above is still good.
You can search for donationware (which you def should donate to still) and/or public domain stuff from what I can tell.
Me: "Let's try making some art"
My art: "Hello! I am a giant poop"
I like this format. It's straight to the point. It might be a little long and boring if you were creating something complex without any editing, like designing a character and its animation from scratch. But for quick tips like this one I think this format is great.
You are the best pixel art tutorial channel on UA-cam! All these other pixel art tutorials are either guys drawing amazing things but not explaining anything, or people explaining how to do pixel art, but can't draw anything well at all. But you are different because you can actually draw And explain everything clearly! Thank you so much, I got into pixel art because of your tutorials!
Great. That's a killer feature.
I was drawing pixel by pixel before the video.
mort! been here from the start and you’re such an inspiration
I really like that you do a review of each segment before moving ahead. it's appreciated. love the videos! cant wait to start on my own projects! :)
Great video Mort.
The last two videos have been awesome and super helpful.
Congrats on 100k Mort - You deserve it and more

I really enjoy to make my own fonts instead of searching for another, so I'm very thankful with this video, I really loved it, was very useful.
Thank you Mort, I'm sure I speak for us all when I say we are always grateful.
hope you are well now
How convenient, i just folowed your basic tutorials some days ago, and just wondered yesterday how i could add any text in Asesprite... and here it comes! Yaaayyyy! I didn't catch how to actually add text but as i saw you doing it, i searched in the menus and i found it > menu Edit > Insert Text ; or shortcut "T". Thanks a lot! And wish your health to improve :)
Was stuck for a while trying to figure out how to insert text, just found your video and it really helped me out, Gotta make sure the font is the right size! :D
Also, I love your little dounut and bread sprites down the bottom there! haha
Creative writing prompt: give context to his typo “hell, I’m a giant poop”
Hey Mort, so say I was making a game in Unity and I did the styling like you did on aseprite, would I need to build that whole styled font as a new font so I can use it for programmatic text in unity? For example if I wanted my damage numbers in a game to be the stylized version I made in aseprite, there's no way to do that unless I export the font as a whole new font right? Any help is appreciated!
Great video as always
New to Asepite, thank you for the tips. Liked, and Subbed. :)
The review sections are a really good idea.
Good video Mort, also you can put the ttf inside aseprite fonts folder if you don't want to install it on the system.
Thanks, this was just right.
Very thanks , mort .
oooooo! I use dafont a lot! I found the Mega Man ZX font there so I'm sure you'll find obscure game fonts there as well!
How do you do the walking sprites and live comments thing? It is amazing! 😱
Nice video, btw. :)
It's from a s software called 'Stream Avatars' It's real fun :)
Yeah but how do I insert text?
Lol i was just drawing the thing letter by letter 😅
Thanks for the tip! ñ_ñ
Thanks for the great help
OOoh awesome! :D
how do you take a custom font made in aseprite and turn it into a font file so you can type with it. thanks
now i may be a tad bit late but a youtuber named "pixel overload" made a video on this actually its really nice and also pixel art specific
How does this bucket instantly filling all the white parts of the selection and ignoring spaces/outlines work?
now i know im a slight bit late but in the top left you can click a little checkmark called "continous" and that should probably make it so any of that color on that layer gets filled in, you also need the select the paint bucket or else you cant see the check mark.
0:33 well can you make a video how to implement those avatar in the stream.
Well I min it locks cool and I wanna know how exactly did you made it
It's a price of software called stream avatars
I love it! \^u^/ watching your videos always motivates me to do pixel art! I wish there's more channels like you ~/3\~
Thank you
How can i get aseprite free?
Did you changed your youtube channel name?
No
Я так и не понял как писать текст
i was there !
Nice
please keep the filter on on every stream
