Dear SkipTheTutorial, when you expand your base ceiling to 3 blocks tall, you remove that enderman proof to your base.
Dear Marco Rocchi, usually your base will be mobproof if it's 3 blocks tall
Slabs
Dear Marco Rocchi, every person who builds a base lights it up with torches or anything else which can mob proof your base easily.
@@Wraffiii enderman can Teleport inside

Okay. Big terraforming projects cannot always be solid. My tip is to do a layer underneath the dirt with stone. Helps if a creeper blows up and no one will accidentally fall through.
9:13
actually, sprint jumping is more effective in 2 block high spaces because you hit the ground faster and can jump sooner.
It drains your food like crazy, but it's essential for nether tunnels that don't utilize ice roads, imo
5:47 He makes a reference to a book called “The Tell Tale Heart” in this book, a man has a blue eye that annoys the narrator so much that the narrator kills the man and stuffs him in the floorboards. He makes this reference while talking about bees being tenants in your floors.
very cool
@[卐]Lakehuntist ⸜⁄ wow, im so impressed by how awesome you are
Ok Ms Brown
I loved this reference!!!
Yes
9:10
I agree with the fact that 2 block tall ceilings arent good
but not because they dont allow you to move around, because technically head hitters are faster than sprint jumps
but more because they just dont look nice and feel like a cramped space
I never use 2 block tall ceilings anyway
@@codergirlgames only a psychopath does
yeah I definitely agree, the speed of getting around is not really the issue, it's how cramped the build becomes.
to be fair though, a 2 block ceiling can actually work if you are intentionally trying to make it feel like a cramped space
I think 2.5 is the best ceiling height
@@pyrolucky5741 what about 2 and a half block tall ceiling?
6:20 POV: you are The Statue of Liberty
Y'know, for the hollow hills one, you could just double down and make a basement or an underground area to fill it out. Make the hollow hill actually have a purpose.
I agree with all of these except for filling hills. It's a pain I don't want to go through
Agreed, I'd recommend putting a layer of water down at the bottom so if a creeper blows stuff up you aren't gonna fall to your death
@@ollie_3948 that’s a good idea, but if someone’s finicky about sounds, that might be a problem. Personally I’d do that, or use some relatively blast resistant material, like deepslate, and second coat it on an inner layer-
But that’s if I’m doing a large terraforming project- *usually* I do small terraforming projects where I actually do a lot more molding, so it ends up solid anyways
Yeah, especially with large scale terraforming projects. No, I don't want to collect 20x the dirt (not an exaggeration), when I'm already needing to collect at least 4 shulker boxes.
Light the inside and double wall the top layer.
Agreeed
until a recent build, i used copper with blocks that fit with orange and fully oxidized copper because I never waxed copper before that point. if you let it oxidize, it helps to visualize your build and build pallet next to the oxidized copper, so you know if you want to change the pallet or wax your copper first.

Pro tip with all of the pressure plate points in the video: if you have access to worldedit or op/Debug Stick you can set the pressure plate to "powered" mode and that will prevent it from activating if someone steps on it. Also works on buttons.
The debug stick can also make sign/fence combos look more connected as you can force the fence to connect to a specific side.
SMART
You can make some more detailed things like ceilings
It would be a waste of materials just to fill in an entire hollow hill. What you should do when terraforming is double stack the blocks when building up the layers, like how Fwhip does it when he builds a hill, rather then filling in the entire terraformed hill. It saves on resources(and gathering) while making it so breaking one block doesn't just make you fall right into the hill.
I agree. Still need to light it up though so you can sleep without mobs nearby.
@@Copperkaiju True True
dirt or stone isnt rare
@@shroove4312 it still takes a lot of time to collect them if you’re gonna fill the whole thing instead of only the exterior
Nah knowing it’s empty is too much of an issue
I always make my builds 4 blocks tall because I don’t like hitting my head when I jump. I also gives you more decor space and looks nicer and general!

Guys, don't reply to bots. They feed on attention. Literally. The engagement encourages their algorithm.
i like glass pane corners, but they do fit best in modern/futuristic style builds with blocks like colored concrete
One of the lessons are "always light up ur builds from the top to the bottom" and use a variety of blocks
9:40 I strongly disagree. Obviously for that specific house it’s hideous but if you have a modern design it can actually make it look nice and sleek. In my opinion at least. Great job on another video man.

I actually thought it looked pretty interesting.
2:58 Now that you mentioned it, I really hope we get different kinds of trees that will be added in a future Minecraft update. The tree you made looks so much better than the default ones!
did you just copy @TCA?
Probably not but we got a new wood type so more tree colors I guess
Seeing this after bamboo and cherry blossom trees have been added to 1.20...we made it brother
oh no, not more weird trees 😭
True, the original wood type trees just look like oversized bushes
For the table I prefer trapdoors because it really helps making it look like your legs can actually fit under it
8:22
no, they don't generate the same amount of lag,
1. because they are not looking for where to go
2. do not cause collisions
3. they don't check for collisions with other mobs
Your point? It still generates lag if you have too many.
@@poppythedogofwonders yes, but very very little lag. not comparable to the amount that mobs cause, so there's no reason not to use them
4:32 This is way too relatable, like I've had to replace whole fricking fortress with huge walls and four towers for this mistake. It's almost more pain than fighting in Spain
Is this a HOI 4 reference?
@@VasiliyOgniov Yes
If you have cheats you can purify a whole 32 wide cube around yourself with /fill ~-15 ~-15 ~-15 ~16 ~16 ~16 stone replace infested_stone
If it's a different block just replace stone and infested_stone with cobblestone and infested_cobblestone, you get the idea.
Corners windows can be actually a thing, but it depends on the type of build you are, well.. building! I know that in most of them, it looks off. But some modern or futuristic architectures can some times have it without looking weird.
It always depends on which is the structure you're relying on your build.
And also if you layer it right. If you make the building two blocks thick, and layer the windows on the interior wall, then you can have an exterior foundation wrapping around it- but if you flush it onto one layer, then things might start looking weird- at least that’s from my experience, I can’t guarantee it’s good experience XD$
@@ItsImagineThis Yea, it needs some knowledge well apllied on it to work
1:11 just wait until the 1.20 new signs
In 1.19 item frames are no longer considerated as entities so you can place as many as you want
also on bedrock its treaed as a block so u can not put both a sign and a item frame
10:17 this is officially now my favourite hermitcraft/minecraft joke
3:31
Me with water/lava particles off: Im 4 parallel universes ahead of you
Corner windows can look great depending on the build and blocks used, you were using a building that always has corner accents, so of course the glass is gonna look weird, plus its on a base of cobblestone and logs, but if you had a house made of wooden planks, the glass corner could look really nice
9:15 you do realize that if you repeatedly hit the space bar under two block tall areas you can move faster than 3 blocks? If you’re sprinting-jumping but just hitting space repeatedly, it’s the fastest ways to travel on foot in Minecraft.
Yes

Steve Jobs Theater:
0:18
If we want to light up the pathways we can put glow stone blocks there then a grass block on top so when you look at it from far you see the path lit up but you dont know where the light source is coming from
Carpets work and moss carpets are even better
1:30 alternatively: use the debug stick to change the state of blocks like fences, so that they have their directional piece toward the sign/item frame/other attached to them, and look like its supporting them more correctly.
The debug stick is an awesome item for map build looks.
I like using frog lights in that block in a long straight line looks like a cool path light.
Some more related tips:
don't jump off the roof,
don't hug the porcupine,
don`t cut your nails with a saw,
don't drink from the toilet,
etc.

7:32 "Why not make it realistic by filling in under tour terraforming project?"
Because I just spent the last month leveling my 600x600 block walled in kingdom to y level 69 (giggidy) and filling it in would take another freaking year of my life. The closest I might get is carving out y 67 and 68 soni can hang water source blocks from the bottom of 69 to fill in the airgap. I think my villagers will pardon me for the occasional land squid.
Fun fact: the dirt path block can be used for carpet as well Just do the same thing skip the tutorial did in the beginning or do a detail underneath the wall
2:35
Double slabs increase blast resistance of a block and you wouldn't want your house to be mined easily or exploded easily
SO ALWAYS USE DOUBLE SLABS WHEN BUILDING INSTEAD OF A FULL BLOCK
Thanks!
But When its a temporarly Base it is just anoying When you want to remove it
Ikr I always use double slab blocks when building something meant to resist
Yes, I agree with this statement, just as long as this base isn’t a temporary one.
Keep up this amazing schedule! We couldn’t build anything without you
Yaa
Skippy is amazing :)
ever since I had a large attic in my roof in minecraft, that I NEVER used or even went up in, I regret it all. all the mob spawning made me go INSANEEE
I loved that joke about the tell tale heart, and I finally understand it’s since I just read it in school 😅
12:00 Sadly even if its half-size, grain would still make his mistake
9:20 head hitting actually makes it faster
Yes
4:03 I always just make attics whenever I can. It's even cheaper than dirt, it's authentic, and if the house is big enough, you now have some bonus space for storage.
8:31 "Item frames are entities, so you might wanna cut down on using them."
*replaces item frames with banners, which is also an entity*
I like the two block jumping because it’s all about how quickly you spam jump
About the 3 blocks tall house:
Sure it looks nice but one fact you got wrong is the sprint jumping bit. You technically go faster if you spam sprint jump under a 2 high roof.
Yeah but you use up a ton more hunger to go faster
7:07 or torch them up. That works if your careful of what exploded nearby

for the presure plate you can use gray carpet for it but water will ruin it
It's still a good idea
0:45 use a piston and put redstone block under it
it's also fine with lever instead of redstone block
Thanks for the info
What if when you have that one pixel gap you make slabs instead of full blocks
My worst enemy is a one Pixel block Gap in Minecraft
4:00 isn't clipping vines a feature in minecraft already?
I'd rather keep the rafters dark but put slabs or carpet on top to prevent mobs
The giant gap made when you shovel a grass block can be used as a secret door opener if you put a sticky piston and a lever on it then put moss carpet on top of the shoveled grass block.
5:37 beehives and smooth stone can be used in office buildings as well but if you want to build the backrooms in Minecraft use the beehives for your roof
I know
And also if you want to make a office building with multiple floors use the smooth stone block for your roof

Yo, love your videos
*me on my way to commit every single one of these building sins on my survival world:*
this is a ceave gaming reference and I love it.
A minor pet peeve of mine, especially in village builds, is using job blocks as accents and decoration, like barrels and lecterns. They look great, but if you decide to populate it, you'll end up with a village populated entirely by fishermen even tho it's far away from any lake or sea
Im very excited for the 1.20 update, what was the mob that you voted for in the mob vote? I, personally voted for the sniffer, and he won :)
It’s funny, I used dirt as insulation for my second branch of slime manor. It looks so cool, I lit up all the outside and gated my land so it’s absolutely safe from any mobs. Had to do it because of moving villagers to my mansion so it’s not so empty.
I love the telltale heart reference because it’s a great story that I read in my highschool English class and my middle school English class
1:27 using a debugstick you can make the fence act like it’s connected to a solid block on one side this actually blends super well with signs
