sorry for the delayed response.. drainage for the sunken patio can only be handled in two ways.. 1; if there is a slight downhill slope some where close by, and drainage pipe is added pre-slab, and then daylights at a location off and away. (which I did in the case, and the drain holes are in the corners hidden under the benches). we don’t get much rain here so it is not extra critical. #2; outside the wall a small sump and pump which sometimes come as a kit, can be placed below floor level. and water is automatically pumped off and away when needed.
