I believe the dress she wears in the brief flash during the wedding scene is her wedding dress. The costume designers said they made a whole new dress for Kate just for that brief moment Anthony has. So to ease something we do see her as a bride.

if Colin doesnt end up with Penelope even after the LW reveal, i will absolutely riot. I know they're endgame, but i cant stomach Penelope not getting her Colin in the end. as a bigger girl, i need to see this on screen. So im so happy Nicola emphasized it was her choice to be more exposed/nude on screen to show her love for her body, her shape, and her own empowerment. i need to see these on screen so it can be known that us bigger girls can absolutely end up with the Colin Bridgertons!!!
Personally, I don't think Colin would drop Pen after finding out she's LW, furious yes maybe even a bit vengeful in the bed lol. But his character is definitely one that takes his vows seriously and once he loves someone that love doesn't waver.

Also, Eloise hits through wicket # 5 so she’ll likely come after him. I’m gonna be really annoyed if they don’t give us Benedict next. I’m worried they’ll give us Francesca instead. I hear her story is beautiful, but I just want Benedict’s story first. Most of the fandom does.
i haven’t read francesca’s story yet but i believe she’s married for a while before her real story starts so i would think the rest of her story may happen in maybe eloises season.

He also emits such extremely chaotic bi energy (as a fellow bi myself), and I do wish we could have some more queer rep (even him flirting with men would be amazing) but I hear his story is very good. I hope it's Benedict next. In the books there's quite a bit of time between first meeting his love interest and the rest of the story so they could make just the first part happen now.. But doing francescas story first makes no sense to me, she has to have a little time between the wedding and the.. rest of the story?
so i haven’t yet been able to read francesca’s story but someone please correct me if im wrong, i believe she gets married and i don’t recall how long before he dies and her story with another man (his cousin who she meets on her first wedding day with kill killmartin). he falls for her “at first site and pressures her after the fact.

I kinda want the Queen to end up hiring "lady Whistledown". She did say she'd be a valuable ally to the crown.
Unfortunately in the teaser for season 3 instead of Lady Danbury making a bet to find LW as it was in the book, it will be Queen Charlotte putting out word for anyone to aid in the unmasking of LW. In the book it was £1,000. In the teaser it was mentioned to be £5,000. After it was proven that El was not LW after having rolled up to El's front house and motioning her to get inside the Queen's carriage and then accusing her of being LW, the Queen is still with full intentions and any means necessary to unmask her rival. Queen Charlotte only offered the alliance to El had she admitted she was LW. And only offered three days to think on this.
I hate Benedict with this Lady Tilly. She's an unnecessary character.

I can't be the only one that finds Eloise and Cressida's "friendship" just wrong. Eloise has her own very stringent sense of right and wrong, and obviously still feels very protective of Penelope. It's obvious that both Pen and Eloise want each other's friendship back. Cressida's casual cruelty just feels like it should be a deal breaker. Yes, there are things about Cressida's life that make her more sympathetic, but her cruelty is repulsive and her manipulating the people around her is as well.

Here’s how I personally see it (because I don’t like their friendship either) I think the first half of the season, their friendship is meant to show how alone Eloise feels without Pen, and how hard she’s trying to “join the other side”-as she puts it-after her Whistledown scandal. But I think Cressida is going to do something unforgivable in the second half of the season that makes Eloise realize that Cressida is a mean girl to her core. That, or she’s going to be put in a position where she has to pick between Cressida and Pen, and the facts and circumstances will ultimately make her go back to being friends with Pen

Eloise with Cressida is a desperate move. She’s scraping the bottom of the bin by saying that they are “friends “.
It repulses me…as well as my husband. When Cressida stepped on Pen’s gorgeous emerald green gown, that was it. SO low. Eloise just stood there. It made me recoil from her. I hope she ends this charade of a fake friendship before she becomes as scummy as Cressida.
@@gdeannecampbell1067 Eloise claims that they are friends because Cressida befriended her when no one else would, but no one appears to be treating Eloise differently. All the young ladies speak to her and actively seek her out. The only snub she received was from Cressida's parents.
You are so right, after Cressida ruined Pen's dress, Eloise just stood there. The next day she agrees with Cressida that Pen is beneath them both and that Eloise and Cressida are "far more interesting". Really Eloise?
In the 4th episode, when Eloise finally shares her true opinions about society and the obsession with finding a husband, Cressida doesn't pay attention and then snubs El to go make Debling dance with her. Maybe this is when Eloise realizes, or starts to, what an awful person she is.
Oooh, I just had a thought. Lady Featherington said "People would do a lot worse to get close to the Bridgertons". What if this is Cressida trying to up her status?
Can’t stop thinking about the timeline of midnight. Finally, Pen feels like Cinderella and everything is balancing out for her. Then, the carriage ultimately brings her to a crossroads where she can lose everything. Cinderella’s maid-like appearance and abuse from her family, makes her worried to get back home before the prince learns of her true self. Symbolically, this Bridgerton Cinderella rendition is highlighted with a character deadline that too could let her lose her prince.

There are two things I haven't seen anyone talking about and I really want to know what people think.
1. When they are dancing, Lady Tilly takes the lead, even going so far as to put Benedict in the woman's position. The rest of their dance, he is doing the women's choreography.
2. I don't think Colin was quite as "rakish" during his travels as he lets on. He makes joking, flirtatious allusions to his rakishness to the ladies ("If I told you, i'd be forced to marry you.", or "If I told you, you'd swoon.") and with the men, who are exchanging ribald tales of their exploits, he says things like "There were many late nights", and the men respond with "Yes but what did you DO on those late nights?" Then during the other conversations with the men, who continue to push him for details of his exploits, he vaguely references"the contessa" but it is clear he hasn't specified what, if anything, he did with "the contessa".
What if Penelope is the only one who immediately saw through all his pretenses, which she documented in her pain and anger as Lady Whistledown, talking about "his mask" and whether he even knows if his new personality is real or not, ,and his story about swanning around Europe were all made up to sell his new persona?
In his journal, he talks about beautiful women in Paris, and touching freckles, but feeling very alone. Maybe that was all it was, or maybe that was just for his writing and made up as well.
Which just leaves the brothel visits. These annoyed me greatly and this next part is pure speculation. If his European vacation "player" schtick is fake, maybe proximity to Pen is what sends him seeking "relief" or distraction, because he doesn't think he can/should want her, because they are "friends", and/or because society has expectations of him.
Their first interaction, upon his return, Pen is curt with him, because of what he said last season, and he is hurt and confused. Brothel visit number one, which includes a very specific close up of Colin's hand squeezing a generously thick thigh. Their second interaction, he is clearly attracted to her, he chases after her, complements her dress, and her appearance, insists she is no spinster, and finds out why she is so upset with him and he realizes he f'ed up big time. Third interaction is his apology and offer of assistance, with a clear declaration of "just friends". And immediately before the first lesson, he has to fortify himself against proximity to Pen, while actively encouraging her to flirt in front of him, by going to the brothel first. His third trip to the brothel, occurs when he is out with the other men, and he is struggling with, and finally acknowledging, his feelings for Pen, and the fact that he is about to lose her forever, and he can't go through with it. He actually looks ashamed and embarrassed, as the women perform for him. Sort of a "What the hell am I doing here?"
I'm also considering that the brothel trips are an attempt to convince himself, or everyone else, that he is a rake, and it is part of his performance and "mask". His last brothel visit when he can't go through with it; his break with the other men when he asks them about how exhausting it is always pretending that what is most important, isn't; his getting drunk and snapping at Violet; all happens when he can't keep the facade going any longer.
So those are the things I'm hoping others have thoughts about. Sorry so long winded.

I completely agree actually with your observations and your analysis of Colin’s rakeishness. I’m sad for what he will feel when he discovers that Pen, now the woman who he craves with everything within him, is in fact Lady Whistledown. In all honesty, I might not watch that part because it will be so crushing and quite frankly, I’m not sure I can handle it. I get quite emotional watching any and all of these kind of precious significant moments in the Bridgerton series.
@@gdeannecampbell1067 I am so worried about him finding out. I'm worried about what he will say to her, and just how awful it will be. I've struggled watching all the times Pen is treated badly, and this one will likely be the worst. I can only hope that he can look at what he has done to stop Pen marrying Debling, and realize she was trying to stop him from marrying the person conniving to trap him. They love each other enough to stop each of them from making the biggest mistake of their lives. It has to count for something.
Yes, Benedict being put in the woman's position by lady Tilley, plus the fact the spoilers say she convinces him to engage in a threesome with another man, make me think they want to show us he starts feeling attracted to men and gender bend his story...Not a fan of this change, if it proves to be true.

I am also saddened when I think about when Colin finds out but I have high hopes that his love for her will over power the discovery and will accept Pen.
It seems like they’re building up to Benedict’s story for next season but I feel like Eloise should be next.
In the book, Eloise is next. Read the end of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton!

The show runner didn’t do Pen’s story any favors. The books are kinder than the show to Penelope.

I have this trouble with the concept that Eloise and Penelope were like some perfect friends. They're friends for a long time, but even in season one they had a fight. And it was about Penelope being stressed about something that Eloise NEVER ASKED HER ABOUT. And Eloise didn't even translate how the thing she said that was mean was actually a desperation about her interest. Then, in season 3, Eloise pretends SHE NEVER HEARD ABOUT!!

Too many plot lines. Not enough Penelope and Collin and Francesca season will be after she’s been widowed.. everyone really should read the book so that they know what’s going on

I kind of like the idea of the production team mixing it up and adding to its lore. The. Everyone will be on equal ground of not knowing what happens next. We all scream originality, but never allow it to happen when we as the audience try to push for what we have already experienced. I like being able to have different adaptations take me on a different journey at times. It doesn’t always work for everything, but I think for the Bridgerton stories, these do well going about it this way.
I’m not ready for Colin to find out Penelope’s secret of being Lady Whistledown.
As I was watching part 2 Tears of joy for Pen and Colin - I was swooning as they kissed at the end -
I need more PoLin scenes. As well, Penolise is badly needed, but bring it to later seasons so PoLin remains in this franchise forever.

Since the show is changing almost everything and doesn't give a flying eff about staying true to the books, couldn't we just have Francesca and John as endgame? The other option is heartbreaking.

The good thing about Francesca and John's story is that it can continue as the B story well into Benedict's story especially if it's written well. For those who know what comes next for the quietest Bridgerton, you understand why.

It's going to be Francesca next season - it's time for another girl. Then we'll have Benedict, Eloise, Gregory and Hyacinth last with Violets throughout because she's always going to be her children first. Francesca will be married by the end of this season as John dies quickly after their wedding in the books and she needs to have her love story with Michael.
I don't think so. Monetarily, leaving Benedict and Eloise in the wings for any more than 2 seasons doesn't make sense. 2 additional main actors they will need to pay as well. Benedict has basically nothing to do anymore, he's just waiting for his story to begin, and most of the ground work for Eloise's has been laid (the groundwork Fran is getting, feels like the groundwork Eloise got in S1 w Marina and Philip being introduced). At this point, Benedict has got to be S4; there's nothing else left for him to do. The earliest Fran can go is probably S5.
@@RVforestgreen The show runners are planning on all 8 seasons as long as Netflix keeps the go ahead and Netflix agrees. Keeping two big stories in the wings for later keeps people watching for longer. These are not huge stars that are drawing BIG salaries and Netfliix is making bank back. It's also easy to get rid of Benedict for a while like they did with Colin and send if off to study art abroad after a horrible ending with Lady Tillbury. He's at loose ends so it makes sense for him to travel before settling down - or even just sending him to the country to stay with Daphne or Anthony. There hasn't even been a hint of Sophie yet either and that's a better build up within Francesca's story for next season. There is just more of a setup for Francesca next season considering her story. Again Benedict and Eloise they will keep for last unless Netflix pulls the series because it keeps people coming back.

If you read the books you realize that Francesca was married to John for two years before he died, and then she was a widow for four years before she decided to go back into society and then fell in love with Michael. Having her marry John now and then be married to him for Benedict’s and Eloise’s seasons would fit more with the true storylines of the books. I really hope they don’t go out of order anymore.
Also I have to say it, I hope they don’t make Michael a woman. Please keep the integrity of the original books. Don’t change things just to be politically correct and woke. Be respectful of the fans of the books who are the reason you have a show.

I'm thinking Benedicts story will change slightly. Sophie might be Cressidas half sister. I thought they might bring in sophie as the last Fetherington sister but their story feels spent with Marina. Cressida is giving major charachter vibes, and even with part 2, i think she would play the nasty sister to Sophie well. She does have the nasty father lined up and the controlled mother.... only time will tell I guess.

I don't think penelope and colin are going to get there happy ending colin will be to angry and unable to forgive penelope so will fall out of love with her and at the end even though he is not angry he will still be unable to forgive her and they will agree to just be friends they might bring marina back in to it and in a twist colin marrys marina leaving penelope alone but accepting that she doesn't need a man and his happy being a independent woman and has learned to have more confidence in herself this will also give LW a reason to continue in to series 4
