      “They would turn you into a walking cheeto if they could” :D. It usually takes most quite a bit of work to break the cycle of toxins causing stress. For me personally, was a ton of work and am still working through so much despair, disillusionment, terror, horror, powerlessness, grief and heartbreak, etc… to find peace. Sending

    I'm actually very much fascinated by lichen, and fungi and how they operate in a natural environment is absolutely brilliant, not gonna lie.
    Also, I had my will drawn up legally and everything when I was expected to die about 7 years ago. Don't regret it at all. Things happen. My mother, on the other hand, had a serious phobia regarding death and never had one established, so when she died of covid it was a clusterduck with all of her family trying to nick her stuff (she was a jeweler and had a fortune in pricey pieces and loose stones and literal gold bars hidden in her house, so you can imagine that this was unpleasant for me, being 30 at the time and apparently in charge of everything and just trying to make sure my nephew was being taken care of since my sister had recently passed as well).

    I genuinely can't tell how much of this is a character and how much is genuine. It's kinda crazy, I didn't know there was a term for my mother, it's such a weight lifted from my shoulders that other people get it, I've gone 23 years of feeling like I was the only one that experienced the absolute absurdity that was my childhood and early adulthood. The dress, the tone, the terms, the body language, it's all the same, dear god, and my mother was on the far side of it, where it reversed into her staying inside all the time, we were also strictly religious and I was homeschooled. This is so cathartic.

    • @jeanjaz
      @jeanjaz 10 місяців тому +3

      It's a slippery slope. You start with one scary thing and keep adding to it.
      THEN you run across the verse(s) that say, "Don't take thought to what you eat or drink..." and put it together with what Corinthians says about not asking where the food came from, just bless it and eat it with Thanksgiving.
      I've come to the conclusion that one of the main reasons we "bless" our food is to remove the curse of abused animals, earth destroying toxins, and just general unhealthfulness that is in it.

    • @searose6192
      @searose6192 10 місяців тому +1

      @@jeanjazThat doesn’t really make sense, since we have blessed our food for thousands of years and it’s only been toxic for about a hundred years, and inescapably toxic for a generation.

    • @jeanjaz
      @jeanjaz 8 місяців тому

      @searose6192 Blessing and being thankful for the food isn't just for toxins. There has always been foodborne illnesses caused by undercooked or spoiled food. Refrigeration is fairly modern.
      The ancient Jews were required by their religious law to destroy crockery if mice pellets were found in them. The world in general at that time did not do that - they weren't aware of the germs rodents could spread or the toxins found in some rodent urine.
      We don't really know how many hundreds or thousands of years people have been using toxic substances like lead, cadmium, mercury, etc. to decorate or create other things. Toxins from plastics and petroleum by products are fairly new, but there were plenty of other toxic substances in everyday use before plastics.
      The part I like in the Noachide and ancient Jewish laws and some of the native American tribes, (there are probably other cultures of which I'm unaware), is the reverence they gave to the animals that sustained them. They weren't to cause unnecessary pain, or remove a limb from a live animal, or eat an animal or part of an animal while it was still alive.
      We are removed from the death that gives us life by the grocery store, but I think it is a healthy and mindful thing to remember and be thankful for the life, work, and effort that went into providing our food.
      A thankful and reverent heart is a very healthy practice.
      Anyway, just my thoughts on the subject.
      BTW, I think your username, searose, is cool! Any story behind it?
