My partner and I took care of my parents until their end. We made sure that they had everything they wanted and needed. My grandma (my mom's, mom) was an amazing woman. So strong and I have her no nonsense personality. She passed when I was 12/13. I got to see her once before she passed. My mom took care of her at her end. My grandma knew she was sick but didn't tell anyone because she didn't want treatment. She didn't want to suffer like that. I miss all 3 of them. So much.
Im American. Im 34 and moved my 71 year old mother in to my house. I don’t make her pay rent or utilities. she’s independent but has a deformed foot i don’t want her falling as she gets older. Not all Americans push our elders to the home 😊
I am 80. My son has taken care of me for the last years. We get on each other's nerves but we did when I was the parent. I don't know why I have been given this end of life care, I am only so grateful. He didn't have to. I didn't for my mother, she had my bro and sister.
I want you to come to Georgia! We live about 100 miles southeast of Atlanta, and my husband and I both cook. We’d treat you like a king, or even better, like family. I know it’s not likely that you’ll ever come to Georgia, much less visit some folks you know nothing about, but I wish you would. 😍 I hope you know how much joy you bring to all of us. I’m sure I’m not the only one telling you to come for a visit. And we’re all being perfectly sincere. 💕
Same here, whenever I order fish and chips in the states, I ask for malt vinegar and the counter clerk just looks at me funny before fishing around for a bottle 😂
What a sweet and lovely man. So happy and positive. I want to adopt him! I can make him a pot pie from scratch; no soup... just gravy chicken and veggie all in a lovely crust.
As a man from alabama i can say that i believe a happy older gent like you would be appreciated, so nice and respectfull you would fit right in . i hope one day you can check it off your bucketlist ! if you come there are some great foods here ;) . eat your fill and i hope you enjoy the southern hospitality. and you should make a go fund me or somthing i would love to throw in on helping this legend see america !
Love your channel, I am originally from Montana. I have a lovely, from- scratch recipe for chicken pot pie. No soup, you actually make a roux first. It is a recipe from a family friend and😊 she was was originally from Australia.
I used to make pot pies alot when my family was home. It wouldn't have ever occurred to me to make them with anything but a rhue. I've never seen a recipe for pot pies that called for condensed soups. In my opinion they are terrible and l never use them.
Oh he reminds me of my dad so much. Thank you for sharing him with us all. I miss my dad he passed in 2015. He was born the same year as your dad 1933.
Awwwww, I LOVE IT!!! Hugs and big smiles from a Texas Southern Belle! I was hoping with all my heart that he would love it! 🤗 What a dear fellow! And you are a wonderful daughter!❤ Thank you for this!!
Seeing this before I have to head out made me smile ear to ear. I loved working in a retirement community for a few decades because of all the residents such as him... though, even the ornery ones could make smile, too.
So happy you love the chicken pot pie. My mother taught me to make them using frozen premade deep dish pie crusts. Cook chicken in a pot with celery, carrots and onions; add flour at last to thicken, pour in pie crusts/top with pie crust. No soup. You have a beautiful voice Dear. Greetings from Wild Peach Texas ! Hope to see you soon again!

START A GOFUNDME!!! Most of us in America will pitch in to bring him over for a visit! It can be Granddad Joe’s grand tour
❤❤ Actually that's a brilliant idea 😉!.
Maybe on a cruise ship, for a more relaxed journey.
I don’t think it’s financial reasons, he’s in his 90’s & a journey like that would be very strenuous.
@@LauraBidingCitizen My mom is 80 and we visited the UK... it's strenuous, but, with some planning and care, it's doable!
@ 80 is not 91! That’s 11 years difference!!
He has a beautiful voice.
If only this is how we all will be treated in our older times

“Oh you are good to me”, are words I hope to hear from my elderly loved ones.
I.. don't, but I care for my parents anyway. It is the honorable and virtuous thing to do, and I do it knowing it is right.
@@jaklumen we are not worthy of your presence for wanting approval from our own parents, you are so cool and virtuous

Salt and vinegar on fries is something we do in New England I live in Florida now, but England to New England it followed
